Shamelessness

Bible Questions Answered:
“..seems like there are so many people without morals today...”
Peter/ London, England United Kingdom

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

We live in a time of shameless living.

Immodest:
Not modest in conduct, utterance, etc.; indecent; shameless.
Dictionary.com

When Jewish leaders told Ezra, the priest, of the sins of God's people...

Ezra 9:3-6 KJV
3 And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonished.
4 Then were assembled unto me every one that trembled at the words of The God Of Israel, because of the transgression of those that had been carried away; and I sat astonished until the evening sacrifice.
5 And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto The Lord my God,
6 And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush* to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens.

*Blush-Hebrew: Kalam (Kaw-lawn): To be (make) ashamed, blush, to put to shame.

Blushing is the reddening of a person's face due to psychological reasons. It is normally involuntary and triggered by emotional stress, such as that associated with embarrassment, or anger...”
Wikipedia

Question: Is it possible that a people, who decide to live immorally, can “no longer blush,” at evil?

Answer: Yes.

Jeremiah 6:15 KJV
Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed,
neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith The Lord.

Jeremiah 8:12 KJV
Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed,
neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith The Lord.

How can this be?

I Timothy 4:1,2 KJV
1 Now The Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
(“their consciences are dead.” NLT)

Shame:

Psalm 25:2-5 KJV
2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
4 Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me in thy Truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Jeremiah 6:15,16 KJV
15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith The Lord.
16 Thus saith The Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

Jeremiah 17:13 NLT
O Lord, the hope of Israel, all who turn away from you will be disgraced (Ashamed KJV). They will be buried in the dust of the earth, for they have abandoned The Lord, The Fountain Of Living Water.

No Shame To God's People:

Psalm 119:1-9 NLT (Aleph)
1 Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of The Lord.
2 Joyful are those who obey His laws and search for Him with all their hearts.
3 They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in His paths.
4 You have charged us to keep your commandments carefully.
5 Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect your decrees!
6 Then I will not be ashamed when I compare my life with your commands.
7 As I learn your righteous regulations, I will thank you by living as I should!
8 I will obey your decrees. Please don’t give up on me!

Romans 8:33 KJV
As it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion a Stumbling Stone and Rock Of Offense: and whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.

Philippians 1:20 NLT (Apostle Paul)
For I fully expect and hope that I will never be ashamed, but that I will continue to be bold for Christ, as I have been in the past. And I trust that my life will bring honor to Christ, whether I live or die.

I Peter 4:16,17 KJV
16 But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by His name!
17 For the time has come for judgment, and it must begin with God’s household. And if judgment begins with us, what terrible fate awaits those who have never obeyed God’s Good News?

I John 2:28,29 KJV
28 And now, little children, abide in Him; that, when He shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.
29 If ye know that He is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of Him.

Leviticus 20:7 KJV
Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am The Lord your God.

I Peter 1:15 KJV
But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

I Peter 1:16 KJV
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Prayer:

Romans 1:16 KJV
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is The Power Of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Romans 5:7,8 KJV
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:23 KJV
For the wages of sin is death; but The Gift Of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 10:9, 10 KJV
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth The Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto Salvation.

Holy, Holy, Holy

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,
Who was, and is, and evermore shall be.

Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see;
Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee,
Perfect in power, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy Name, in earth, and sky, and sea;
Holy, holy, holy; merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!

II Corinthians 6:14-18 KJV
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of
The Living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith The Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be A Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith
The Lord Almighty.

“Who are we to be praying to...?”
Brenda/ Caratinga, (Minas Gerais) Brazil South America

Bible Texts:

We are to pray to God, not man.

(Let us do, what The Word Of God, tells us to do!)

13 Then they cried unto The Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses.
19 Then they cry unto The Lord in their trouble, and He saveth them out of their distresses.
28 Then they cry unto The Lord in their trouble, and He bringeth them out of their distresses.

