Bible Questions Answered: Levites.

Bible Questions Answered:
Why did God choose the Levites of all the people to be his priests?
Conroy/ Bonn, Germany

Bible Answer:

When Moses descended Mount Sinai with the ten commandments, he discovered that the children of Israel, had made themselves a golden calf to worship.

Moses called for a separation between those who had hearts given over to sin, and those who would through repentance, remain faithful to the living God.

Exodus 32:26-29 NLT
26 So he (Moses) stood at the entrance to the camp and shouted, “All of you who are on the Lord’s side, come here and join me.” And all the Levites gathered around him.
27 Moses told them, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Each of you, take your swords and go back and forth from one end of the camp to the other. Kill everyone—even your brothers, friends, and neighbors.”
28 The Levites obeyed Moses’ command, and about 3,000 people died that day.
29 Then Moses told the Levites, “Today you have ordained yourselves for the service of the Lord, for you obeyed Him even though it meant killing your own sons and brothers. Today you have earned a blessing.”

And so the Levites became a people separated unto the Lord.

Numbers 8:16-22 NLT
16 “Of all the people of Israel, the Levites are reserved for Me. I have claimed them for Myself in place of all the firstborn sons of the Israelites; I have taken the Levites as their substitutes.
17 For all the firstborn males among the people of Israel are Mine, both of people and of animals. I set them apart for Myself on the day I struck down all the firstborn sons of the Egyptians.
18 Yes, I have claimed the Levites in place of all the firstborn sons of Israel.
19 And of all the Israelites, I have assigned the Levites to Aaron and his sons. They will serve in the Tabernacle on behalf of the Israelites and make sacrifices to purify the people so no plague will strike them when they approach the sanctuary.”
20 So Moses, Aaron, and the whole community of Israel dedicated the Levites, carefully following all the Lord’s instructions to Moses.
21 The Levites purified themselves from sin and washed their clothes, and Aaron lifted them up and presented them to the Lord as a special offering. He then offered a sacrifice to purify them and make them right with the Lord.
22 After that the Levites went into the Tabernacle to perform their duties, assisting Aaron and his sons. So they carried out all the commands that the Lord gave Moses concerning the Levites.

The Levites, a people consecrated to God, owned no land as the other tribes did. They lived of the crops near their settlements, and offerings made at sanctuaries.
The Lord was their inheritance.

Numbers 18:20-24 NLT
20 And the Lord said to Aaron, “You priests will receive no allotment of land or share of property among the people of Israel. I am your share and your allotment.
21 As for the tribe of Levi, your relatives, I will compensate them for their service in the Tabernacle. Instead of an allotment of land, I will give them the tithes from the entire land of Israel.
22 “From now on, no Israelites except priests or Levites may approach the Tabernacle. If they come too near, they will be judged guilty and will die.
23 Only the Levites may serve at the Tabernacle, and they will be held responsible for any offenses against it. This is a permanent law for you, to be observed from generation to generation. The Levites will receive no allotment of land among the Israelites,
24 because I have given them the Israelites’ tithes, which have been presented as sacred offerings to the Lord. This will be the Levites’ share. That is why I said they would receive no allotment of land among the Israelites.”

Our God, always sets apart for blessings those who choose to live for Him.

Psalm 4:3 KJV
But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for Himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto Him.

I Corinthians 1:26-31 KJV
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in His presence.
30 But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

II Corinthians 6:14-18 KJV
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

James 2:5 KJV
Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which He hath promised to them that love Him?

I Peter 2:9,10 KJV
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Bible Questions Answered: B.C.E./ C.E

Bible Questions Answered:
Pastor, I have heard on a local television channel, that uses the phrase b c e and not B.C. or A.D.
What do these stand for, as I can't ever remember them.

Bible Text:
I Timothy 4:1 KJV
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Psalm 53:1 KJV
"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity..."

I Corinthians 1:18 KJV
"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness..."

This pastor would have “nothing,” to do, as far as listening to and or support, for such Godless broadcasting!
We are living in a “politically correct,” world of Christian denial.

B.C.E. (is) Before Common Era, (An atheist's way of saying (B.C.) Before Christ).
C.E. (is) Common Era, (An atheist's way of saying Anno Domini (A.D.) in the year of our Lord).

