Church-How To Find The Right

Bible Questions Answered:
“...how can you tell the right church...”
Andrew/ Toronto, Canada

Bible Answer:

First of all, you must ask the Lord to show you, the church of His choice.

Isaiah 8:20 KJV
To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

* Be sure the church you go to, acknowledges that the Holy Bible is the Infallible, Inspired, Word of God.
The Bible being the very words of God, not containing God's word, but is trough and through, "the very word of the Lord."

Matthew 24:35 KJV (Jesus)
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

II Timothy 3:16, 17 KJV
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

II Peter 1:21 KJV
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

* Who do they say, Jesus Christ is?
The Lord Jesus Christ is "Eternal-God, with the Eternal-Father, and Eternal-Holy Spirit."

Colossians 2:9 KJV
For in Him (The Lord Jesus Christ.) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

* Be sure they're theology is correct.

I Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

This is the gospel message:
Christ (sinless) died for our sins.
Christ was buried.
Christ rose again the third day.

* Christ now seated at the right hand of God, the Father in heaven.

Colossians 3:1 KJV
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

* Christ's salvation is "not," by the works (religious or other wise) the works of man, but is a free "gift," through faith.

Romans 6:23 KJV
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 5:1 KJV
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Titus 3:5 KJV
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

* Christ's salvation is through His precious blood.

I Peter 18,19 KJV
18 For as much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot:

* Christ is the head of the church, a position, "never" given to any other!

Colossians 1:18,19 KJV
18 And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence.
19 For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fulness dwell;

Ephesians 1:20-23 KJV
20 Which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the Head over all things to the church,
23 Which is His body, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all.

* Christians are a part of the body of Christ.

I Corinthians 12:12,13 KJV
12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

* Christians in Christ are, priests.

I Peter 2:5,9 KJV
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

In the early church, believers met in their homes.
Romans 16:5 KJV
Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my well-beloved Epaenetus, who is the first fruits of Achaia unto Christ.

Philemon 2 KJV
And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in thy house:

* Early Christian meetings:

Acts 2:42 KJV
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

* In the church of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy spirit's authority, and power, should be realized.
His guidance, His discipline, or His leadership in our worship.

II Corinthians 3:17 KJV
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Ephesians 4;3 KJV
Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

* To those who do not believe the truth of the gospel:

I Corinthians 5:13 KJV
But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Galatians 1:6-9 KJV
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

II John 10
If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

Revelation 22:18-21 KJV
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Conceitedness-Religious Vanity

Bible Questions Answered:
“My wife says I'm too religious, her sister gave her a verse about me saying -don't be too righteous.” I never heard this one before, what do you think?”
Conley/ Phoenix, Arizona U.S.A.

Bible Answer:
Ecclesiastes 7:16 KJV
Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself ?

Conceit:
Favorable opinion; especially : excessive appreciation of one's own worth or virtue.
(Merriam-Webster M-W.com)

Our Lord referred to this as "Pharisaism."

Matthew 6:1-8,16-18 KJV
1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret Himself shall reward thee openly.
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask Him.
16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

(Conceited religious Leaders Judged by the Lord.)
Matthew 23:1-39 KJV
1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to His disciples,
2 Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer (permit) ye them that are entering to go in.
14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?
18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.
19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
20 Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
21 And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by Him that dwelleth therein.
22 And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by Him that sitteth thereon.
23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see Me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

A man's pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Matthew 18:4 KJV
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 23:12 KJV
And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Luke 18:9-14 KJV
9 And He spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Philippians 2:8 KJV
And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Colossians 3:12 KJV
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long suffering;

James 4:6 KJV
But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

James 4:10 KJV
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.

Daniel 11:37,38 KJV (Antichrist)
37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

II Thessalonians 2:3,4 KJV (Antichrist)

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Daniel 9:27 NLT
The ruler will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven (7 years), but after half this time, he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings (In the new Jerusalem temple). Revelation 13:13-15 KJV
13 And he (Antichrist's false religious leader) doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast( Antichrist); saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

Daniel 11:37,38 KJV
This “man,” will not "regard the God of his fathers."
His religion, His spiritual dogma, will be no one but “himself,” and the god of forces.