Psalm 116:4,13,17 KJV
4 Then called I upon the name of The Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

Zephaniah 3:9 KJV
For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of The Lord, to serve Him with one consent.

Matthew 6:9 KJV (Jesus gives His followers an example of prayer.)
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

The Holy Spirit, guides us to cry “Abba, Father.”

Romans 8:15 KJV
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received
The Spirit Of Adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

1 And it came to pass, that, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said unto Him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
2 And He said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

Jesus prayed to The Father.

14 If ye shall ask any thing in My name, I will do it.

Romans 10:13 KJV
For whosoever shall call upon the name of The Lord shall be saved.

I Corinthians 1:2 NLT
I am writing to God’s church in Corinth, to you who have been called by God to be His own holy people. He made you holy by means of Christ Jesus, just as He did for all people everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours.

Ephesians 2:17,18 NLT
17 He brought this Good News of peace to you Gentiles who were far away from Him, and peace to the Jews who were near.
18 Now all of us can come to The Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us.

Is it possible to pray to God The Holy Spirit? Most Christian leaders think so, because He is God, yet there are no examples of such prayers. Plus the fact that has already been pointed out,
The Holy Spirit, directs us to The Father, and yet the Apostle Paul says.....

II Corinthians 13:14 NLT
May the grace of The Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of
The Holy Spirit be with you all.

Galatians 4:6 KJV
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth The Spirit Of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

In The Word Of God, are we ever told to pray to men? No!

As Christian people we are to pray to God, He HEARS us when we come to Him in Truth!

Pastor, you just don't get it, I pray to a man, because I need an intercessor!”

Yes, we need an intercessor, and we as Christians have one.

Intercessor:
Prayer, petition, or entreaty in favor of another
Merriam-Webster.com

Jesus Christ Our Intercessor:

Isaiah 53:12 KJV (Christ)
Therefore will I divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He hath poured out His soul unto death: and He was numbered with the transgressors; and He bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Luke 22:32 KJV
But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Luke 23:34 KJV
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted His raiment, and cast lots.

John 14:16 KJV
And I will pray The Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever;

John 17:9 KJV
I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given Me; for they are thine.

Romans 8:34 KJV
Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and He is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

Hebrews 7:25 KJV
Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for hearing us when we pray, and thank you for our Savior, Intercessor,
The Lord Jesus.

May we always be your child, walking in the way of Truth, receiving your blessings in
Jesus name we pray.
Amen

Psalm 23:1-6 KJV
1 The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of The Lord for ever.

Bible Lesson: Prophecies And Their Fulfillment. Bible Prophecy: Promised Messiah, Hated Without A Cause.

Bible Lesson: Prophecies And Their Fulfillment.

Bible Prophecy: Promised Messiah, Hated Without A Cause.

Bible Text:

Psalm 69:4 NKJ
Those who hate Me without a cause Are more than the hairs of My head; They are mighty who would destroy Me, Being My enemies wrongfully; Though I have stolen nothing, I still must restore it.

Psalm 109:3-5 NKJV
3 They have also surrounded Me with words of hatred, And fought against Me without a cause.
4 In return for My love they are My accusers, But I give Myself to prayer.
5 Thus they have rewarded Me evil for good, And hatred for My love.

Prophecy Fulfillment:

John 15s:23-25 NLT
23 Anyone who hates Me also hates My Father.
24 If I hadn’t done such miraculous signs among them that no one else could do, they would not be guilty. But as it is, they have seen everything I did, yet they still hate Me and My Father.
25 This fulfills what is written in their Scriptures: ‘They hated Me without cause.’

It is one thing, if the guilty suffer for their crimes, but certainly, it is something else if the innocent suffer for crimes they did not do, how great indeed must that suffering be.

John 8:46 KJV
Which of you convinceth Me of sin?..."

I Peter 2:22 KJV
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth:

The innocent, suffering for the guilty.
This was the story presented from the very beginning of time.

Eve and Adam had sinned, and they faced judgment, and death. Fig leaves could not hide their sins.