II Timothy 2:12 KJV
If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us:

Titus 1:16 KJV
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny Him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

II Peter 2:1 KJV
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

Christian people should write or call such a station, to let them know they do “not,” appreciate their denial of the Christian faith!

Joshua 24:15 KJV
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Bible Questions Answered: Church-Powerless.

Bible Questions Answered:
Recently I read that a pastor is offering prizes in the church, like radios, CD players and cash, all to get people into his church. I don't know, but something tells me this is crazy.

Bible Answer:

Bible Text:
Mark 10:17-25 KJV (Matthew 19:16-22/ Luke 18:18-27)
17 And when He was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to Him, and asked Him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou Me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honor thy father and mother.
20 And he answered and said unto Him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.
22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto His disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24 And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

We read in this story that a wealthy young ruler (chief elder of a synagogue), who ran to Jesus asking the question “Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” When he tells the Lord he has kept the last six commandments, Jesus had mentioned, yet the Lord did not ask him of the first four.

Mark 10:21 KJV
“Then Jesus beholding him loved him...”

Exodus 20:3-11 KJV

(First Commandment)
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.

(Second Commandment)
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love Me, and keep My commandments.

(Third Commandment)
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.

(Fourth Commandment)
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Our Lord, knew this young man's god, was his wealth.
He could “not,” say he had kept the first four commandments.

Mark 10:21,22 KJV
21...(Jesus) said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.

(He could “not.”)
22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

An all important point in this poignant story is, tough Jesus loved him, He did “not,” go running after him, begging him to reconsider!
“Look you're on your way to hell, stop, turnaround! I won't let you walk away like this!!”
No, Jesus NEVER SAID, OR DID THAT!

Read the story again if you need to. Jesus gave the young man the truth that he came seeking for, but the young man choose to hold dear to his money and all the influence it bought!
“No,” he would “not,” sell all that he had and give to the poor, for some unseen treasure in heaven!

We must Never, Ever go where our blessed Saviour has not lead us to go!
The gospel we preach is “Precious,” it is a “Treasure,” most Priceless!
What was it our Saviour told us?

Matthew 7:6 KJV
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Matthew 10:14
And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

We are NEVER to cheapen the Blessed Word of God, by forcing it upon anyone, be it by clever tricks for adherence, turning sacred worship over to rock groups for the sake of the young or any other fleshly failing scheme etc. etc. etc....

God help us!
How pathetic and utterly profane.
Is it any wonder why the house of God is for the most part today, powerless and pitiless?

What "will bring" the lost, be they young or old, IS THE MIGHTY POWER OF THE LIVING GOD!
What our church lacks today, is the Power of God.
What was it Jesus told his powerless disciples they lacked?
They lacked “fasting and prayer,” (Matthew 17:21).

A Church Of Power:

Matthew 9:8 KJV
But when the multitudes saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

Matthew 10:1 KJV
And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples, He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

Mark 3:14,15 KJV
14 And He ordained twelve, that they should be with Him, and that He might send them forth to preach,
15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

Mark 6:7 KJV
And He called unto Him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;

Luke 9:1,2 KJV
1 Then He called His twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
2 And He sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

Luke 10:17-19 KJV
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And He said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Luke 24:49 KJV
And, behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

John 1:12 KJV
But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:

Acts 1:8 KJV
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts 2:39 KJV (And Peter said...)
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

Acts 4:33 KJV
And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

Acts 6:8 KJV
And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

Romans 15:13,19 KJV
13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

I Corinthians 2:4,5 KJV (Apostle Paul)
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

I Corinthians 4:20 KJV
For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

Ephesians 6:10 KJV
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.

Colossians 1:10-11 KJV
10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and long suffering with joyfulness;

I Thessalonians 1:5 KJV
For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

II Timothy 1:7 KJV
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Revelation 2:26 KJV
And he that over cometh, and keepeth My works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

Revelation 11:3 KJV
And I will give power unto My two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

Friends, if we wish to see the church victorious, then we must be willing to pay the price for the mighty Power of God.
Young and old will come into the Kingdom of God, young and old, will be liberated of their bands of spiritual and physical bondage.

In these “last days,” let us one by one raise up the church triumphant, that instead of defeat, and despair, we may place at the Masters feet, victories won for the kingdom of the living God.

