Bible Questions Answered: Guardian Angels

Bible Question:
Where in the Bible does it say that we have guardian Angels?

Bible Answers:
Matthew 18:10
" Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven".

Our Lord taught that children have Angels in heaven, who do always behold the face of the Heavenly Father.

And so it may be deduced that whether young or old, we have at least one Angel with us.

Psalm 34:7 "The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them."

Psalm 91:11 "For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."

Peter's release from prison

At John Marks mothers home, the Christians were praying for Peter's release from prison. After the Angel of the Lord had released Peter, he went to Mark's mothers home, and knocked at the gate. A young lady there name Rhoda, went to answer the knocking at the gate. When she heard Peter voice outside the gate the told the others..and they said, “It is his Angel.”

Bible Questions Answered: Who To Confess To

Ezra, a priest, said who confession should be made to!
Ezra 10:11 KJV “Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do His pleasure:...”

The Apostle Peter, if alive today, would do what he did when on earth....

The Commandments
Exodus 20:1-17.


1: And God spake all these words, saying,
2: I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3: Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6: And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7: Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8: Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9: Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

These Codes For Conduct for Israel, and the whole world, bring with them the promise of God's blessing.

NUMBER ONE

Exodus 20:3:
Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.

We know what this means, loved ones, husbands, wives or children, and grandchildrren, money, power, finances,...etc,. are not to be more important than God!

Material worship, would be oh so easy. The love of power and goods, houses or lands whatever it might be, if not checked, can be all consuming.

"No other Gods," it means, nothing that usurpes His place! Nothing that consumes us. Nothing should ever take God's rightful worship!

Do people actually "worship" their possessions, money, their land, their power?
When something consumes our lives, leaving less room for God, ...it has become an idon and a false god.

NUMBER TWO

Exodus 20:4-6
4: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of
any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5:
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6: And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

God's image is too great to be cast in stone!
No earthly man, or object is to be venerated (worship)
!
No earthly man or object is to stand in the place of God, and be bowed down to (in worship)!

In Revelation 19:10 and Revelation 22:9 John fell at the feet of a mighty angel (Revelation 18:1/Revelation 22:8), after having received a vision of future events, but the angel told John...

Revelation 19:10 "And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethern that have the testimony of Jesus: Worship God: ..."

Ungodly men unwilling to bow to the God of the universe, and Redeemer of Calvary, gladly in Pomp and Circumstance, will bow to a lifless shrine or another, in open "self-righteousness."

Interesting note:
One church, cuts verses four, five, and six from the Commandment list, and to make up for the loss of one commandment, they divide the tenth Commandment into two parts (verse 17), namely coveting a neighbors mate, and house/ and coveting all his goods.

And why, would they do this?
They would do it, because their churches are "full," of "graven images."
Full of images of persons from heaven and earth, who they bow down to.

That is why.

Oh how easy it is to murder the plain word of God for our own hidden agendas! We can do that, but we will answer to God, one day if we do.

NUMBER THREE

Exodus 20:7
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.

Men are not to take the name of the Lord in vain, cursing, oaths etc.

God knew from the beginning, that man under sin would come to the place of anger and wrath.

And in that anger, curse God for his problems.

God knows when things upset us!
God knew from the beginning that things would.

And God's message to mankind is ..."Be Above iT!" Master the things that want to overwhelm you....or they will master you!

Matthew 12:36,37 KJV
[36] But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
[37] For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Ephesians 4:29 KJV
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

I just happen to be old enough to remember as a kid growing up....that if in a restaurat, someone took the name of the Lord in vain, some dear Christian saint would get up and go over to the gentleman, and kindly point out the fact that there were women and children present, and that taking God's name in vain was not appropriate in public.

And believe it or not, the offender would often say, that he was sorry...loud enough for those around him to hear.

How far, we have come from those days!

We need more Christian people to stand up! What are we afraid of? When you go to Mc Donalds, a children's fast food restaurant, and hear a bunch of truck drivers cursing using the name of our Saviour, there ought to be some kind of Holy Ire that mounts up to propel us to have a word with gentlemen like that.