Genesis 3:21 NLT
And The Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife.

Animal skin, from a dear lamb, of Abel.
An innocent lambs' blood, was offered up, so that Adam and Eve could have their sins covered.

John 1:29 KJV
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold The Lamb Of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

II Corinthians 5:21 NLT
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

God's sinless Lambs' blood, was offered up, so that we might be clothed in His righteousness.

Psalm 132:9 KJV
Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.

Isaiah 61:10 KJV
I will greatly rejoice in The Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a Bridegroom decketh Himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

Revelation 19:8 KJV
And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

God's spotless Lamb, took our place in judgment (for sin), that we might have the righteousness of Christ.

Isaiah 53:1-12 GNT
1 The people reply, “Who would have believed what we now report? Who could have seen The Lord's hand in this?
2 It was the will of The Lord that His Servant grow like a plant taking root in dry ground. He had no dignity or beauty to make us take notice of Him. There was nothing attractive about Him, nothing that would draw us to Him.
3 We despised Him and rejected Him; He endured suffering and pain. No one would even look at Him— we ignored Him as if He were nothing.
4 “But He endured the suffering that should have been ours, the pain that we should have borne. All the while we thought that His suffering was punishment sent by God.
5 But because of our sins He was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did. We are healed by the punishment He suffered, made whole by the blows He received.
6 All of us were like sheep that were lost, each of us going his own way. But The Lord made the punishment fall on Him, the punishment all of us deserved.
7 “He was treated harshly, but endured it humbly; He never said a word. Like A Lamb about to be slaughtered, like a sheep about to be sheared, He never said a word.
8 He was arrested and sentenced and led off to die, and no one cared about His fate. He was put to death for the sins of our people.
9 He was placed in a grave with those who are evil, He was buried with the rich, even though He had never committed a crime or ever told a lie.”
10 The Lord says, “It was My will that He should suffer; His death was a sacrifice to bring forgiveness. And so He will see His descendants; He will live a long life and through Him My purpose will succeed.
11 After a life of suffering, He will again have joy; He will know that He did not suffer in vain. My Devoted Servant, with whom I am pleased, will bear the punishment of many and for His sake I will forgive them.
12 And so I will give Him a place of honor, a place among the great and powerful. He willingly gave His life and shared the fate of evil men. He took the place of many sinners and prayed that they might be forgiven.”

Prayer:

Acts 2:21 KJV
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of The Lord shall be saved.”

Angelos

Bible Questions Answered:
“Revelation talks about the churches angel. Who are these angels. Does every church have an angel, and how do we find out who they are?...”
Katashi/ Taito, Tokyo Japan

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

Seven times we see the phrase....”the angel of the church.”

Revelation 2:1 NLT
Write this letter to the angel of the church in Ephesus.

Revelation 2:8 NLT
Write this letter to the angel of the church in Smyrna.

Revelation 2:12 NLT
Write this letter to the angel of the church in Pergamum.

Revelation 2:18 NLT
Write this letter to the angel of the church in Thyatira.

Revelation 3:1 NLT
Write this letter to the angel of the church in Sardis.

Revelation 3:7 NLT
Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia.

Revelation 3:14 NLT
Write this letter to the angel of the church in Laodicea.

Revelation 1:9-20 NLT (Vision of The Son Of Man)
9 I, John, am your brother and your partner in suffering and in God’s Kingdom and in the patient endurance to which Jesus calls us. I was exiled to the island of Patmos for preaching The word Of God and for my testimony about Jesus.
10 It was The Lord’s Day (The first day of the week, Sunday), and I was worshiping in
The Spirit. Suddenly, I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet blast.
11 It said, “Write in a book everything you see, and send it to the seven churches in the cities of Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”
12 When I turned to see who was speaking to me, I saw seven gold lamp stands.
13 And standing in the middle of the lamp stands was someone like The Son Of Man. He was wearing a long robe with a gold sash across His chest.
14 His head and His hair were white like wool, as white as snow. And His eyes were like flames of fire.
15 His feet were like polished bronze refined in a furnace, and His voice thundered like mighty ocean waves.
16 He held seven stars in His right hand, and a sharp two-edged sword came from His mouth. And His face was like the sun in all its brilliance.
17 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as if I were dead. But He laid His right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am The First And The Last.
18 I am The Living One. I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.
19 “Write down what you have seen—both the things that are now happening and the things that will happen.
20 This is the meaning of the mystery of the seven stars you saw in My right hand and the seven gold lamp stands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lamp stands are the seven churches.

