Church Title: House Of God

Bible Texts:

I Timothy 3:14,15 KJV

14 These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:

15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

Most churches are built by brick or stone such as granite or marble, but this church

The House Of God, is built with living stones.

I Peter 2:3-10 KJV

3 "...ye have tasted that The Lord is gracious.

4 To whom coming, as unto A Living Stone, disallowed indeed of men, but

Chosen Of God, And Precious,

5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion

A Chief Corner Stone, Elect, Precious: and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded.

7 Unto you therefore which believe He Is Precious: but unto them which be disobedient, The Stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made The Head Of The Corner,

8 And A Stone Of Stumbling, and A Rock Of Offense, even to them which stumble at the Word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His Marvelous Light;

10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

The foundation and Corner Stone of this spiritual building is The Lord.

I Corinthians 3:9-11 KJV

9 For we are laborers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:19-22 KJV

19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,

Jesus Christ Himself being The Chief Corner Stone;

21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in

The Lord:

22 In whom ye also are built together for an habitation of God through The Spirit.

The building is The House Of God, because His presence dwells there.

II Corinthians 6:16 KJV

"...for ye are the temple of The Living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

Revelation 21:3 KJV

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.

The pillars in the church, are the saints who hold dear the doctrines of faith.

Galatians 2:9 KJV

And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

Revelation 3:12 KJV

Him that over cometh will I make a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of My God, and the name of the city of

My God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from My God: and I will write upon him My new name.

Dear Christian, you are a special part of God's House.

Every day as we yield ourselves to The Lord, The Spirit Of God, is fashioning us as a living stone, into

The House Of God.

I Corinthians 15:49 KJV

And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

II Corinthians 3:18 KJV

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of The Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by The Spirit Of The Lord.

Are you a part of The House Of God, you can be. Our names are written in The Lamb's Book Of Life, when we have FAITH, that Jesus is The Son of God, and that He came to die in judgment, in our place, that we at His hands might receive a pardon for sin. And by REPENTANCE of our sins, making an about face spiritually, to follow The Lord, and with CONFESSION, we publicly make known, this is our Savior, and we are following Him. 

THE CHURCH’S ONE FOUNDATION

The Church’s one foundation
Is Jesus Christ her Lord,
She is His new creation
By water and the Word.
From heaven He came and sought her
To be His holy bride;
With His own blood He bought her
And for her life He died.

She is from every nation,
Yet one o’er all the earth;
Her charter of salvation,
One Lord, one faith, one birth;
One holy Name she blesses,
Partakes one holy food,
And to one hope she presses,
With every grace endued.

The Church shall never perish!
Her dear Lord to defend,
To guide, sustain, and cherish,
Is with her to the end:
Though there be those who hate her,
And false sons in her pale,
Against both foe or traitor
She ever shall prevail.

Though with a scornful wonder
Men see her sore oppressed,
By schisms rent asunder,
By heresies distressed:
Yet saints their watch are keeping,
Their cry goes up, “How long?”
And soon the night of weeping
Shall be the morn of song!

’Mid toil and tribulation,
And tumult of her war,
She waits the consummation
Of peace forevermore;
Till, with the vision glorious,
Her longing eyes are blest,
And the great Church victorious
Shall be the Church at rest.

Yet she on earth hath union
With God the Three in One,
And mystic sweet communion
With those whose rest is won,
With all her sons and daughters
Who, by the Master’s hand
Led through the deathly waters,
Repose in Eden land.

O happy ones and holy!
Lord, give us grace that we
Like them, the meek and lowly,
On high may dwell with Thee:
There, past the border mountains,
Where in sweet vales the Bride
With Thee by living fountains
Forever shall abide!
