Bible Lesson: Answered Prayer: The Crucified Thief Asks A Request Of Jesus.
Bible Lesson: Answered Prayer: The
Crucified Thief Asks A Request Of Jesus.
Subject Of Prayer: The Crucified
Thief Asks Jesus To Remember Him In His Kingdom.
Bible Text:
Luke 23:39-43 NLT
39 One of the criminals hanging
beside Him scoffed, “So you’re The Messiah, are you? Prove it by
saving Yourself—and us, too, while you’re at it!”
40 But the other criminal protested,
“Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die?
41 We deserve to die for our crimes,
but this Man hasn’t done anything wrong.”
42 Then he said, “Jesus,
remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”
43 And Jesus replied, “I assure
you, today you will be with Me in paradise.”
Jesus, The
Promised Messiah:
Isaiah 53:12 KJV
Therefore will I divide Him a
portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the
strong; because He hath poured out His soul unto death: and He was
numbered with the transgressors; and He bare the sin of many, and
made intercession for the transgressors.
I Peter 2:23,24
KJV
23 Who, when He was reviled, reviled
not again; when He suffered, He threatened not; but committed Himself
to Him that judgeth righteously:
24 Who His own self bare our sins in
His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live
unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Isaiah 53:5 KJV
But He was wounded for our
transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement
of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.
Hebrews 12:2 KJV
Looking unto Jesus The Author And
Finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him
endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right
hand of The Throne Of God.
Galatians 3:13
KJV
Christ hath redeemed us from the
curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written,
Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Ephesians 1:7
KJV
In whom we have redemption through
His Blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His
Grace;
The Lord Of Glory,
crucified between two criminals. At first, in searing pain, both
criminals mocked The Lord.
Matthew 27:41-44
ESV
41 So also the chief priests, with
the scribes and elders, mocked Him, saying,
42 “He saved others; He cannot
save Himself. He is The King Of Israel; let Him come down now from
the cross, and we will believe in Him.
43 He trusts in God; let God deliver
Him now, if He desires Him. For He said, ‘I am The Son Of God.’”
44 And the robbers who were
crucified with Him also reviled Him in the same way.
At some time, one of the thieves, in
his slow agonizing death, had second thoughts, and rebuked his fellow
malefactor, saying...
Luke
23:40-43 NLT
40 “...“Don’t you fear God
even when you have been sentenced to die?
41 We deserve to die for our crimes,
but this Man hasn’t done anything wrong.”
42 Then he said, “Jesus,
remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”
The repentant
thief:
And what did Jesus
say?
Luke 23:43 NLT
And Jesus replied, “I assure you,
today you will be with Me in paradise.”
The repentant
thief, had his prayer answered, for Jesus said, yes!
There would be
“no,” time in purgatory (mans invention), no time of suffering
for sins, etc. Jesus had paid it all.
I hear the Savior
say,
“Thy strength
indeed is small;
Child of weakness,
watch and pray,
Find in Me thine
all in all.”
Refrain:
Jesus paid it
all,
All to Him I
owe;
Sin had left a
crimson stain,
He washed it
white as snow.
For nothing good
have I
Whereby Thy grace
to claim;
I’ll wash my
garments white
In the blood of
Calv’ry’s Lamb.
And now complete in
Him,
My robe, His
righteousness,
Close sheltered
’neath His side,
I am divinely
blest.
Lord, now indeed I
find
Thy pow’r, and
Thine alone,
Can change the
*leper’s spots [*leopard’s]
And melt the heart
of stone.
When from my dying
bed
My ransomed soul
shall rise,
“Jesus died my
soul to save,”
Shall rend the
vaulted skies.
And when before the
throne
I stand in Him
complete,
I’ll lay my
trophies down,
All down at Jesus’
feet.

