Bible Lesson: Parables-Our Lord's: The Sure Foundation.

Bible Lesson: Parables-Our Lord's: The Sure Foundation.

Occasion: Closing Message; Of The Sermon On The Mount.

Lesson: Storms Approach, Make Sure Your Foundation Is On The Rock.

Bible Text:
Matthew 7:21-23,24-29 KJV (Building on The Rock.)
21 Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

(Two different foundations.)
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon A Rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon A Rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at His doctrine:
29 For He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Luke 6:46-49 KJV
46 And why call ye Me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47 Whosoever cometh to Me, and heareth My sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on A Rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon A Rock.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Dear friend, look out into the distance, storms are on the horizon! See the lightning flashing, see the foreboding low hanging darkened clouds, clouds of evil portense?

The times they are a changin, for there is a battle, a spiritual battle, ragin!

Matthew 24:11,12 KJV
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

I Timothy 4:1 KJV
Now The Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

II Timothy 3:13 KJV
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

I Peter 5:8 KJV
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

II John 7 KJV
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Revelation 12:12 KJV
"...Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Are you prepared for the storm?
That is our Lord's concern, in this story. There's coming beating rain, blustery howling winds, and torrents of rushing water. Will your house stand?

Jesus warns in this late hour, only the house founded on a sure foundation will meet the coming tests of endurance! And that foundation is A Rock.

See in the Old Testament, how that many, many, many... times the phrase “A Rock,” refers to no-one but The Lord Jesus Christ. (Here are but a few.)

Psalm 18:2,3,31,46 KJV
2 The Lord is my Rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my Strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
3 I will call upon The Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
31 For who is God save The Lord? or who is A Rock save our God?
46 The Lord liveth; and blessed be my Rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

Psalm 28:1 KJV
Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my Rock..."

Psalm 31:1-3 KJV
1 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust..."
2"...be thou my strong Rock, for an house of defense to save me.
3 For thou art my Rock and my fortress..."

Psalm 62:1,2 KJV
1 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from Him cometh my salvation.
2 He only is my Rock and my salvation; He is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

Psalm 71:1-3 KJV
1 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
2 Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.
3 Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my Rock and my fortress.

Psalm 78:35 KJV
And they remembered that God was their Rock, and The High God their Redeemer.

Psalm 89:26 KJV
"... Thou art my Father, my God, and The Rock of my salvation.

Psalm 92:15 KJV
"...The Lord is upright: He is my Rock..."

Psalm 94:22 KJV
"... The Lord is my defense; and my God is The Rock of my refuge.

Psalm 95:1 KJV
O come, let us sing unto The Lord: let us make a joyful noise to The Rock Of our Salvation.

Could anyone possibly doubt who the Rock Of Salvation is??
The Rock Of Salvation is The Lord Jesus Christ!

If your life is built upon Him, you will know victory over evil days!

I John 4:4 KJV
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them (Deceiving spirits): because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Romans 8:37 KJV
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.

Houses of sand, are traditions of men, not founded in repentance, faith and, spiritual growth in The Lord Jesus Christ.
These are false religious works, or vain philosophies. And though they may be thought of as being full of academic wisdom, they are loose sands, upon which lives will fall, and great will be the fall of them.

Jesus says yet...

John 14:6 KJV
"... I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.

John 8:24 KJV
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.

John 3:14-18 KJV
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must The Son Of Man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of The Only Begotten Son Of God.

Eve in the garden, met an outsider, someone alien to her, that challenged of all things, “her faith!”
And he deceived her.

Galatians 1:6-9 KJV
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Matthew 12:30 KJV (Jesus)
He that is not with Me is against Me; and he that gathereth not with Me scattereth abroad.

I Corinthians 10:12 KJV
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

James 1:22-25 NLT (Matthew 7:21 KJV)
22 But don’t just listen to God’s Word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
23 For if you listen to The Word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror.
24 You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.
25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

Revelation 3:20 KJV
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him..."