We have tried to no extent, human ingenuity, now before it is too late, for the sake of countless others, let us give ourselves over to the mighty power of God.

Bible Lesson: Passover Lamb.

Bible Lesson: Passover Lamb.

First lamb sacrifice.
Genesis 3:6-10;21 NLT
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

The first lamb sacrifice, was made by the Lord, in the presence of Adam and Eve.
First it was a sacrifice for their sins, the skin of the lamb becoming their clothing.
This information Cain and Abel, well knew, from the lips of their parents.

This first sacrifice was but a foretelling of a far off sacrifice, one that would not just cover sins, but cleanse and forgive them.

Another lamb sacrificed.
Exodus 12:1-14 NLT
1 While the Israelites were still in the land of Egypt, the Lord gave the following instructions to Moses and Aaron:
2 “From now on, this month will be the first month of the year for you.
3 Announce to the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each family must choose a lamb or a young goat for a sacrifice, one animal for each household.
4 If a family is too small to eat a whole animal, let them share with another family in the neighborhood. Divide the animal according to the size of each family and how much they can eat.
5 The animal you select must be a one-year-old male, either a sheep or a goat, with no defects.
6 “Take special care of this chosen animal until the evening of the fourteenth day of this first month. Then the whole assembly of the community of Israel must slaughter their lamb or young goat at twilight.
7 They are to take some of the blood and smear it on the sides and top of the door frames of the houses where they eat the animal.
8 That same night they must roast the meat over a fire and eat it along with bitter salad greens and bread made without yeast.
9 Do not eat any of the meat raw or boiled in water. The whole animal—including the head, legs, and internal organs—must be roasted over a fire.
10 Do not leave any of it until the next morning. Burn whatever is not eaten before morning.
11 “These are your instructions for eating this meal: Be fully dressed, wear your sandals, and carry your walking stick in your hand. Eat the meal with urgency, for this is the Lord’s Passover.
12 On that night I will pass through the land of Egypt and strike down every firstborn son and firstborn male animal in the land of Egypt. I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt, for I am the Lord!
13 But the blood on your doorposts will serve as a sign, marking the houses where you are staying. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt.
14 “This is a day to remember. Each year, from generation to generation, you must celebrate it as a special festival to the Lord. This is a law for all time.

Four hundred years of Egyptian suppression was about to come to an end. Nine plagues warning Pharaoh, to let go of the people of God, had failed.

Exodus 11:1,4-10 NLT
1 Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will strike Pharaoh and the land of Egypt with one more blow. After that, Pharaoh will let you leave this country. In fact, he will be so eager to get rid of you that he will force you all to leave.
4 Moses had announced to Pharaoh, “This is what the Lord says: At midnight tonight I will pass through the heart of Egypt.
5 All the firstborn sons will die in every family in Egypt, from the oldest son of Pharaoh, who sits on his throne, to the oldest son of his lowliest servant girl who grinds the flour. Even the firstborn of all the livestock will die.
6 Then a loud wail will rise throughout the land of Egypt, a wail like no one has heard before or will ever hear again.
7 But among the Israelites it will be so peaceful that not even a dog will bark. Then you will know that the Lord makes a distinction between the Egyptians and the Israelites.
8 All the officials of Egypt will run to me and fall to the ground before me. ‘Please leave!’ they will beg. ‘Hurry! And take all your followers with you.’ Only then will I go!” Then, burning with anger, Moses left Pharaoh.
9 Now the Lord had told Moses earlier, “Pharaoh will not listen to you, but then I will do even more mighty miracles in the land of Egypt.”
10 Moses and Aaron performed these miracles in Pharaoh’s presence, but the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he wouldn’t let the Israelites leave the country.

And so the night of the passover was instituted.
This night was a forerunner of another night that would one day come on Mount Calvary. Here too another Lamb would be sacrificed. Did you notice the descriptions of Moses lamb to be sacrificed?

Verse 3: A sacrificial Lamb.
Verse 4: Nourishment for the whole house.
Verse 5: A male with no defects.
Verse 6: A Chosen animal.
Verse 7: The saving blood of the Lamb was to be applied on the door (posts) frames of the house.
Verse 13: When I see the blood I will pass over you.

Another interesting Bible story about sacrifice.