But in his estate shall he honor the God of forces*:”

*Forces-Hebrew-Maowz/Mauwz/Maoz/Mauz-(Maw-looz): A fortification place; fig. A defense:-force, fort (ress), rock, strength-(en), strong (hold).
(Abingdon's Strong's -Concordance)

MIGHT MAKES RIGHT
Superior strength can enforce one's will or dictate justice, as in The generals dismissed the parliament and imprisoned the premier.
(Dictionary.Com)

Brute force, military, judicial, social, etc. crushing any and all objectors.

Antichrist is spiritually the “son of Satan,” and if so, his god, is his father, Satan.

Daniel 11:37 KJV
“Neither shall he regard the.... desire of women,”
Meaning he is “asexual,” or “homosexual.

This leader will push for his personal standards, which are godless standards, already, the world, conditioned by Satan, is more than ready to accept them, as “The New Gospel.”

Daniel 11:38 KJV
But in his estate shall he honor ...a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.

Antichrist, is a true Satanist! He is of his father the devil, the dragon, the serpent, and he it is, who he will worship!

Changes Times and Laws:
The Triune God of the Bible, The Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, he will renounce-such teachings,  as  criminal.
The Bible, he will utterly renounce as a fable and book of hate – and criminal.
The Worship of God, and prayer, renounced-as criminal.
The Church, renounced- as criminal.
Worship on Sunday, renounced- as criminal.
Sacraments of the church, renounced- as criminal.
Sacred holidays, and festivals, renounced- as criminal.
And all those who practice such things will be criminals of his government.
Etc.etc.

Out of his wealth, he will honor “ a god whom his fathers knew not,” with “gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things,” that god, is Satan.

II Thessalonians 2:1-17 KJV
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (Daniel 9:27/ Matthew 24:15)
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And now ye know what (who) with holdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the Spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the Truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the Truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the Truth:
14 Whereunto He called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

Bible Lesson: Miracles Of The Power Of The Holy Spirit: Sick Are Made Well

Bible Lesson: Miracles Of The Power Of The Holy Spirit: Sick are made well.

God's Messenger: The Apostle Paul.

Bible Location: Island of Melita.

Bible Text:
Acts 28:7-10 NLT
7 Near the shore where we landed was an estate belonging to Publius, the chief official of the island. He welcomed us and treated us kindly for three days.
8 As it happened, Publius’s father was ill with fever and dysentery. Paul went in and prayed for him, and laying his hands on him, he healed him.
9 Then all the other sick people on the island came and were healed.
10 As a result we were showered with honors, and when the time came to sail, people supplied us with everything we would need for the trip.

Dear brother and sister in Christ. Time and time again we have seen it in New Testament stories. When ever there is great work that may be done for the Kingdom of God, there is the devil, to do his best to thwart that action.

If you have not read the last bolg posting …..stop now and do so.
Miracles Of The Power Of The Holy Spirit: "Any Deadly Thing, It Shall Not Hurt Them." (Mark 16:18 KJV)

Satan, the old serpent, had done his best to STOP the Apostle Paul, be it by storms or serpents, of no avail, because...
I John 4:4 KJV
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Oh, yes, the enemy, knew well the potential at Melita, and so he tried his best to stop it.

I Chronicles 29:11 KJV
Thine, O LORD is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as Head above all.

I John 5:4 KJV
For whatsoever is born of God over cometh the world: and this is the victory that over cometh the world, even our faith.

Acts 28:7 KJV
Near the shore where we landed was an estate belonging to Publius, the chief official of the island. He welcomed us and treated us kindly for three days.

Publius was the Roman ruler on the island of Melita. His courtesy to all from on board the ship was beyond benevolence.

Matthew 7:16-20 KJV
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Romans 12:10 KJV
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Colossians 3:12 KJV
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long suffering;

Acts 28:8 KJV
As it happened, Publius’s father was ill with fever and dysentery. Paul went in and prayed for him, and laying his hands on him, he healed him.

Our precious Lord Jesus, was not only called by the Father to preach the gospel of salvation to men, but to care for their bodies as well! Christ is Saviour, not only of the soul of man, but his body as well!

Luke 4:18,19 KJV
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Exodus 15:26 KJV
And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

Deuteronomy 7:15 KJV
And the Lord will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee..."