Assurance 2

Bible Questions Answered:
“I do not think Im saved. I prayed the prayer to receive god but I do not seem to be anything different. How can I realize this...”
Lerato/ Capetown, South Africa (Western Cape)

Bible Answer:
We must “not,” rely on feelings, but The Word Of God.

John 6:37 KJV
All that The Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.

Romans 8:16 KJV
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Galatians 4:6 NLT
And because we are His children, God has sent The Spirit Of His Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.”

I John 4:13 KJV
Hereby know we that we dwell in Him, and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit.

I John 5:9,10 KJV
9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which He hath testified of His Son.
10 He that believeth on The Son Of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of His Son.

The “desires,” of the redeemed are different than what they use to be!

Psalm 19:14 KJV
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my Strength, and my Redeemer.

Psalm 42:1,2 NLT
1 As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God.
2 I thirst for God, The Living God. When can I go and stand before Him?

Psalm 63:1 NLT
O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you..."

Psalm 73:25 KJV
Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.

Psalm 119:11 KJV
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Psalm 143:1,6 NLT
1 Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are Faithful and Righteous.
6 I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain.

Isaiah 26:9 KJV
With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

Matthew 5:6 KJV
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

John 4:14 KJV
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

John 8:31,32 KJV
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know The Truth, and The Truth shall make you free.

I John 2:3 KJV
And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.

I John 3:19,20,24 NLT
19 Our actions will show that we belong to The Truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God.
20 Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and He knows everything.
24 Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with Him, and He with them. And we know He lives in us because The Spirit He gave us lives in us.

The life of the redeemed produce “different” fruit!

Galatians 5:22,23 KJV
22 But the fruit of The Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance (self control): against such there is no law.

Ephesians 5:9 KJV
(For the fruit of The Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and Truth;)

The life of the redeemed, is a life of spiritual “growth.”

II Corinthians 9:10 ERV
God is the one who gives seed to those who plant, and He gives bread for food. And God will give you spiritual seed and make that seed grow. He will produce a great harvest from your goodness.

Ephesians 4:15 KJV
"... speak The Truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is The Head of His body, the church.

I Thessalonians 3:11 KJV
And may The Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow..."

Hebrews 6:1 NLT
So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding..."

I Peter 2:2,3 NLT
2 Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment,
3 now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.

II Peter 1:2-8 NLT
2 May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.
3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence.
4 And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
5 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge,
6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness,
7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
8 The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

II Peter 3:18 NLT
"...grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Priorities Versus Provisions

Bible Questions Answered:
“How is it that we are to “take no thought for your life”. Food does not just appear or clothing. So what could this possibly have meaning to?”
Harry/ Perth, Australia (Western Australia)

Bible Answer:
Bible Text:
Luke 12:33-34 KJV
22 And He said unto His disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Yes, Jesus said “For...your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.”
Food, clothing, housing, our Father in heaven, knows only too well that we need these things.

He also from the beginning called and blessed man to work.

Genesis 2:15 KJV
And The Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

Apostle Paul speaks about work:

Ephesians 4:28 KJV
"...let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

II Thessalonians 3:12 KJV
Now...we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

That man should be involved with provision for himself, his family and or loved ones is only right.

But our Lord was not here addressing the subject of provision, but that of ones, priorities in life.
Oh how our enemy wishes to distract man to either that of “total neglect,” concerning the things of God, or to that of “total fanaticism.” Anywhere but to the center of our God's will for our lives.

Matthew 7:13,14 KJV
13 Enter ye in at The Strait Gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because Strait is The Gate, and Narrow is The Way, which leadeth unto Life, and few there be that find it.

Yes, we should labor for our earthly provisions, having faith that God, will give us strength and health to provide for what we need.

But in all our labor, let us “not,” insult The Living God, by thinking that our supply rests on our selves alone, or that earthly provision is all that is needed.

Luke 12:16-21 KJV
16 And He spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

Mark 8:36 KJV
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

And so, our Lord, amidst all our labor and providing, warns us, in life what are real priorities?