The seven lamp stands, are the seven churches, and “...And standing in the middle of the lamp stands is The Son Of Man...:”(Vs 13)

It is the church's calling to be a blazing Light, to a dark, sin filled world.

Homily:
I am sorry over the years, I have forgotten just where this story comes from, but yet true it is.

A country church had non of the benefits that some might have in the city, for at night it was lit by lanterns. And how this was done was the following. Each family had its lantern and came to church be it summer or winter, day or night. When the family came into the church they hung their lantern on its particular place on the wall. When all had come, the church was full of light, but should a someone not be able to come, the church, at their place was dark.

Matthew 5:14-16 KJV
14 Ye are the Light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your Light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Church of The Lord Jesus Christ, God is in your midst, be full of the oil of The Spirit, blazing forth the glory of The Lord.

Now who are the angels of the seven churches, the stars in The Lord's hand?

Revelation 2:1 NLT
Write this letter to the angel* of the church in Ephesus.

*Angel-Greek: Aggelos (Ang-el-os): To bring tidings; a messenger; a pastor, messenger.

16 He held seven stars in His right hand
20 The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches

The angel of the church is non other than its Pastor. He is a messenger of The Lord, commissioned by The Lord, to announce, “Thus saith The Lord.”

These angelos, messengers, are the stars of God, held in His hand, (not stars from sinful Hollywood) God's stars, radiate the message of Light and Life, that Jesus saves!

Isaiah 45:22 KJV
Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

Yes our Lord holds dear His ministers!

I Chronicles 16:22 KJV (Psalm 105:15)
Saying, Touch not Mine anointed, and do My prophets no harm.

And we should hold them dear, as messengers of The Lord. Reverenced, no, highly respected and prayed, and provided for, yes.

Revelation 19:10 KJV (John, before and angel of God.)
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Revelation 22:8,9 KJV (John, before and angel of God.)
8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

I Timothy 5:11 Timothy 5:17 KJV
Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in The Word and doctrine.

Always pray for your pastor or pastors, telling them that you pray for them and their family. And that as a servant of The Lord, you faithfully tithe, so that the needs of the pastor and church are met!

Mark 9:41 KJV
For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in My name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.

Ephesians 6:7,8 NLT
7 Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for The Lord rather than for people.
8 Remember that The Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do..."

Prayer:

John 3:16,17,36 KJV
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
36 He that believeth on The Son hath everlasting Life: and he that believeth not The Son shall not see Life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Hell - Eternal

Bible Questions Answered:
“What verses is there that you think says hell is eternal?...”
Kelly/ Woodland Park, Colorado U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

That hell is eternal, is stated again and again, but most importantly, stated so by our beloved Savior!
Without distinction, hell is the destination of the thief and the evil warlord, and all who reject The Savior, Jesus Christ.

ETERNAL JUDGMENT:

Isaiah 66:23,24 KJV
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before Me, saith The Lord.
24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against Me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

Daniel 12:2 KJV
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting Life, and some to shame and everlasting* contempt.

*Everlasting-Hebrew: Owlam (O-lawm): Continuance, eternal, for ever, ever lasting, without end.

Matthew 3:12 NLT
He is ready to separate the chaff from the wheat with His winnowing fork. Then He will clean up the threshing area, gathering the wheat into His barn but burning the chaff with never-ending fire.”