Genesis 22:1-14 NLT
1 Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called. “Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.”
2 “Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”
3 The next morning Abraham got up early. He saddled his donkey and took two of his servants with him, along with his son, Isaac. Then he chopped wood for a fire for a burnt offering and set out for the place God had told him about.
4 On the third day of their journey, Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.
5 “Stay here with the donkey,” Abraham told the servants. “The boy and I will travel a little farther. We will worship there, and then we will come right back.”
6 So Abraham placed the wood for the burnt offering on Isaac’s shoulders, while he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them walked on together,
7 Isaac turned to Abraham and said, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “We have the fire and the wood,” the boy said, “but where is the sheep for the burnt offering?”
8 “God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham answered. And they both walked on together.
9 When they arrived at the place where God had told him to go, Abraham built an altar and arranged the wood on it. Then he tied his son, Isaac, and laid him on the altar on top of the wood.
10 And Abraham picked up the knife to kill his son as a sacrifice.
11 At that moment the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”“Yes,” Abraham replied. “Here I am!”
12 “Don’t lay a hand on the boy!” the angel said. “Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld from Me even your son, your only son.”
13 Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket. So he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of his son.
14 Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the Lord will provide”). To this day,
people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”

Key verses of Genesis 22:

Verse 2: Only son (Isaac).
Verse 8: “God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering,
Verse 10: His son as a sacrifice.
Verse 14: “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.” Jehovah Jireh: The Lord will provide.

The passover Lamb of God:

Psalm 22:12-18 KJV
12 Many bulls have compassed Me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset Me round.
13 They gaped upon Me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
14 I am poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint: My heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and My tongue cleaveth to My jaws; and thou hast brought Me into the dust of death.
16 For dogs have compassed Me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed Me: they pierced My hands and My feet.
17 I may tell all My bones: they look and stare upon Me.
18 They part My garments among them, and cast lots upon My vesture.

Isaiah 53:1-12 KJV
1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: He hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a Man of Sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.
4 Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought as a Lamb to the slaughter, and as a Sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He openeth not His mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare His generation? for He was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was He stricken.
9 And He made His grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death; because He had done no violence, neither was any deceit in His mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He hath put Him to grief: when thou shalt make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied: by His knowledge shall my Righteous Servant justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He hath poured out His soul unto death: and He was numbered with the transgressors; and He bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

John 1:29 KJV
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

I Corinthians 5:7 KJV
"...Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us"

I Peter 1:18-20 KJV
18 For as much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

Revelation 7:9 KJV
After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

Revelation 12:10,11 KJV
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Revelation 13:8 KJV
"... the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

Revelation 14:1 KJV
And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with Him an hundred forty and four thousand, having His Father's name written in their foreheads.

Revelation 15:3 KJV
And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of Saints.

Revelation 17:14 KJV
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Revelation 19:7-9 KJV
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Revelation 21:22 KJV
And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

Do you know this Lamb of God, that taketh away the sins of the world? He died for you.

Bible Questions Answered: Church-God's

Bible Questions Answered:
I hear of churches having one kind of a problem or another. What is a good church?
Karen/ Ottawa, Canada

Bible Answer:

God's Church:

Is a church that is a loving, caring church:

John 13:34,35 KJV
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another.

John 15:12 KJV
This is My commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

Acts 4:34,35 KJV
34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

Is a church that is a praying church:

Matthew 18:19 KJV
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven.

Acts 1:14 KJV
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brethren.

Acts 4:24 KJV
And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:

Is a church that is in unity:

Psalm 133:1-3 KJV
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

I Corinthians 1:10 KJV
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

II Corinthians 13:11 KJV
Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Is a church that is filled with the Spirit:

Acts 4:31 KJV
And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Acts 13:52 KJV
And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.

Is a church that witnesses:

Isaiah 43:10-12 KJV
10 Ye are My witnesses, saith the LORD, and My servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He: before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me.
11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside Me there is no Saviour.
12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are My witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.

Acts 5:32 KJV
And we are His witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey Him.

Is a church that is a working church:

Acts 2:46 KJV
And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Acts 5:42 KJV
And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

Philippians 4:3 KJV
And I intreat thee also, true yoke fellow, help those women which labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellow laborers, whose names are in the book of life.