Luke 12:23 KJV
"... life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

The ravens, the lilies and the grass of the field preach to us, but our ears are to heavy to hear.
So, The God of all creation shouts it, so that there will be no mistake!

31 “...Seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 “...It is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 6:33,34 KJV
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

What are our priorities? Eroding earthly wealth?

I Timothy 6:6-12 KJV
6 But Godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

In this late hour friend, make sure, your priorities are for the kingdom of heaven! Make doubly sure your real treasures are.....

Luke 12:33,34 KJV
33... treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Will Of God-Living In The

Bible Questions Answered:
“If I don't do everything as the bible, can I still be in the will of God?”
Karina/ New Delhi, India

Bible Answer:

Human reasoning, and our egos would certainly tell us that if a young man has prayed for a young lady to marry, and one has come by that he has made friends with, certainly all of heaven cannot be against this good thing!

Wrong.

Is she a Christian? If she is not, a Christian young man has no right to think of marriage to her!

II Corinthians 6:14-18 NLT
14 Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?
15 What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever?
16 And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of
The living God. As God said: “I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be My people.
17 Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says
The Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you.
18 And I will be your Father, and you will be My sons and daughters, says The Lord Almighty.”

Someone may wish to come by fast easy money by becoming an illegal drug dealer.

But what does The Word say?

I Thessalonians 5:21,22 KJV
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

I Corinthians 9:14 KJV
Even so hath The Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.

I Corinthians 10:21 KJV
Ye cannot drink the cup of The Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of
The Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

Romans 6:1-7 NLT
1 Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of His wonderful grace?
2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?
3 Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined Him in His death?
4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of The Father, now we also may live new lives.
5 Since we have been united with Him in His death, we will also be raised to life as He was.
6 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.
7 For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.

Ephesians 4:1 KJV
I therefore, the prisoner of The Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

I Thessalonians 2:12 KJV
That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto His kingdom and glory.

I Peter 1:15,16 KJV
15 But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

II Peter 1:3,4;10,11 NLT
3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence.
4 And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises (The Word Of God). These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
10 So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away.
11 Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Works-Salvation By

Bible Questions Answered:
“I don't see how that someone who has lived a good life, been charitable, helped the poor, the down and out, and who is not a christian, that that person will be lost forever.”
Will/ Hadsel, Norway (Nordland)

Bible Answer:
Not to accept Jesus Christ, God's incarnate Son, is to reject Him.

John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 6:68,69 KJV
68 Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, The Son Of The Living God.

John 8:23,24 KJV
23 And He said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.

John 10:9 KJV
I am The Door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

John 14:6 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no man cometh unto The Father, but by Me.

John 20:31 KJV
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is The Christ, The Son Of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name.

Acts 4:12 KJV
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

I Corinthians 3:11 KJV
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
A person, cannot manufacture his own salvation, no matter how great the effort!

Isaiah 64:6 KJV
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

John 1:12.13 KJV
12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Romans 3:10 KJV
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Romans 6:23 KJV
For the wages of sin is death; but The Gift Of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 11:6 NLT
And since it is through God’s kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God’s grace would not be what it really is—free and undeserved.

Galatians 2:16,21 NLT
16 Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.
21 I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.

Ephesians 2:8,9 KJV
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is The Gift Of God:
9 Not of works (Righteous Ceremonies, Good works, etc), lest any man should boast.

Titus 3:4-7 NLT
4 But—“When God our Savior revealed His kindness and love,
5 He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through The Holy Spirit.
6 He generously poured out The Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.
7 Because of His grace He declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.”

Hebrews 10:6 KJV
In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

I John 5:11,12 NLT
11 And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this Life is in His Son.
12 Whoever has The Son has Life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have Life.

If we reject The Lord, He will reject us.

For many, who reject The Lord Jesus, thinking they may work their way into God's heaven, a sad, very sad eternal awakening, awaits them.

I Samuel 15:22,23 NLT (Samuel rebukes Saul.)
22 But Samuel replied,
What is more pleasing to The Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to His voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.
23 Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of The Lord, He has rejected you...”