Isaiah 53:5 KJV
But He (Jesus the Messiah) was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.

Jeremiah 30:17 KJV
For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord..."

Matthew 10:1 KJV
And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples, He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

Mark 3:14,15 KJV
14 And He ordained twelve, that they should be with Him, and that He might send them forth to preach,
15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

Mark 16:15-18 KJV
15 And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.  (See the blog......  Kept By The Power Of God       )

John 10:10 KJV
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

I Corinthians 12:9 KJV
To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

I John 3:8 KJV
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

Acts 28:9 KJV
Then all the other sick people on the island came and were healed.

Publius' father, was not, the only sick person on Melita!
Word spread quickly, that Publius' father had been healed.
Soon a village of sick and wounded were at Paul's door, seeking deliverance!

Isn't that what the church is to be all about? What ever happened to that idea?
Our Lord when He called His men to do “greater works than these,” He wasn't commissioning them to open medical institutes, not that's there's anything wrong with them, but He called His men to have the Power of God in their lives, to be able to do the works of God!

If your church doesn't call hurting people forward to the altar to be prayed for by your pastor and deacons …..there is something drastically wrong!

James 5:13-16 KJV
13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

As we read verse 9 once again, how wonderful....yes Paul prayed for everyone, and all “were healed.”

Matthew 17:14-21 KJV
14 And when they were come to the multitude, there came to Him a certain man, kneeling down to Him, and saying,
15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to Me.
18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

It has been well said, the church of the Lord Jesus Christ is strongest on it's knees.
It's time to pray and fast, because the needs of the people are great.

Acts 28:10 KJV
As a result we were showered with honors, and when the time came to sail, people supplied us with everything we would need for the trip.

How grateful the people of Melita were! A terrible storm had brought the wonderful saving message of the of the Lord Jesus Christ to them, and not only that but the healing of their bodies as well.

In turn they loaded the Apostle, the sailors, other prisoners and passengers, down with all the supplies they would need for the rest of their journey.

And the greatest thing, the Lord Jesus would remain in Melita, in the hearts and lives of all those who had been touched by the very hand of God.

Romans 8:28 KJV
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.

Heavenly Signs

Bible Questions Answered:
“What heavenly signs the bible says are coming?”
Chaiten/ Bangalore, India

Bible Answer:

Isaiah 13:9-13 KJV
9 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and He shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of Hosts, and in the day of His fierce anger.

Isaiah 24:17-23 KJV
17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.
18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.
19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.
20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.
23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the Lord of Hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before His ancients gloriously.

Isaiah 34:4 KJV
And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.

Ezekiel 32:7,8 KJV
7 And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.
8 All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord God.

Joel 2:10,30-32 KJV
10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.
32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered..."

Amos 8:8,9 KJV
8 Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
9 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:

Haggai 2:6 KJV
For thus saith the Lord of Hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;

Matthew 24:29 KJV
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Luke 21:25,26 KJV
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

II Peter 3:7-13 KJV
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Revelation 6:12-14 KJV (Tribulation)
12 And I beheld when He had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Revelation 13:13 KJV (Tribulation)
And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

Coming deceptive world religious leader who will cause men to worship the image of the Ant-Christ.

New Heavens And A New Earth

Bible Questions Answered:
“When is the earth to be destroyed by fire?”
Ramesh/ Bangalore, India

Bible Answer:

II Peter 3:10-13 KJV

Matthew 5:18 KJV
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Matthew 24:35 KJV
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

The Apostle Paul when speaking of the born again experience, states....

II Corinthians 5:17 KJV
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Now, it certainly did not mean that the individual had ceased to exist (passed away), but that he was “regenerated.”

Titus 3:5 KJV
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration*, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

*Regeneration-Greek-Paliggenesia (Pal-ing-ghen-es-ee-ah): (Spiritual) rebirth (The state or act), I.e (fig.) spiritual renovation; spec. Messianic restoration:-regeneration.

A cleansing, a regeneration for the heavens and earth, is coming:

Isaiah 34:4 KJV
And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.

Revelation 6:14 KJV
And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Revelation 21:5 KJV
And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

Though the earth will one day purified, renewed by fire, it will never be burnt up, or come to extinction.

Psalm 78:69 KJV
And He built His sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which He hath established for ever.

Psalm 102:24-27 KJV
24 I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.
25 Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
26 They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:
27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

Psalm 119:89-91 KJV
89 For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.
90 Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.
91 They continue this day according to thine ordinances: for all are thy servants.

Ecclesiastes 1:4 KJV
One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.

Isaiah 65:17 KJV
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

Jeremiah 33:25,26 NLT
25 But this is what the Lord says: I would no more reject My people than I would change My laws that govern night and day, earth and sky.
26 I will never abandon the descendants of Jacob or David, My servant, or change the plan that David’s descendants will rule the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Instead, I will restore them to their land and have mercy on them.”

Next of our Lord's prophetic clock, the Rapture of the church, followed by the Tribulation period (7 years), then the Millennium, followed by the Great White Throne Judgment, then...a new purified earth and heavens:

Revelation 21:1-27 KJV
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write: for these words are True and Faithful.
6 And He said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that over cometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be My son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life

Revelation 22:1-21 KJV
1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve Him:
4 And they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
6 And he said unto me, These sayings are Faithful and True: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to shew unto His servants the things which must shortly be done.
7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.
14 Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
16 I Jesus have sent Mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the Bright and Morning Star.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
Amen.

Will you be there on that day, seeing for yourself, the new heavens, and the new earth?
You will be, if you name is written  in the Lamb's book of life!

Acts 4:8-12 KJV
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by Him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the Head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 8:24 KJV (Jesus)
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.

Revelation 20:11-15 KJV
11 And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Millennial-Longevity

Bible Questions Answered:
“In our class we debated just how long some one will live in the millennium, what do you think?”
Sherri/ London, United Kingdom

Bible Answer:

Adam and Eve were created to live forever.
But because of their sinful choice, they began to die after being banished from the garden of Eden, with it's tree of life (Genesis 2:9).

Chased out of the garden, yet longevity was the rule for some time as indicated by the life spans of the following:

Adam:       Genesis 5:3   930 years
Seth:         Genesis 5:6    912 years
Enosh:      Genesis 5:9    905 years
Kenan:      Genesis 5:12  910 years
Mahalalel  Genesis 5:15  895 years
Jared:       Genesis 5:18  962 years
Enoch:      Genesis 5:21  365 years (Genesis 5:24 KJV And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for
God took him.- - Enoch did not see death.)
Lamech     Genesis 5:28  777 years
Noah         Genesis 9:29  950 years

Now the question arises how long could one live during the Millennium?

The Millennium, will be a period of 1,000 years of Christ rule on earth, as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Micah 4:3 KJV
And He shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Isaiah 11:4-9 KJV
4 But with righteousness shall He judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and He shall smite the earth: with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips shall He slay the wicked.
5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of His loins, and faithfulness the girdle of His reins.
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

Be sure to read the blog posting …...   Millennium

Mankind will not be in a glorified state of being, such as our Lord is, and church will one day be with Him as, but humanity will be flesh and blood as it is today.
Even though that may be, yet the curse of sin, will be gone, and the earth will be re-energized into a Garden of Eden state of being.

And so the Word tells us:

Isaiah 65:18-25 NLT
18 Be glad; rejoice forever in My creation! And look! I will create Jerusalem as a place of happiness. Her people will be a source of joy.
19 I will rejoice over Jerusalem and delight in My people. And the sound of weeping and crying will be heard in it no more.
20 “No longer will babies die when only a few days old. No longer will adults die before they have lived a full life. No longer will people be considered old at one hundred! Only the cursed will die that young!
21 In those days people will live in the houses they build and eat the fruit of their own vineyards.
22 Unlike the past, invaders will not take their houses and confiscate their vineyards.
For My people will live as long as trees, and My chosen ones will have time to enjoy their hard-won gains.
23 They will not work in vain, and their children will not be doomed to misfortune.
For they are people blessed by the Lord, and their children, too, will be blessed.
24 I will answer them before they even call to Me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!
25 The wolf and the lamb will feed together. The lion will eat hay like a cow. But the snakes will eat dust.
In those days no one will be hurt or destroyed on My holy mountain. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

Zechariah 8:3-8 KJV
3 Thus saith the Lord; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the Lord of Hosts the holy mountain.
4 Thus saith the Lord of Hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age.
5 And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.
6 Thus saith the Lord of Hosts; If it be marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvelous in Mine eyes? saith the Lord of Hosts.
7 Thus saith the Lord of Hosts; Behold, I will save My people from the east country, and from the west country;
8 And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.