Is a church that is triumphant:

Joshua 1:5 KJV
There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

John 14:23 KJV
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love Me, he will keep My words: and My Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Matthew 16:18 KJV
"...upon this Rock (Peter's confession:Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.) I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Bible Lesson: Miracles Of Jesus: Man Born Blind Healed

Bible Lesson: Miracles Of Jesus: Man Born Blind, Healed.

Bible Location: Jerusalem.

Bible Text: John 9:1-41 KJV
1 And as Jesus passed by, He saw a man which was blind from his birth.
2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
4 I must work the works of Him that sent Me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
6 When He had thus spoken, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
8 The neighbors therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
9 Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
10 Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?
11 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.
12 Then said they unto him, Where is He? He said, I know not.
13 They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.
14 And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
15 Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.
16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because He keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
17 They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of Him, that He hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.
18 But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.
19 And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?
20 His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:
21 But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.
22 These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that He was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
23 Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
24 Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this Man is a sinner.
25 He answered and said, Whether He be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
26 Then said they to him again, What did He to thee? how opened He thine eyes?
27 He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be His disciples?
28 Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art His disciple; but we are Moses' disciples.
29 We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this Fellow, we know not from whence He is.
30 The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvelous thing, that ye know not from whence He is, and yet He hath opened mine eyes.
31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshiper of God, and doeth his will, Him he heareth.
32 Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.
33 If this Man were not of God, he could do nothing.
34 They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
36 He answered and said, Who is He, Lord, that I might believe on Him?
37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen Him, and it is He that talketh with thee.
38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshiped Him.
39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
40 And some of the Pharisees which were with Him heard these words, and said unto Him, Are we blind also?
41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

John 9:1,2 KJV
1 And as Jesus passed by, He saw a man which was blind from his birth.
2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

Coming from the temple, beggars were there aligned, so as to extract the generosity of the passing throngs. Jesus saw a blind man, one who had been blind since birth.

The disciples eagerly submitted their theological take on the situation, “Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?”

Certainly in the depths of their thinking it had to be the one or the other. Certainly it is true that sin may take away ones health, but the disciples admitted they did not know.

Perhaps it was a case of the sins of the fathers being passed on to the children, which again could happen, and again, they did not know.

John 9:3 KJV
Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

Jesus corrected His over zealous disciples, “Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents:”

Oh how careful we must be in judging others!

Reasons for personal affliction:
1) Personal sin.
2) Sin of parents.
3) For the glory of God.
4) Testing of ones faith (Job's testing.)
5) Accidents.
6)

Matthew 7:1-5 NLT
1 “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.
2 For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.
3 “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?
4 How can you think of saying to your friend,‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye?
5 Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.

John 9:3 KJV
...but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

Had this man grown into adulthood, blind, so that Jesus could show He was the Son of God?
It seems so, who are we to question God?

Psalm 145:17 KJV
The LORD is righteous in all His ways, and holy in all His works.

Isaiah 55:8,9 KJV
8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

Romans 11:33,34 KJV
33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!
34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been His counselor?

John 9:4,5 KJV
4 I must work the works of Him that sent Me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

Jesus “had not,” come to teach this man braille, or teach him how to be a more successful beggar!
Jesus “had come,” to care for, and to give to him as no other, giving him physical sight and then that which is spiritual so that forever the man would be able to see.

John 13:15 KJV
For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

I Timothy 4:12 KJV
"...but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

I Peter 2:21 KJV
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps:

Every Christian, is to be busy doing the works of God. The time will come soon enough for everyone when the day of labor will be for ever over.

It is not hard to ask one's self, just what am I doing as far as work for the kingdom of heaven, but it may be painful, if indeed one is truly honest.

Matthew 5:16 KJV
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father (not you or any other one) which is in heaven.

John 9:6,7 KJV
6 When He had thus spoken, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) …”

This account is some what familiar to that of the king of Syria, King Naaman (II Kings 5:1-14), whereupon our Lord, used the prophet Elisha to cleanse the King from leprosy.

Why did our Lord require of the king seven plunges beneath the muddy Jordan river?
Why did our Lord, make clay, and put it on the blind man's eyes?

1) For the opportunity of an act of faith by the recipient.
2) For the opportunity of those present to exercise their trust or distrust.
3) For the opportunity of drawing those of trust to draw closer, while helping those of distrust to go further away.