If a Christian, could care less how people use the name Jesus, of what reverence, is it to, himself?

Mans enemy hates the name of Jesus, for he is forever defeated by that name.

Acts 4:12 "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name (No, Saint, no Apostle, no prophet, priest or king, only the name of Jesus Christ) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

NUMBER FOUR

Exodus 20:8
8: Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9: Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Of Interest:
There is a church today, that maintains as part of their salvation, “Sabbath-Keeping (Saturday worship),” which is nothing more than O.T. Jewish Legalism.

But the Christian truth is we are not under the law (of Judaism), nor saved by it.

Romans 6:14 KJV
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.”

(See also II Corinthians 3:1-18)

The early Christians worshiped on the “First Day of the Week-Sunday,” because it was the day Christ rose from the dead!

Keeping the “Lord's Day,” involves setting apart the first day of the week, which should be started by worship to the Lord, no work, a time of rest.

Man the worker, from Adam's days in the garden, was called to work. And its so easy to always be doing "Our-Thing."

But God wishes for man to rest on the seventh day, because on the seventh day, after making all of creation, He rested.

Genesis 2:2,3 "And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: bedause that in it He had rested from al His work which God created and made."

The Lord's Day, causes us to stop and think about the Great God, who has made all things, and He is greater than all!

Exodus 20:12
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

A person who has no respect for his parents, will certainly have no respect for anyone else.
No respect for his teachers
No respect for his peers
No respect for the law
No respect for government
No respect for God

Ephesians 6:1-3 KJV
[1] Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
[2] Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
[3] That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

The Apostle Paul thought this important enough to repeat it.

Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old.

Oh the deaths and broken homes caused by theft. Police departments are kept busy, looking for thieves. Prisons are kept full, and homes empty, all because some would rather steal, than work.

Bible Questions Answered: Bible Error-I Jn 1:8 vs. I Jn 3:9

Bible Question:
Here is a glaring inaccuracy of the bible...
I John 3:9/ in view of I John 1:8

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”

I John 1:8 KJV
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

Bible Answer:
Is there sin in a Christian's life, or does he ever come to a place of sinlessness (total sanctification)?

Romans 7:14-25 NLT
14 So the trouble is not with the law, for it is spiritual and good. The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin.
15 I don't really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don't do it. Instead, I do what I hate.
16 But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good.
17 So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.
18 And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can't.
19 I want to do what is good, but I don't. I don't want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway.

Sinless perfection in this world? Don't ask the Apostle Paul, because he emphatically said no!
Well if that is the case and it is, by scripture after scripture...what then does I John 3:9 mean?

I John 3:9 KJV

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”

Let us take a moment and look at that word “commit.”

When a man or woman is committed to becoming a full time athlete, they know instinctively, their life must become a life of training, training, training.
And they are committed to that physical goal.
To become an award winning athlete, requires, commitment!

Some today are, “committed to a sinful way of life.” They “Practice the ways of sin,” on a daily basis.

This is what is ment in I John 3:9.

I John 3:9 KJV
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit (have the Habit-Practice of) sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot (Practice-make a habit of continual) sin, because he is born of God.”

When a Christian falls into sin, and repents of his sin, he is forgiven, by the Grace of God. Repentance, means “an about face, a complete 180 degree turnaround from the path)” from the path of sin.

I John KJV 6-10
[6] If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
[7] But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (Atonement)
[8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
[9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
[10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

How old this homily, yet the more and more true it becomes....
It has been said, you can't stop the birds from flying over your head....no....
But you can stop them from making a “Nest,” in your hair!

1 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.
2 And because you belong to Him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.
3 The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent His own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin's control over us by giving His Son as a sacrifice for our sins.
4 He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.
5 Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.
6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.
7 For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God's laws, and it never will.
8 That's why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
9 But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)
10 And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God.
11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
12 Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do.

Bible Questions Answered: Length of Tribulation

How long a time will be between the Rapture and the Second Coming?

Seven Years. And when it occurs, it will begin the 70th wek of Daniel's 70 weeks (Daniel 9:24-27).