Matthew 25:41,46 KJV
41 Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
46 And these shall go away into everlasting* punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

*Everlasting-Greek: Aionios (Ahee-o-nee-os): Eternal, for ever, everlasting.

Mark 9:43-48 KJV (Christ is speaking metaphorically.)
43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

II Thessalonians 1:7-9 KJV
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when The Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting* destruction from the presence of The Lord, and from the glory of His power;

*Everlasting-see above.

Jude 1:7,11-13 NLT
7 And don’t forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God’s judgment.
11 What sorrow awaits them! For they follow in the footsteps of Cain, who killed his brother. Like Balaam, they deceive people for money. And like Korah, they perish in their rebellion.
12 When these people eat with you in your fellowship meals commemorating The Lord’s love, they are like dangerous reefs that can shipwreck you. They are like shameless shepherds who care only for themselves. They are like clouds blowing over the land without giving any rain. They are like trees in autumn that are doubly dead, for they bear no fruit and have been pulled up by the roots.
13 They are like wild waves of the sea, churning up the foam of their shameful deeds. They are like wandering stars, doomed forever to blackest darkness.

Revelation 14:9-11 KJV
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of The Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Revelation 19:2,3 KJV
2 For true and righteous are His judgments: for He hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of His servants at her hand.
3 And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

Revelation 20:10 KJV
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are (They had been cast into the lake of fire 1,000 years before and are still there suffering), and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Revelation 21:8 NLT
But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

How serious is the decision of accepting or rejecting, The Savior, Jesus Christ!

Hebrews 10:31 KJV
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

To say not now, is to refuse, God's Life Preserver, and forever to be lost, in a sea of sin and judgment.

Prayer:

John 8:24 KJV
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.

Acts 4:12 KJV
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Proverbs 27:1 KJV
Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

Hebrews 4:7 KJV
"...To day if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts.

Acts 2:21 KJV
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of The Lord shall be saved.”

3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.

5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
12 "...Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.
13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.
14 Do everything without complaining and arguing,
15 so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright Lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.
16 Hold firmly to the word of Life..."

36 I was naked, and you gave Me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for Me. I was in prison, and you visited Me.’
37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink?

Spirit Possession

Bible Questions Answered:
“Do people still get devils today?...”
Janki/ Kalyan, Maharashtra India

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

You'd think if it was an important subject, that religious leaders would be warning people, yes, spirit possession is as real today, as it was in our Saviors day.

What is spirit possession.
Unclean spirits are spirit agents of evil, under the absolute control of the devil.
In our New Testament, we read of cases where individuals were possessed of evil spirits.
Jesus cast out evil spirits.

How and why may evil entities possesses individuals.

God created man as a “temple, Vessel” of The Holy Spirit.

I Corinthians 3:16,17 KJV
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that The Spirit Of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

I Corinthians 6:19,20 KJV
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of The Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

II Corinthians 6:16 KJV
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of The Living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Ephesians 2:19-22 KJV
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being The Chief Corner Stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in The Lord:
22 In whom ye also are built together for an habitation of God through The Spirit.
(True individually and corporately)

I Thessalonians 4:4 KJV
That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor

II Timothy 2:20,21 KJV
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honor, and some to dishonor.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for The Master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Our body is a temple, a vessel of God The Holy Spirit. Either our temple is filled with the presence and power of God, or it is empty, waiting an occupant.

An example of someone who became possessed or oppressed, was King Saul.

I Samuel 16:14 KJV
But The Spirit Of The LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from The LORD troubled him.

King Saul had disobeyed The Lord time after time.

When we live contrary to The Word Of God, which warns us against all evil, we are opening our selves up to the forces of evil.

Ephesians 6:12 KJV
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

I Timothy 4:1,2 KJV
[1] Now The Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shalldepart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
[2] Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Revelation 16:13,14 KJV
[13] And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon (Satan), and out of the mouth of the beast (The Ant-Christ), and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
[14] For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Christ set the demon, possessed and oppressed, free.