What might seem to come as total amazement of some, is the simple fact that our Lord has come to help all! And if your choice is to cherish Him as the Messiah, Saviour that He is, He will draw near to you and bless you.
But for those who of their own volition, choose to refuse and reject with their last breath, the blest Saviour, yes, He will help them, help them to go further away!

Oh, how the Pharisees must have mocked, seeing the blind man fending his way to the waters of Siloam. “Surely, if he finds the water at all, at best he will fall in and drown” no doubt they roared.

In Matthew the twenty third chapter, Jesus spoke at length, concerning the Scribes and Pharisees.
Everyday, we are presented with the opportunity of being for or against, and one day when the books are opened, all will be revealed.

John 9:7 KJV
“...He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

The Lord our Healer:

Luke 4:16-21 KJV (Isaiah 42:7/Isaiah 58:6,7/Isaiah 61:1)
16 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and, as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17 And there was delivered unto Him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And He closed the book, and He gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on Him.
21 And He began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Does the Lord heal the sick today?

Malachi 3:6 KJV
"For I am the LORD, I change not..."

Mark 16:15-18 KJV
15 And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 ...they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Luke 10:19 KJV
“Behold, I give unto you power...over all the power of the enemy:
and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

John 9:8-34 KJV
Pharisaical nonsense.

First, they don't believe the healed man is really the blind man, even when the man's parents testify that it is him, and having the man speak for himself, they are not really sure.

How were you healed? The man tells them, but they ask the same question again.
The Pharisees maintain that the healer, has done this work (making a mixture of spittle and clay) on the sabbath, and is therefore a sinner, and the man, at best is a disciple of his.

The healed man replies, Jesus must be a prophet, for since the very beginning, no one has opened the eyes of the blind.

The Pharisees seriously doubt the man was ever blind.

The Wondrous testimony of the blind man.
John 9:25 KJV
He answered and said, Whether He be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.

The Pharisee's said we believe Moses, but certainly not this sinner.

The blind man testified...
John 9:33 KJV (See Nicodemus' words John 3:2.)
If this Man were not of God, He could do nothing.

John 9:34 KJV

They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.

The Pharisees excommunicated the man from the temple, his sin was that of being a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:16-18 KJV
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Nothing can convince a person, who's heart has been hardened with sin, that Jesus is the Messiah.
Many a sinner has stood to say, show me God, and I will believe, but the simple fact is even if that were to be done, as it had been done in the life of the Lord Jesus, still they would not, believe.

Proverbs 29:1 KJV
He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

John 9:35-38 KJV
35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
36 He answered and said, Who is He, Lord, that I might believe on Him?
37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen Him, and it is He that talketh with thee.
38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshiped Him.

Jesus the Son of Man:

John 5:26,27 KJV
26 For as the Father hath life in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself;
27 And hath given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.

Acts 7:56 KJV (Stephen)
And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God.

John 9:39-41 KJV
39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
40 And some of the Pharisees which were with Him heard these words, and said unto Him, Are we blind also?
41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

John 9:39-41 NLT
39 Then Jesus told him, “I entered this world to render judgment—to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind.”
40 Some Pharisees who were standing nearby heard Him and asked, “Are you saying we’re blind?”
41 “If you were blind, you wouldn’t be guilty,” Jesus replied. “But you remain guilty because you claim you can see.

I Corinthians 18-31 KJV
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

Bible Questions Answered: Psalm 91

Bible Questions Answered:
I don't see how scriptures like psalm 91 are relevant for today. Should I fear some fowler or someone with a bow and arrow?
Jason/ Chicago, Illinois U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Yes!

Bible Text:
Psalm 91:1-16 KJV
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my Refuge and my Fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.

3 Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4 He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the Most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 Because He hath set His love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him My salvation.

Psalm 91, speaks about our spiritual enemy.

I Peter 5:8 KJV
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Here are a few titles of our enemy:

Abaddon (Revelation 9:11)
Accuser (of the brethren, Revelation 12:10)
Adversary (I Peter 5:8)
Angel of the bottomless pit (Revelation 9:11)
Apollyon (Revelation 9:11)
Belial (II Corinthians 6:15)
Beelzebub (Matthew 12:24)
Devil (Matthew 4:1)
God of this world (II Corinthians 4:4)
Murderer (John 8:44)
Prince of devils (Matthew 12:24)
Prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2)
Prince of this world (John 14:30)
Ruler of darkness (Ephesians 6:12)
Serpent (Genesis 3:4)
Tempter (Matthew 4:3)
Unclean spirit (Matthew 12:43)
Wicked one (Matthew 13:19)

See any of those descriptions in Psalm 91?
Now should you be concerned over the enemies arrows?
Oh yes!