Matthew 7:24-27 KJV
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon A Rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon A Rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Bible Lesson: Parables-Our Lord's: The Mote And The Beam.

Bible Lesson: Parables-Our Lord's: The Mote And The Beam.

Occasion: Admonishing The Pharisees.

Lesson: Judge Not That Ye Be Not Judged.

Bible Text:
Luke 6:37-42 KJV
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
39 And He spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.

Luke 6:37-42 NLT
37 “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven.
38 Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”
39 Then Jesus gave the following illustration: “Can one blind person lead another? Won’t they both fall into a ditch?
40 Students are not greater than their teacher. But the student who is fully trained will become like the teacher.
41 “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?
42 How can you think of saying, ‘Friend, let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.

Luke 6:37,38 KJV
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

James 4:12 NLT
God alone, who gave the law, is The Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?

The Apostle Paul, but it this way.
Galatians 6:7 KJV
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

If you sow corn, you will not reap wheat, not very hard to understand.
The servant of The Lord Jesus Christ, must be in character as He is!

Psalm 130:7 NLT
O Israel, hope in The Lord; for with The Lord there is unfailing love. His redemption overflows.

Romans 2:1-4;21 NLT
1 You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things.
2 And we know that God, in His Justice, will punish anyone who does such things.
3 Since you judge others for doing these things, why do you think you can avoid God’s judgment when you do the same things?
4 Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that His kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?
21 Well then, if you teach others, why don’t you teach yourself?..."

Romans 14:12,13 NLT
12 Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God.
13 So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.

Galatians 5:22,23 KJV
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance (self-control): against such there is no law.

Ephesians 5:9 KJV
(For the fruit of The Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and Truth;)

Luke 6:39 KJV
And He spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

One should not claim to be a spiritual leader of men, if he himself, is not spiritually pure.

I John 1:5-10 KJV
5 This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God is Light, and in Him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not
The Truth:
7 But if we walk in The Light, as He is in The Light, we have fellowship one with another, and The Blood Of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and The Truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is Faithful and Just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.

I John 2:11 KJV
But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

Luke 6:40 KJV
The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

Luke 6:43-46 KJV
43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil:
for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46 And why call ye Me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

I John 4:7-9;15-17 KJV
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is The Son Of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world.

II Corinthians 13:5 NLT
Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith.

Luke 6:41,42 KJV
41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.

II Timothy 2:19-21 NLT
19 But God’s Truth stands firm like a Foundation Stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and “All who belong to The Lord must turn away from evil.”
20 In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use.
21 If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for The Master to use you for every good work.

Holy Spirit-Conviction

Bible Questions Answered:
“Are we suppose to pray for conviction?”
Cody/ Syracuse, New York (U.S.A.)

Bible Answer:

No, and we do not need to because
Conviction, is the work of God The Holy Spirit.

John 16:5-15 NLT (The Holy Spirit)
5 “But now I am going away to the one who sent Me, and not one of you is asking where I am going.
6 Instead, you grieve because of what I’ve told you.
7 But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, The Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send Him to you.
8 And when He comes, He will convict (KJV Reprove*), the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.
9 The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in Me.
10 Righteousness is available because I go to The Father, and you will see Me no more.
11 Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged.
12 “There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now.
13 When The Spirit Of Truth comes, He will guide you into all Truth. He will not speak on His own but will tell you what He has heard. He will tell you about the future.
14 He will bring Me glory by telling you whatever He receives from Me.
15 All that belongs to The Father is Mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever He receives from Me.’

*Reprove-Greek: Elegcho (El-eng-kho): To confute, admonish: convict, convince, tell a fault, rebuke, reprove.

Romans 2:14-15 NLT (Conscience Under Conviction-God's Holy Spirit, at work.)
14 Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know His law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it.
15 They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.
16 And this is the message I proclaim—that the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone’s secret life.