This is known as the Tribulation, with the last three and one half years (of the seven), being the “Great Tribulation.”

24 "Seventy 'sevens' are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.
25 "Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven 'sevens,' and sixty-two 'sevens.' It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble.
26 After the sixty-two 'sevens,' the Anointed One (the Messiah-the Lord Jesus Christ) will be cut off (Calvary)and will have nothing.

(We are presently in this holding period-the Church age, from Calvary to the Rapture). When the Rapture occurs, the next event will be Daniel's 70th week (of years), the Tribulation.)

The people of the ruler (the Anti-Christ) who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.

27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven (one week of years).'In the middle of the 'seven'he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him

If you heard a knocking at your front door at one o'clock in the morning, and some unknown voice asked admission to your home, would you open the door?
Of course not! Yet millions of people do exactly that every day, and they do it by practicing things relating to the occult.

If someone outside your door at one o'clock in the morning claimed to be the leader of our country, would you open the door and let him in?
Of course not, because you can't see through the door, and you know very well the chance that it is the leader of your country, is one chance in one hundred million.
Why then do individuals become so gullible in regards to Unseen Spiritual things?
Channeling....Ouija Boards etc...etc...

They answer: “Why do we know it's true, because the spirit told us so!”
Really, well what spirit was it? Do you know? ......
Of course not! Did you see him or her and did you have enough time to check their credentials?

Some have the mistaken idea, that if the smallest amount of information is given, or if some kind of unseen power is realized, its got to be real, and.......good.
But that is faulty reasoning! Without a doubt there is a Spiritual Realm and in it there are good and evil forces!
One is of God and His Kingdom of good and the other is Satan, the enemy of our souls and evil.

Are there deceiving spirits out to trick us?

The Word of God, strongly condemns any involvement in the occult!

9 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

Dabbling into the things of the occult opens a door to the evil Spiritual Realm, a door that is not easily shut!
Our Bible warns time and time again against such practices.

Galatians 5:19-21 NIV
19 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that
those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.


Occult practices “...are an abomination unto the Lord.

We have a spiritual enemy...Satan!

Satan is an arch deceiver:

This enemy, when given an “Open Door,” brings with him, torment, oppression, dread, depression, delusions, perversions, anxieties, nervousness, neurotic behavior, compulsions, lying, stealing, gambling, obsessions, fear, thoughts of suicide and murder, apparitions, hearing voices, poltergeist phenomena etc..etc..etc....
What must one do, if one has been involved with the occult?

First:
One must renounce Satan and everything that belongs to him. Rid your home of anything to do with the occult!

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Second:
Repent of your sins and receive the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart.

“But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:”

Third:
Read the Word of God daily!

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

Fourth:
Attend a Bible believing, Spirit filled church, one that believes in the Great Commission of our Lord.

[17] “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
[18] (deadly things)... shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Fifth:
Warn others not to become entangled with the occult!

Bible Questions Answered: Hell vs Lake of Fire

Bible Questions:
Do sinners who die in their sin; the lost, go into hell? I have heard a teaching that the lake of fire is hell, according to Mark 9:42-48, the lake of fire is eternal.

[44] Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Bible Answer:
The simple reasoning of these people is....according to this verse it appears that, hell is but another name for the “Lake of Fire.”

Hells fire is a fire that is never quenched, so the lake of fire must then be hell.

Well where do the lost who die go to today?

These people do not say, ...(Jesus stated in Luke 16:23 that the Rich Man, has descended into (Hell: hades-the place of departed souls-grave-hell.)

The fact is that one day not only the lost, but Hell itself will one day be cast into the Lake of Fire, so the fires of Hell, today, are in a very real sense-Eternal!

(If the lake of fire is hell, how then can hell be cast into hell?)

Revelation 20:14,15 KJV
[14] And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
[15] And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The lost today, who die in their sins, are sent to Hell, a place prepared for the devil and his angels. (Matthew 25:41)

"...God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment (The Lake of Fire, the Second Death);”

Hell and the Lake of Fire are two distinct and different places, and there is no escape from either one!