Our enemy is an archer- why isn't he ever called such, because he surely is!
Let us take a look at him to be sure.

Revelation 6:1,2 KJV
1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

We know this, to be a picture of the coming Anti-Christ (Son of Satan), by the company he keeps-war, famine and, death (Revelation 6:1-8).

The bow, uses only one thing, arrows.
Is Satan, an archer? Yes.

The Apostle Paul, warned the Ephesian believers...
Ephesians 6:16 KJV (Be sure to read all the words of the Apostle Ephesians 6:10-18.)
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked (one”- authors insertion).

Ephesians 6:11 KJV
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles* of the devil.

*Wiles-Greek: Methodeia (Meth-od-i-ah): Wile, lie in wait.

What are Satan's fiery darts, flaming arrows? Evil thoughts, desires, greed, lusts, temptations, hate, division, etc. etc.
Should you be concerned over Satan's fiery darts? Yes, that is why the Apostle warned to be sure to have the Shield of Faith!

Should we be concerned about the fowler, the one who snares his prey?
Yes, because it is his goal to trap and, ensnare us!

Job 18:8-10 NLT
8 The wicked walk into a net. They fall into a pit.
9 A trap grabs them by the heel. A snare holds them tight.
10 A noose lies hidden on the ground. A rope is stretched across their path.

Jeremiah 5:26 KJV
"...wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

Luke 21:34-36 KJV
34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.

I Timothy 3:6,7 KJV (Paul's qualifications for a deacon.)
6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

II Timothy 2:26 KJV
And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Proverbs 13:14 KJV
The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

Did you notice the wonderful promise of the one who will never leave nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5)?

Psalm 91:4 KJV
He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

This lovingly speaks of the mother eagle, caring for the eaglets.
A must read, the blog... Mother-Love

Yes, this psalm, couldn't be more up to date for us, who name the name of Christ.
We have a very real spiritual enemy, and he will do everything he can do to dissuade us from the narrow path of righteousness.

Matthew 7:13,14 KJV
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Psalm 46:1-7 KJV
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered His voice, the earth melted.
7 The LORD of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Colossians 3:1-4 KJV
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

I Thessalonians 4:14-18 KJV
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep (have died in Christ).
16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.
4 And when the Chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

I John 3:1-3 KJV
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not.

10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that over cometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
26 And he that over cometh, and keepeth My works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of My Father.
28 And I will give him the Morning Star.
29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Revelation 3:5,12,21,22 KJV
5 He that over cometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels.
12 Him that over cometh will I make a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from My God: and I will write upon him My new name.
21 To him that over cometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in His throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Revelation 7:13-17 KJV

14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple: and He that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Revelation 20:4 KJV
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Revelation 21:6,7,10,24-27 KJV
6 And He said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that over cometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be My son.
10 And He carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Do you know the Lord Jesus, as your Saviour and coming King?

Bible Questions Answered: Where Is God?

Bible Questions Answered:
When I witness, all I hear is show me God and I will believe. What do I say?
Roxy/ New York, New York

Bible Answer:
God is everywhere, He is omnipresent.

Jeremiah 23:24 KJV
23 Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?
24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

Proverbs 15:3 KJV
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Acts 17:26-28 KJV
26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after Him, and find Him, though He be not far from every one of us:
28 For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also His offspring.

Most things are invisible. Atomic, subatomic, gravity, radio waves, love, hate, the wind, etc. etc.
Just because something is not seen, hardly negates it's existence.

Psalm 42:1-11 NLT
1 As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God.
2 I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before Him?
3 Day and night I have only tears for food, while my enemies continually taunt me, saying, “Where is this God of yours?”
4 My heart is breaking as I remember how it used to be: I walked among the crowds of worshipers, leading a great procession to the house of God, singing for joy and giving thanks amid the sound of a great celebration!
5 Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise Him again— my Savior and
6 my God! Now I am deeply discouraged, but I will remember you— even from distant Mount Hermon, the source of the Jordan, from the land of Mount Mizar.
7 I hear the tumult of the raging seas as your waves and surging tides sweep over me.
8 But each day the Lord pours His unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing His songs, praying to God who gives me life.
9 “O God my Rock,” I cry, “Why have you forgotten me? Why must I wander around in grief, oppressed by my enemies?”
10 Their taunts break my bones. They scoff, “Where is this God of yours?”
11 Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise Him again— my Savior and my God!