The Holy Spirit, Brings Conviction:

Psalm 32:1-5 NLT
1 Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight!
2 Yes, what joy for those whose record The Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!
3 When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long.
4 Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat.
5 Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt.
I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to The Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.

Psalm 38:4-8,18,21,22 NLT
4 My guilt overwhelms me— it is a burden too heavy to bear.
5 My wounds fester and stink because of my foolish sins.
6 I am bent over and racked with pain. All day long I walk around filled with grief.
7 A raging fever burns within me, and my health is broken.
8 I am exhausted and completely crushed. My groans come from an anguished heart.
18 But I confess my sins; I am deeply sorry for what I have done.
21 Do not abandon me, O Lord. Do not stand at a distance, my God.
22 Come quickly to help me, O Lord my savior.

Psalm 51:1-12,15-17 NLT (Holy Spirit Conviction.)
1 Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins.
2 Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin.
3 For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night.
4 Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just.
5 For I was born a sinner— yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.
6 But you desire honesty from the womb, teaching me wisdom even there.
7 Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me— now let me rejoice.
9 Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.
11 Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.
15 Unseal my lips, O Lord, that my mouth may praise you.
16 You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one. You do not want a burnt offering.
17 The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.

Acts 2:36-39 NLT (Holy Spirit Conviction through preaching The Word.)
36 “So let everyone in Israel know for certain that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, to be both Lord and Messiah!”
37 Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?”
38 Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive The Gift Of The Holy Spirit.
39 This promise is to you, and to your children, and even to the Gentiles—all who have been called by The Lord our God.”

Acts 16:14 KJV (Holy Spirit Conviction through preaching The Word.)
And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshiped God, heard us: whose heart The Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

Acts 24:24,25 NLT (Holy Spirit Conviction through preaching The Word.)
24 A few days later Felix came back with his wife, Drusilla, who was Jewish. Sending for Paul, they listened as he told them about faith in Christ Jesus.
25 As he reasoned with them about righteousness and self-control and the coming day of judgment, Felix became frightened. “Go away for now,” he replied. “When it is more convenient, I’ll call for you again.”

I Thessalonians 1:5,6 KJV (Holy Spirit Conviction through preaching The Word.)
5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in The Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
6 And ye became followers of us, and of The Lord, having received The Word in much affliction, with joy of The Holy Ghost.

I Corinthians 14:24,25 NLT (Holy Spirit Conviction Through Spiritual Gifts.)
24 But if all of you are prophesying, and unbelievers or people who don’t understand these things come into your meeting, they will be convicted of sin and judged by what you say.
25 As they listen, their secret thoughts will be exposed, and they will fall to their knees and worship God, declaring, “God is truly here among you.”

The Spirit Of God, keeps our lives focused on the things of God.

Romans 8:5-9 KJV
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after The Spirit the things of The Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in The Spirit, if so be that The Spirit Of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not The Spirit Of Christ, he is none of His.

The Spirit Of God, reminds us who we are.

Romans 8:15,16 KJV
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received
The Spirit Of Adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself (Him self) beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Galatians 4:6 KJV
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth The Spirit Of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

The Spirit Of God, brings God's people wisdom and insight.

I Corinthians 2:8-10;14-16 NLT
8 But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord.
9 That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.”
10 But, it was to us that God revealed these things by His Spirit. For His Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets
14 But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these Truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what The Spirit means.
15 Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others.
16 For, “Who can know The Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach Him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.

Ephesians 1:17,18 NLT
17 asking God, The Glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.
18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope He has given to those He called—His holy people who are His rich and glorious inheritance

Is The Holy Spirit in your life? Accept The Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, and God The Holy Spirit will fill your life, with the presence and power of God.!

Bible Error: John 11:4

Bible Questions Answered:
“I see a plain bible error in John 11:4, this statement was not true. Lazarus was dead....”
Henry/ Orebro, Sweden (Orebro County)

Bible Answer:
Bible Text:
The verse in question is

John 11:4 KJV
When Jesus heard that, He said, This sickness is not unto death*...”