Ezekiel 47:12 KJV
And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.

At the end of the Millennium:

Revelation 20:7-10 KJV
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are (They were thrown in, before the millennium), and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

I Corinthians 15:26 KJV
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

Revelation 21:4 KJV
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Millennial Longevity:
How long did the prophet Isiah prophesy that God's people would live?

Isaiah 65:22 NLT
“...For My people will live as long as trees,..”

White Oaks can live from 400-500 years. Cedars from 400-600, and there are species, that are known to have lived over 1,000 years. There are a few trees, said to be alive today, that were alive in the time of Christ.

It more than appears that a person could live the 1,000 year millennium, with the blessing of the Lord!
What would it be like to live 1,000 years?
For that fact, for God's people, what will it be like to live …....forever, time without end?

Have you given your heart and life to the Creator of the Universe, He loves you and has given His life for you.

II Corinthians 5:21 NLT
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

John 3:16-18 KJV
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the Only Begotten Son of God.

Prayer Request

Prayer Request:
Please pray for a teenager named Lauren. As a baby, she suffered a stroke, which above other things left her without the ability to speak. She is seventeen, and in need of our prayers. God bless you as you pray for her.
Submitted by Larry.

Matthew 18:18-20 KJV
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.

Bible Lesson: Miracles Of The Power Of The Holy Spirit: "any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them." (Mark 16:18 KJV)

Bible Lesson: Miracles Of The Power Of The Holy Spirit:any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them” (Mark 16:18 KJV).

God's Messenger: Apostle Paul.

Bible Location: Island of Melita.

Bible Text:
Acts 28:1-6 KJV (Apostle Paul, as a prisoner, was on his way to Rome, when the ship he was in was dashed to pieces by a great storm, read the story  in Acts 27.)
1 Once we were safe on shore, we learned that we were on the island of Malta.
2 The people of the island were very kind to us. It was cold and rainy, so they built a fire on the shore to welcome us.
3 As Paul gathered an armful of sticks and was laying them on the fire, a poisonous snake, driven out by the heat, bit him on the hand.
4 The people of the island saw it hanging from his hand and said to each other, “A murderer, no doubt! Though he escaped the sea, justice will not permit him to live.”
5 But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed.
6 The people waited for him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. But when they had waited a long time and saw that he wasn’t harmed, they changed their minds and decided he was a god.

Acts 28:1,2 NLT
1 Once we were safe on shore, we learned that we were on the island of Malta.
2 The people of the island were very kind to us. It was cold and rainy, so they built a fire on the shore to welcome us.

The Apostle had warned, captain and crew that sailing so late in the fall, would lead to storms, and perhaps loss of ship and life, but no one listened.

Shipwrecked, they found themselves at the Island of Malta.
The inhabitants having seen the wreck, in kindness, made a fire to warm them, and to extend to them every kindness.

What word may be said concerning kindness.

Kindness:
Sympathetic, friendly, gentle, tender-hearted, generous, etc.
(New World Dictionary)

The people of Malta, were this kind of generous people. They helped everyone of the shipwrecked survivors, no matter what their station, sailors, soldiers, passengers, or prisoners!

What was it the Apostle said?

Romans 12:9-13 NLT
9 Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.
10 Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.
11 Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.
12 Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.
13 When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.

Acts 28:3 NLT
As Paul gathered an armful of sticks and was laying them on the fire, a poisonous snake, driven out by the heat, bit him on the hand.

Paul, in his eagerness, helped them build the fire, to warm the cold wet, soaked survivors.
As he threw a bundle of branches onto the fire, a snake  jumped out and bit Paul on the hand, and would not let go.

Here is the Godly Apostle Paul, on his way to Rome, to die, and thrown into a terrible shipwreck, if that not being enough, a deadly viper bites him, no doubt sending pain throughout his body.

“Look pastor, I thought if I was a Christian, that only good things would happen to me!”

Well, read the book again!

Ecclesiastes 7:14 NLT
Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. Remember that nothing is certain in this life.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 KJV
I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

Isiah 43:2 KJV (Not "if," but "when.")
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Matthew 5:45 KJV
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Luke 13:1-5 NLT
1 About this time Jesus was informed that Pilate had murdered some people from Galilee as they were offering sacrifices at the Temple.
2 “Do you think those Galileans were worse sinners than all the other people from Galilee?” Jesus asked. “Is that why they suffered?
3 Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God.
4 And what about the eighteen people who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them? Were they the worst sinners in Jerusalem?
5 No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too.”

Acts 14:21,22 KJV (Apostles, Paul and Barnabas.)
21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,
22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that
we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Even though, trouble may be stacked again and again, against a Christian, God's Word, promises us....

I Corinthians 10:13 KJV
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is Faithful, who will not suffer (permit) you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

II Corinthians 12:7-10 KJV
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Acts 28:4 KJV
The people of the island saw it hanging from his hand and said to each other, “A murderer, no doubt! Though he escaped the sea, justice will not permit him to live.”

Why, oh why, do good people, often make harsh, wrong judgments?
It is because the Word of God, has been forgotten.

Matthew 7:1-5 KJV (Jesus)
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote (spec) that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote (spec) out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote (spec) out of thy brother's eye.

God's people are called to have heart of love towards all, not one of judgment.

Romans 12:18-21 NLT
18 Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.
19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord.
20 Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.”
21 Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.

The people knew only too well that Paul was a prisoner, for he was under guard. And having seen the serpent bite him, they thought, though this evil man has escaped the wrath of the sea, surely fate has found him, and punished him. But they were wrong, dead wrong.
How very careful we must be of the things, we say!

Matthew 12:36,37 KJV
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

James 3:3-12 KJV
3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

Acts 28:5 NLT
But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed.

If there is one place where the serpent belongs, its in the fire!

Revelation 20:10 KJV
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are (still there after 1,000 years of torment), and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

This miraculous action was the direct result of our Saviour's great commission promise for His evangelizing believers.

Mark 16:15-18 KJV
15 And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Stop and read the blog posting:   Bible Lesson:    Kept By The Power Of God

THIS WAS “NOT,” ANYTHING THE APOSTLE PAUL WENT LOOKING FOR!!!!!!!
IT WAS SOMETHING THAT CAME TOTALLY UNAWARES UPON HIM.
UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES, AND UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES ALONE, GOD IN HIS SOVERIGN POWER, KEPT THE INNOCENT APOSTLE.

Matthew 4:1-10 KJV
1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to Him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Then the devil taketh Him up into the holy city, and setteth Him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto Him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give His angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Again, the devil taketh Him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto Him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.

Our dearest Saviour, never under any circumstances used “the power of God,” as a parlor gimmick.
Satan, did his best to convince Him to do so, but our Saviour knew better. Unfortunately the enemy has convinced some earthly individuals, to do so.

 Acts 28:6 NLT
The people waited for him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. But when they had waited a long time and saw that he wasn’t harmed, they changed their minds and decided he was a god.

Oh the “sure word” of the Lord! (II Peter 1:19 KJV)
Men's judgments and their promises, fail, but not that of the Lord of glory!

Numbers 23:19 KJV
God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of Man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?

I Kings 8:56 KJV
Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto His people Israel, according to all that He promised: there hath not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised by the hand of Moses His servant.

Psalm 111:7 KJV
The works of His hands are verity (trustworthy) and judgment; all His commandments are sure.

Romans 4:21 KJV
And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform.

II Corinthians 1:19,20 NLT
19 For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God’s ultimate “Yes,” He always does what He says.
20 For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for His glory.

Mark 16:18 KJV
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

And so the word of the Lord, proved to be true over and over again!

When God, calls a man to do His bidding, “nothing, but nothing,” may stop him!

Matthew 14:29 KJV
And He said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

Church of the precious Lord Jesus Christ, now is the time, now the eleventh hour of harvest, to rise in faith, and do the works our Saviour has called us to do. “...the night cometh, when no man can work.
(John 9:4 KJV)

Matthew 20:6 KJV
And about the eleventh hour He went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