Twinkling Of An Eye
Bible Questions Answered:
“What is the twinkling of an eye?”
Shelly/Boise, Idaho U.S.A.
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
I Corinthians 15:51-58 KJV
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We
shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling*
of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and
the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on
incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall
have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on
immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is
written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O
grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and
the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which
giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren,
be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of
The Lord, forasmuch as ye know that
your labor is not in vain in The Lord.
*Twinkling-Greek:
Rhipe (Hree-pay): A jerk of the eye, an instant: twinkling.
I Corinthians
15:52 NLT
It will happen in a moment, in
the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the
trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever.
And we who are living will also be transformed.
I Corinthians
15:52 CEV
It will happen suddenly, quicker
than the blink of an eye. At the sound of the last trumpet the
dead will be raised. We will all be changed, so that we will never
die again.
I Corinthians
15:52 ERV
It will only take the time of a
second. We will be changed as quickly as an eye blinks.
This will happen when the last trumpet blows. The trumpet will blow
and those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we will
all be changed.
I Corinthians
15:51-54 MSG
But let me tell you something
wonderful, a mystery I’ll probably never fully understand. We’re
not all going to die—but we are all going to be changed. You hear a
blast to end all blasts from a trumpet, and in the time that you look
up and blink your eyes—it’s over. On signal from that
trumpet from heaven, the dead will be up and out of their graves,
beyond the reach of death, never to die again. At the same moment and
in the same way, we’ll all be changed.
So just how fast is
“the twinkling of an eye?” Scientists tell us it is
1/6,000,000,000th of a second.
Really fast!
Certainly no time to pray or get one self spiritually ready to meet
The Lord!
There is soon
coming the “secret-catching away,” of Christ's bride the church
of The Lord Jesus Christ.
I Thessalonians
4:13-18 NLT
13 And now, dear brothers and
sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who
have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope.
14 For since we believe that Jesus
died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus
returns, God will bring back with Him the believers who have died.
15 We tell you this directly from
The Lord: We who are still living when The Lord returns will not meet
Him ahead of those who have died.
16 For The Lord Himself will come
down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who
have died will rise from their graves.
17 Then, together with them, we who
are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the
clouds to meet The Lord in the air. Then we will be with The Lord
forever.
18 So encourage each other with
these words.
Our Savior warns,
the hour is late, the time of His coming is near:
Matthew 25:1-13
KJV
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven
be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth
to meet The Bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and
five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their
lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil (Oil
a type of The Holly Spirit) in their vessels with their
lamps.
5 While The Bridegroom tarried, they
all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry
made, Behold, The Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and
trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the
wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not
so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them
that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, The
Bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with Him to the
marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other
virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But He answered and said, Verily
I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know
neither the day nor the hour wherein The Son Of Man cometh.
Hebrews 4:7 KJV
"...To day if ye will hear His
voice, harden not your hearts.
Amos 4:12 KJV
"...prepare to meet thy God..."
“at midnight there was a cry
made, Behold, The Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him.”
II Corinthians
6:1,2 NLT
1 As God’s partners, we beg you
not to accept this marvelous Gift Of God’s Kindness and then ignore
it.
2 For God says, “At just the right
time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.”
Indeed, the “right time” is
now. Today is the day of salvation.
Romans 6:23 KJV
For the wages of sin is death; but
The Gift Of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Bible Lesson: Answered Prayer: A Tax Collector Begs God For Mercy.
Bible Lesson: Answered Prayer: A
Tax Collector Begs God For Mercy.
Subject Of Prayer: A Publican Prays
In Humility.
Bible Text:
Luke 18:9-14 NLT Parable of the
Pharisee and Tax Collector
9 Then Jesus told this story to some
who had great confidence in their own righteousness and scorned
everyone else:
10 “Two men went to the Temple to
pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax collector.
11 The Pharisee stood by himself and
prayed this prayer: ‘I thank you, God, that I am not a sinner like
everyone else. For I don’t cheat, I don’t sin, and I don’t
commit adultery. I’m certainly not like that tax collector!
12 I fast twice a week, and I give
you a tenth of my income.’
13 “But the tax collector stood at
a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed.
Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful
to me, for I am a sinner.’
14 I tell you, this sinner, not the
Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt
themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be
exalted.”
Collectors of the
Roman tax were called Publicans, so we see two distinct individuals
at the temple to pray, a Publican and a Pharisee. Life has not
changed much in 2000 years, in the church today, those who confess their sins and are truly repent,
trusting in the love and mercy of God for their salvation, and those
who proudly trust in their own good works for redemption, still
exist.
Both are religious,
yes, both are faithful in attending the temple, yes, both are given
to prayer, yes, both pray to The Living God, yes, but sadly there is
where the spiritual appearance ends.
Jesus told His
disciples this story:
Matthew 7:21-23
KJV (True Disciples.)
21 Not every one that saith unto Me,
Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the will of
My Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in
that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy
name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto
them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.
QUESTION:
Prophecy, exorcism, wonderful religious works, where are these works
done?
ANSWER:
Within the church of course.
Jesus tells us that
not all the lost are out on the broadways of sin and debauchery, but
within the very church itself!
Romans 3:23 KJV
For all have sinned, and come
short of the glory of God;
Ephesians 2:8,9
KJV
8 For by grace are ye saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves (Religious
Works Included): it is The Gift
Of God:
9 Not of works (Religious
Works Included), lest any man should boast.
Romans 6:23 KJV
For the wages of sin is death; but
The Gift Of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
In Matthew
7:21-23, These believed that their religious works, brought them
salvation (favor with God), but nothing could be any further from The
Truth! How do we know that? Jesus said so!
Matthew 7:23 KJV
“... I profess
unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that
work iniquity.
Why should these
religious workers within the church be call (by our Lord), Workers of
iniquity?
Didn't they do
wonderful religious works? Yes!
Didn't they
prophecy? Yes!
Didn't they perform
exorcisms? Yes!
But, these people
thought that their good works, “bought” them favor with God, and
The Truth is....
Ephesians 2:8,9
KJV
8 For by grace are ye saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves (Religious
Works Included): it is The Gift
Of God:
9 Not of works (Religious
Works Included), lest any man should boast.
And our Lord called
these proud religious workers, workers of iniquity because they
refused to bow, they refused to confess and repent of their sins, and
they refused to call upon The Lord for salvation.
John 10:1 KJV
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He
that entereth not by The Door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up
some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
I Corinthians
6:9,10 NLT
9 Don’t you realize that those who
do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool
yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or
commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality,
10 or are thieves,
or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none
of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.
Matthew 3:2 KJV
(Jesus said...)
"...Repent ye: for the
kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Matthew 4:17 KJV
From that time Jesus began to
preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at
hand.
Repentance:
Deep sorrow,
compunction, or contrition for a past sin, wrong doing, or the like.
Regret for any past
action.

Devil Rebuked
Bible Questions Answered:
“If angels can't condemn the devil,
how can people do it?
Rob/ Kyiv City, Kyiv Ukraine
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
Jude 1:9 KJV
Yet Michael the
archangel, when contending* with the devil he disputed about
the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation,
but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
*Contending-Greek: Diakrino (Dee-ak-ree-no): Oppose, contend,
doubt.
Michael
the Arch Angel (one of the mightiest of the angels NLT),
spent no time opposing the
devil, over the body of Moses, rather he merely, rebuked him in the
name of The Lord.
Does this mean,
that Christians should never rebuke the devil?
Jude, our Lord's
half brother, was addressing individuals who had crept into the
church...
Jude 1:4 NLT
"...ungodly people (who
had) wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s
marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The
condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have
denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
People who had no
regard for the holy things of God.
Jude 1:8 NLT
“...these people—who claim
authority from their dreams—live immoral lives, defy authority, and
scoff at supernatural beings.”
The men Jude was
warning about, had neither regard for God or angels. They were above
all Biblical teachings, for their dreams guided them to complete
freedom, as so they thought.
Yet in reality,
they were servants of the devil, and serve him, they did.
Jude warned that
even Arch Angel Michael, would not contend, would not argue, with the
devil, but authoritatively stated “
The Lord rebuke thee.”
And
as Christian people, who serve The Lord, we are called to be serious
minded...
I Peter 4:7 KJV
But
the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober*,
and watch unto prayer.
*Sober-Greek:
Sophroneo (So-fron-eh-o): To be
of sound mind, moderate, be in right mind, be sober (minded).
I Peter 5:8 KJV
Be
sober*, be vigilant;
because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about,
seeking whom he may devour:
*Sober-Greek:
Nepho (Nay-fo): Be discreet: be
sober, watch.
And when we
confront the enemy, we too are to be resolute in doing The Lord's
work, The Lord's way.
Luke 10:17-20
KJV
17 And the seventy returned again
with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through
thy name.
18 And He said unto them, I beheld
Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to
tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy:
and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20 Notwithstanding in this
rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather
rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
ARE CHRISTIANS
TO DO THE WORKS THAT JESUS DID?
John 14:12-14
KJV
12 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that
I do shall he do also; and greater works than these
shall he do; because I go unto My Father.
13 And
whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that The Father
may be glorified in The Son.
14 If ye shall
ask any thing in My name, I will do it.

KJV
35 And Jesus
rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when
the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt
him not.
41 And devils
also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the
Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they
knew that he was Christ.
Luke 7:11-15 KJV
11 Soon
afterward Jesus went with His disciples to the village of Nain, and a
large crowd followed Him. 12 A funeral procession was coming out as
He approached the village gate. The young man who had died was a
widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with her.
13 When The
Lord saw her, His heart overflowed with compassion. “Don’t cry!”
He said.
14 Then He
walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped.
“Young man,” He said, “I tell you, get up.” 15 Then the dead
boy sat up and began to talk! And Jesus gave him back to his mother.
Luke 9:42 KJV
And as he was
yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus
rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him
again to his father.
Luke 13:11-13
KJV
11 And, behold,
there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and
was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

art loosed from thine infirmity.
13 And He laid
His hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and
glorified God.

18 They shall
take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not
hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Romans 8:35,37
KJV