This is not the full verse, nor the full story!

We begin by the definition of death.

*Death: The act or fact of dying; permanent ending of all life in a person, animal or plant.
(New World Dictionary)

*Death: The act of dying; the end of life; the total and permanent cessation of all the vital functions of an organism. Compare brain death.
(Dictionary.Com)

*Death: The permanent end of something that is not alive : the ruin or destruction of something.
(Merriam-Webster Webster.com)

In this sense, Lazarus was not truly dead. Why? Because he would “not,” remain dead!

The story: (This is only part of the whole story, be sure to read John 11:1-45.)

John 11:1-17; 34-454 KJV
1 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
2 (It was that Mary which anointed The Lord with ointment, and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
3 Therefore his sisters sent unto Him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
4 When Jesus heard that, He said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that
The Son Of God might be glorified thereby.
5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
6 When He had heard therefore that he was sick, He abode two days still in the same place where He was.
7 Then after that saith He to His disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.
8 His disciples say unto Him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth The Light of this world.
10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no Light in him.
11 These things said He: and after that He saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
12 Then said His disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that He had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.
16 Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto His fellow disciples, Let us also go, that we may die with Him.
17 Then when Jesus came, He found that he had lain in the grave four days already.

34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto Him, Lord, come and see.
35 Jesus wept.
36 Then said the Jews, Behold how He loved him!
37 And some of them said, Could not this Man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?
38 Jesus therefore again groaning in Himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto Him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up His eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard Me.
42 And I knew that thou hearest Me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent Me.
43 And when He thus had spoken, He cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

Lazarus, arose!

Our Lord told Martha
John 11:25,26 KJV
25 Jesus said unto her, I am The Resurrection, And The Life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Bible Error, never! Lazarus' body was merely waiting for The Lord Jesus to return, so that the glory of God could be seen!

John 11:4 KJV
When Jesus heard that, He said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that
The Son Of God might be glorified thereby.

And seen it was by many, and the result of their seeing the glory of God?

John 11:45 KJV
Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on Him.

Dear friend, do you believe in The Lord Jesus Christ?

John 11:26 KJV
...whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Christians- Not Perfect

Bible Questions Answered:
“...so I don't think I can be perfect, so I haven't made any commitment...”
Cresly/ San Antonio, Texas

Bible Answer:
Bible Text:

I John 3:9 KJV
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Some labor under the misinterpretation of I John 3:9 KJV, thinking that once a person becomes a Christian, he will never sin. This is not a proper interpretation of I John 3:9 at all, and must be explained by the rest of John's writings.

Better renderings:

I John 3:9 NLT
Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.

I John 3:9 ESV
No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God.

One may “never,” take a sole verse from the Bible and make a doctrine. To be sure that the NLT and the ESV more accurately explain this verse. John is speaking of making sin a habit or habitually sinning. Now to be very sure, let us ask John, himself!

I John 1:8-10 KJV
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and The Truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is Faithful and Just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.

“Oh, pastor, this saying of John refers to someone before they come to the Lord!)

Well, we can settle that questions once and for all, when Jesus spoke to His followers He told them to pray as follows....

Matthew 6:9-13 KJV Jesus said ….
9 After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts (sins), as we forgive our debtors (those who sin against us).
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Selah

Living for and serving The Lord Jesus means living a life pleasing to Him.

Matthew 7:21 KJV
Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven.

Galatians 5:24 NLT
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to His cross and crucified them there.

Romans 8:12-14 NLT
12 Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do.
13 For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of The Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live.
14 For all who are led by The Spirit Of God are children of God.

As Christians, in this life we are being changed.....

II Corinthians 3:18 KJV
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of The Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by The Spirit Of The Lord.

I Corinthians 15:49 KJV
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

Are there any fully sanctified individuals in this world? No, there have been to date, only one, and He is presently sitting at the right of The Father in heaven.

When will Christians be sanctified (without sin)? Let us ask John!

I John 3:2 KJV
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.

Amen