Demoniac cured: Mark 1:23-26
Dumb,Blind Demoniac cured: Matthew 12:22,23
Demoniac of Gadara cured: Mark 5:1-21
Dumb Demoniac cured: Matthew 9:32,33
Demoniac girl cured: Mark 7:24-30
Demoniac (lunatic) boy cured: Mark 9:14-39
Demoniac (Deaf and Dumb spirit) boy Cured: Mark 9:14-27

Evil spirits are invited into one's life through disobedience, such as through the practices of, all Occult practices, Divination, Channeling, Astrology, visiting Mediums, partaking of Witchcraft etc.

See The Bible Prayer Line Index: Bible Lessons: Occult.

Demons can be cast out through the power of God, but Jesus warned His disciples....

Matthew 12:43-45 KJV
[43] When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
[44] Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
[45] Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

Jesus passed the authority of His Name, on to His followers.

Mark 15:16-18 KJV
[15] And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
[16] He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
[17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; (Acts 2:1-4)
[18] They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

(Explanation of verse 18)

Acts 28:1-6 :NLT The Apostle Paul
1 Once we were safe on shore, we learned that we were on the island of Malta.
2 The people of the island were very kind to us. It was cold and rainy, so they built a fire on the shore to welcome us.
3 As Paul gathered an armful of sticks and was laying them on the fire, a poisonous snake, driven out by the heat, bit him on the hand.
4 The people of the island saw it hanging from his hand and said to each other, “A murderer, no doubt! Though he escaped the sea, justice will not permit him to live.”
5 But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed.
6 The people waited for him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. But when they had waited a long time and saw that he wasn’t harmed, they changed their minds and decided he was a god.

This is not something sought after, but if an evil thing like this should happen to God's people, He will, as He did with the Apostle, deliver them.

See also
Matthew 4:5-7 KJV
[5] Then the devil taketh Him (Jesus) up into the holy city, and setteth Him on a pinnacle of the temple,
[6] And saith unto Him, If thou be The Son Of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give His angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
[7] Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt The Lord thy God.

The Power of God, is not for showmanship, or fleshly acts of any kind, religious works included!

Exorcisms, are to be attempted only by Spirit Filled Christian, people, who are given to prayer and fasting.

Matthew 17:19-21 KJV
[19] Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
[20] And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
[21] Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

Luke 10:19 KJV
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Isaiah 58:6 KJV
Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

Revelation 12:11 KJV
And they overcame him by The Blood Of The Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

I John 4:4 KJV
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

A Last Warning:

Just because someone can cast out evil spirits, DOES NOT MEAN, THAT INDIVIDUAL IS A SERVANT OF THE LIVING GOD!

Matthew 7:21-23 KJV
21 Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.

QUESTION: How could people who prophecy, cast out devils, and do wonderful (religious things-in the church), ever be called “workers of iniquity???

ANSWER: These were people of religion, and ritual, but who had “NO,” personal relationship with
The Lord Jesus Christ. That is they had never and would “Never,” bow their knees in repentance for their sins, and make an about face to evil, while calling upon The Lord to “save,” them, through “Faith -In The Finished Work Of Christ.”

So, they performed their rituals behind stained glass and beautiful music, leading others to follow their example, and example that leads to spiritual death.

Matthew 15:14 KJV
Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Ephesians 6:11 KJV
Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles* of the devil.

Wiles-Greek: Methodeia-(Meth-od-i-ah): Travesty (trickery), wile, lie in wait.

Prayer:

Psalm 91:1-16 NLT
1 Those who live in the shelter of The Most High will find rest in the shadow of The Almighty.
2 This I declare about The Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him.
3 For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.
4 He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
7 Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.
8 Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.
9 If you make The Lord your refuge, if you make The Most High your shelter,
10 no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.
11 For He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go.
12 They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
13 You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
14 The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name.
15 When they call on Me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.
16 I will reward them with a long life and give them My salvation.”