Where is God?

His presence is ever before us.
Exodus 13:21 KJV
And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

His presence is beneath us.

The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and He shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

His presence is above us.
Joshua 2:11 KJV
And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.

His presence is around about us.
Psalm 125:2 KJV
As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about His people from henceforth even for ever.

His presence goes with us (Christians) through the gates of death.
Psalm 139:8 NLT
If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there.

II Corinthians 5:8 KJV
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

His presence is behind us.
Isaiah 30:21 KJV
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

His presence is always with us.
Isaiah 41:10-13 KJV
10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness.
11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.
12 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.
13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Hebrews 13:5 KJV
"... I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

His presence is within us.
Colossians 1:27 KJV
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Dear one, this great living God, longs to be your Saviour and friend.

Bible Questions Answered: Serpent-Eden

Bible Questions Answered:
In genesis 3:14 God told the serpent that he would because of his sin, be forced to crawl upon his belly, well how did he travel before this curse?
Sherman / Boston, Massachusetts U.S.A.

Bible Answer:
Genesis 3:14 KJV
And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle*, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

The bible tells us that (same verse) the serpent, was once looked upon as cattle.

*Hebrew-BeHemah-(Be-hay-maw): A dumb beast, any...quadruped or animal, beast, cattle.
(Abingdon's Strong's Concordance of the Bible.)

It certainly would seem as a surprise to us, to see a herb of walking serpents, but by interpretation of “BeHemah,” such was the case in the days of Adam and Eve.

In April, 2006, Patagonia, Argentina a fossil of a most primitive snake was found. Called “Najash rionegrina” the serpent had a sacrum which is a bony feature supporting a pelvis. The serpent had two small rear legs. Snakes have often been considered a relative of the lizard family.
(More information, Hussam Zaher University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.)

Sooner of later, science and history prove the Bible to be the very word of God!

II Peter 1:16-21 NLT
16 For we were not making up clever stories when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We saw His majestic splendor with our own eyes
17 when He received honor and glory from God the Father. The voice from the majestic glory of God said to Him, “This is My dearly loved Son, who brings Me great joy.”
18 We ourselves heard that voice from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.
19 Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts.
20 Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding,
21 or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.

Bible Questions Answered: Christian Duties

Bible Question:
“well if Christian, what do we have to do?”
Ira/ New Zealand

Bible Answer:

Christian Duties:

A life given to Consecration, to the Lord:

Romans 12:1 KJV
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

I Thessalonians 5:23,24 NLT
23 Now may the God of Peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.
24 God will make this happen, for He who calls you is faithful.

A life given to mortifying the deeds of the flesh:

Colossians 3:5,6 NLT
5 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
6 Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming.

Romans 8:6,13 KJV
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

A Life given to holiness:

I Thessalonians 5:22 KJV
Abstain from all appearance of evil.

II Timothy 2:19 KJV
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Hebrews 12:14 KJV
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

A life given to prayer:

Ephesians 6:18 KJV
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

I Thessalonians 5:17 KJV
Pray without ceasing.

I Timothy 2:8 KJV
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

A life given to self-denial:

Matthew 5:29, 30 KJV
29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

(This is a metaphor used by our Lord, speaking of real physical objects, yes, but only in a figure of speech, so as in an implied comparison. A comparison between the heart and ones desires. The feet are not to be blamed for running after evil, never, for it has been the heart of man that has directed them.)

Galatians 5:24,25 KJV
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

I Corinthians 10:24 KJV
Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others.

A life given to separation from the world:

Exodus 32:26 KJV
Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.

Joshua 24:15,16 KJV
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
16 And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;

A life given to serve:

Deuteronomy 10:12,13 KJV
12 And now,... what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
13 To keep the commandments of the LORD, and His statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

Matthew 10:42 KJV
And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Hebrew 12:28 KJV
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and Godly fear:
