Bible Questions Answered:
“...I
Corinthians 8:5 says there are many gods!...”
Connie/
Pueblo, Colorado U.S.A.
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
I
Corinthians 8:4-6 KJV
4 As
concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in
sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world,
and that there is none other God but one.
5
For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in
earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6
But to us there is but one God, The Father, of whom are
all things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all
things, and we by Him.
The Apostle Paul, here was referring to Greek and Roman mythology,
false gods, idols, etc.
I
Corinthians 8:4-6 CEV
4
Even though food is offered to idols, we know that none of the
idols in this world are alive. After all, there is only
one God.
5
Many things in heaven and on earth are called gods and lords, but
none of them really are gods or lords.
6 We
have only one God, and He is The Father. He created
everything, and we live for Him. Jesus Christ is our only Lord.
Everything was made by Him, and by Him life was given to us.
The
Second Commandment:
Exodus
20:4-6 KJV
4
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of
any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath,
or that is in the water under the earth.
5
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the
Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers
upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that
hate Me;
6
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love Me, and keep My
commandments.
Psalm
118:1-8 KJV
1
Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for
thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.
2
Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?
3
But our God is in the heavens: He hath done whatsoever He hath
pleased.
4
Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
5
They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see
not:
6
They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell
not:
7
They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk
not: neither speak they through their throat.
8
They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth
in them.
Some churches are filled with idols, that patrons bow down, and pray
to.
Not everyone has the same list of 10 Commandments! What, is that
really so? Yes!
The Christian church, follows the Septuagint listing of the 10
commandments, whereas the Catholic church, follows the Augustine
listing. The Augustine listing “omits the prohibition of images”
.
The Augustine commandment listings omit verses 4-6 (Exodus 20).
The Augustine commandment listing starts the second commandment at
verse 7 “Thou shalt not take the name of The Lord thy God in
vain.”
Now, why would they do that? They would do that, because their church
is filled with images, statues, idols of every kind.
There are thousands of idol entities, pagan false gods, but The
Apostle Paul states....
I
Corinthians 8:4 KJV
“...
there is none other God but one.”
Idolatry:
Leviticus
26:1 KJV
Ye
shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a
standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your
land, to bow down unto it: for I am The Lord your God.
Deuteronomy
7:25 KJV
The
graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not
desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee,
lest thou be snared therin: for it is an abomination to The Lord thy
God.
Deuteronomy
11:16 KJV
Take
heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn
aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
Isaiah
42:8 KJV
I am
The Lord: that is My name: and My glory will I not give to another,
neither My praise to graven images.
I
John 5:21 KJV
Little
children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
Galatians
1:3-5 KJV
3
Grace be to you and peace from God The Father, and from our Lord
Jesus Christ,
4
Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this
present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
5 To
whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
To
God Be The Glory
To God be the glory, great things He hath done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin, And opened the life gate
that all may go in.
Chorus:
Praise The Lord, praise The Lord, let the earth hear His voice!
Praise The Lord, praise The Lord, let the people rejoice!
Oh, come to The Father, through Jesus The Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He hath done.
Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus The Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.

Prayer:
I John 5:1,11-13
KJV
1 Everyone who believes that Jesus
is The Christ has become a child of God..."
11 And this is the record, that God
hath given to us Eternal Life, and this Life is in His Son.
12 He that hath The Son hath Life;
and he that hath not The Son Of God hath not Life.
13 These things have I written unto
you that believe on the name of The Son Of God; that ye may know that
ye have Eternal Life, and that ye may believe on the name of The Son
Of God.

Bible Lesson: Conversations With
Jesus: Instructions To The
Disciples.
Bible Text:
Matthew 10:1-42
Mark 6:7-11
Luke 9:1-6
Bible Topic:
Jesus instructs His disciples.
Matthew 10:1-42 NLT
1 Jesus called
His twelve disciples together and gave them authority to cast out
evil spirits and to heal every kind of disease and illness.
2 Here are the
names of the twelve apostles:
first, Simon
(also called Peter),
then Andrew
(Peter’s brother),
James (son
of Zebedee),
John
(James’s brother),
3
Philip,
Bartholomew,
Thomas,
Matthew
(the tax collector),
James (son of Alphaeus),
Thaddaeus,
4
Simon (the
zealot),
Judas
Iscariot (who later betrayed Him).
5 Jesus sent
out the twelve apostles with these instructions: “Don’t go to the
Gentiles or the Samaritans,
6 but only to
the people of Israel—God’s lost sheep.
7 Go and
announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near.
8 Heal the
sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons.
Give as freely as you have received!
9 “Don’t
take any money in your money belts—no gold, silver, or even copper
coins.
10 Don’t
carry a traveler’s bag with a change of clothes and sandals or even
a walking stick. Don’t hesitate to accept hospitality, because
those who work deserve to be fed.
11 “Whenever
you enter a city or village, search for a worthy person and stay in
his home until you leave town.
12 When you
enter the home, give it your blessing.
13 If it turns
out to be a worthy home, let your blessing stand; if it is not, take
back the blessing.
14 If any
household or town refuses to welcome you or listen to your message,
shake its dust from your feet as you leave.
15 I tell you
The Truth, the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah will be better off
than such a town on the judgment day.
16 “Look, I
am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes
and harmless as doves.
17 But beware!
For you will be handed over to the courts and will be flogged with
whips in the synagogues.
18 You will
stand trial before governors and kings because you are My followers.
But this will be your opportunity to tell the rulers and other
unbelievers about Me.
19 When you are
arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will
give you the right words at the right time.
20 For it is
not you who will be speaking—it will be The Spirit Of Your Father
speaking through you.
21 “A brother
will betray his brother to death, a father will betray his own child,
and children will rebel against their parents and cause them to be
killed.
22 And all
nations will hate you because you are My followers. But everyone who
endures to the end will be saved.
23 When you are
persecuted in one town, flee to the next. I tell you The Truth, The
Son Of Man will return before you have reached all the towns of
Israel.
24 “Students
are not greater than their teacher, and slaves are not greater than
their master.
25 Students are
to be like their teacher, and slaves are to be like their master. And
since I, The Master Of The Household, have been called the prince of
demons, the members of My household will be called by even worse
names!
26 “But don’t
be afraid of those who threaten you. For the time is coming when
everything that is covered will be revealed, and all that is secret
will be made known to all.
27 What I tell
you now in the darkness, shout abroad when daybreak comes. What I
whisper in your ear, shout from the housetops for all to hear!
28 “Don’t
be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your
soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
29 What is the
price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can
fall to the ground without your Father knowing it.
30 And the very
hairs on your head are all numbered.
31 So don’t
be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of
sparrows.
32 “Everyone
who acknowledges Me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge
before My Father in heaven.
33 But everyone
who denies Me here on earth, I will also deny before My Father in
heaven.
34 “Don’t
imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring
peace, but a sword.
35 ‘I have
come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother,
and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
36 Your enemies
will be right in your own household!’
37 “If you
love your father or mother more than you love Me, you are not worthy
of being Mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than Me, you
are not worthy of being Mine.
38 If you
refuse to take up your cross and follow Me, you are not worthy of
being Mine.
39 If you cling
to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for Me,
you will find it.
40 “Anyone
who receives you receives Me, and anyone who receives Me receives The
Father who sent Me.
41 If you
receive a prophet as one who speaks for God, you will be given the
same reward as a prophet. And if you receive righteous people because
of their righteousness, you will be given a reward like theirs.
42 And if you
give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of My followers,
you will surely be rewarded.”
Mark 6:7-11 KJV
7 And He called
unto Him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and
gave them power over unclean spirits;
8 And commanded
them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff
only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:
9 But be shod
with sandals; and not put on two coats.
10 And He said
unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide
till ye depart from that place.
11 And
whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence,
shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them.
Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and
Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
Our Lord, sent them out two by two.
Ecclesiastes 4:9
NLT
Two people are
better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.
The disciples were divinely commissioned, not just to be defensive
messengers only, but by authority of The Lord Jesus, to be Offensive
messengers as well!
Mark 6:7 KJV
“...and gave
them power over unclean spirits;
Mark 16:15-18
NLT
15 And then He
told them, “Go into all the world and preach The Good News to
everyone.
16 Anyone who
believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to
believe will be condemned.
17 These
miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out
demons in My name, and they will speak in new languages.
18 "...They
will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be
healed.”
Luke 10:19 NLT
Look, I have
given you authority over all the power of the enemy..."
They were not to take extra provisions, as God would provide for
them. And they were not to go from house to house.
Mark 6:8-11 KJV
8 And commanded
them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff
only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:
9 But be shod
with sandals; and not put on two coats.
10 And He said
unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide
till ye depart from that place.
11 And
whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence,
shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them.
Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and
Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
Our Lord warned, that rejection of The Gospel, meant certain and
eternal judgment.
Hebrews 10:31
KJV
It is a fearful
thing to fall into the hands of The Living God.
Luke 9:1-6 KJV
1 Then He
called His twelve disciples together, and gave them power and
authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
2 And He sent
them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
3 And He said
unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip,
neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.
4 And
whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart.
5 And whosoever
will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very
dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
6 And they
departed, and went through the towns, preaching The Gospel, and
healing every where.
As Christian people, today our Lord, commissions us!
Matthew 28:18-20
KJV
18 And Jesus
came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me
in heaven and on earth.
19 Go therefore
and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of
The Father and of The Son and of The Holy Spirit,
20 teaching
them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am
with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
God
Leads Us Along
In shady, green pastures, so rich and so sweet,
God leads His dear children along;
Where the water’s cool flow bathes the weary one’s feet,
God leads His dear children along.
Chorus:
Some through the waters, some through the flood,
Some through the fire, but all through The Blood;
Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song,
In the night season and all the day long.
Sometimes on the mount where the sun shines so bright,
God leads His dear children along;
Sometimes in the valley, in darkest of night,
God leads His dear children along.
Though sorrows befall us and Satan oppose,
God leads His dear children along;
Through grace we can conquer, defeat all our foes,
God leads His dear children along.
Away from the mire, and away from the clay,
God leads His dear children along;
Away up in glory, eternity’s day,
God leads His dear children along.

I John 1:8-10

Bible Questions Answered:
“...in
our group then was the question, how do we know when something is
false?...”
Shiwoo/
Gyeryong, South Korea
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
Seven verses in I John 4: that test whether a doctrine or dogma, is
of The Truth.
1)
What does the doctrine say, concerning the humanity of The Lord
Jesus Christ?
I
John 4:2 KJV
Hereby
know ye The Spirit Of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus
Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
2)
What
does it say concerning the Divinity of Jesus Christ?
I
John 4:9,15 KJV
9 In
this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent
His Only Begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
15
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is The Son Of God, God dwelleth in
him, and he in God.
3)
What
does the doctrine say about Christ's vicarious atonement?
I John 4:10,14 NLT
10
This is real love—not that we loved God, but that He loved us and
sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
14
Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that The
Father sent His Son to be The Savior Of The World.
4)
Does it's beliefs lead to worldliness and acceptance of worldly
ideas?
I
John 4:4,5 KJV
4 Ye
are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater
is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5
They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the
world heareth them.
5)
Do spiritual leaders, agree with the doctrine?
I
John 4:6 MSG
But
we come from God and belong to God. Anyone who knows God understands
us and listens. The person who has nothing to do with God will, of
course, not listen to us. This is another test for telling The Spirit
Of Truth from the spirit of deception.
6)
Does it speak of The Spirit of Divine love?
I
John 4:7,8 KJV
7
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one
that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He
that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
7)
Does the doctrine, honor God The Holy Spirit?
I
John 4:13 CEV
God
has given us His Spirit. That is how we know that we are one with
Him, just as He is one with us.
Truth
Divine
Truth Divine, by angels spoken,
Clothed in strains of music grand;
Like a chain with links unbroken,
Like A Rock on which we stand.
Chorus:
Rock Of Truth, on thee abiding—
Thus protected we shall be
In Jehovah’s presence hiding,
Unto all eternity.
Truth Divine, we own its Author,
Maker of eternal things;
Praise to Him we gladly offer
For the hope and grace it brings.
We Thy counsel, Lord, have taken,
Creeds are crumbling ’neath our feet:
Here we stand, by sin unshaken,
Here we reign in grace complete.
God of love, we meekly pray Thee,
Light and life to us impart:
Uncondemned, we will obey Thee,
Dwell Thou ever in our heart.

Romans 10:9, 10 KJV
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth The Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto Salvation.
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth The Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

“...our
church seems to be a loving church...”
Brad/
Columbia, South Carolina U.S.A.
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
A
Church of The Lord Jesus Christ, should be...
A Loving Church.
I John 4:11 KJV
Beloved,
if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
Matthew 25:31-46 NLT (The Final Judgment)
31
“But when The Son Of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels
with Him, then He will sit upon His glorious throne.
32
All the nations will be gathered in His presence, and He will
separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33
He will place the sheep at His right hand and the goats at His left.
34
“Then The King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are
blessed by My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the
creation of the world.
35
For I was hungry, and you fed Me. I was thirsty, and you gave Me a
drink. I was a stranger, and you invited Me into your home.
36 I
was naked, and you gave Me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for
Me. I was in prison, and you visited Me.’
37
“Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever
see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to
drink?
38
Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you
clothing?
39
When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
40
“And The King will say, ‘I tell you The Truth, when you did it to
one of the least of these My brothers and sisters, you were doing it
to Me!’
41
“Then The King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with
you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil
and his demons.
42
For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed Me. I was thirsty, and you
didn’t give Me a drink.
43 I
was a stranger, and you didn’t invite Me into your home. I was
naked, and you didn’t give Me clothing. I was sick and in prison,
and you didn’t visit Me.’
44
“Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or
thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help
you?’
45
“And He will answer, ‘I tell you The Truth, when you refused to
help the least of these My brothers and sisters, you were refusing to
help Me.’
46
“And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous
will go into eternal Life.”
Caring
For Human Need:
Proverbs
19:17 NLT
If
you help the poor, you are lending to The Lord— and He will repay
you!
Matthew 19:21 KJV
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow Me.
Galatians 2:10 NLT (Paul)
Their only suggestion was that we keep on helping the poor, which I have always been eager to do.
Caring For The Wounded In Spirit:
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow Me.
Galatians 2:10 NLT (Paul)
Their only suggestion was that we keep on helping the poor, which I have always been eager to do.
Caring For The Wounded In Spirit:
Hebrews 4:14-16 NLT (Christ Is Our High Priest)
14 So then, since we have A Great High Priest who has entered
heaven, Jesus The Son Of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe.
15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for He faced
all of the same testings we do, yet He did not sin.
16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we
will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we
need it most.
Caring
For Lost Souls:
Ezekiel
3:16-21 KJV
16
And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of The
Lord came unto me, saying,
17
Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel:
therefore hear the word at My mouth, and give them warning from Me.
18
When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest
him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way,
to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but
his blood will I require at thine hand.
19
Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor
from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast
delivered thy soul.
20
Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and
commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall
die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his
sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be
remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
21
Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin
not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned;
also thou hast delivered thy soul.
A
Loving Church Is An Evangelizing Church:
Matthew
28:19,20 KJV
19
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of
The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Ghost:
20
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Acts
1:8 KJV
But
ye shall receive power, after that The Holy Ghost is come upon you:
and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all
Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Luke
14:23 KJV
And
the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges,
and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
Jude
1:22,23 KJV
22
And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23
And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even
the garment spotted by the flesh.
Rescue
The Perishing
Rescue the perishing, care for the dying,
Snatch them in pity from sin and the grave;
Weep o’er the erring one, lift up the fallen,
Tell them of Jesus, the mighty to save.
Chorus:
Rescue the perishing, care for the dying,
Jesus is merciful, Jesus will save.
Though they are slighting Him, still He is waiting,
Waiting the penitent child to receive;
Plead with them earnestly, plead with them gently;
He will forgive if they only believe.
Down in the human heart, crushed by the tempter,
Feelings lie buried that grace can restore;
Touched by a loving heart, wakened by kindness,
Chords that were broken will vibrate once more.
Rescue the perishing, duty demands it;
Strength for thy labor the Lord will provide;
Back to the narrow way patiently win them;
Tell the poor wand’rer a Savior has died.

Prayer:
John 1;12,13 KJV
12 But as many as received Him, to
them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that
believe on His name:
13
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of
the will of man, but of God.

Bible Lesson: Conversations With
Jesus: Christ's Messianic Mission.
Bible Text:
Bible Topic:
Matthew 13:54-58 KJV
54 And when He
was come into His own country, He taught them in their synagogue,
insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this Man
this wisdom, and these mighty works?
55 Is not this
The Carpenter's Son? is not His mother called Mary? and His brethren,
James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
56 And His
sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this Man all
these things?
57 And they
were offended in Him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not
without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house.
58 And He did
not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Mark 6:1-6 KJV
1 And He went
out from thence, and came into His own country; and His disciples
follow Him.
2 And when the
sabbath day was come, He began to teach in the synagogue: and many
hearing Him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this Man these
things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto Him, that even
such mighty works are wrought by His hands?
3 Is not this
The Carpenter, The Son Of Mary, The Brother Of James, and Joses, and
of Juda, and Simon? and are not His sisters here with us? And they
were offended at Him.
4 But Jesus,
said unto them, A prophet is not without honor, but in his own
country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
5 And He could
there do no mighty work, save that He laid His hands upon a few sick
folk, and healed them.
6 And He
marveled because of their unbelief. And He went round about the
villages, teaching.
Luke 4:16-30 KJV
16 And He came
to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and, as His custom was, He
went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17 And there
was delivered unto Him The Book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He
had opened The Book, He found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit
Of The Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach The
Gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to
preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the
blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach
the acceptable year of The Lord.
Isaiah
61:1,2 KJV
1
The Spirit Of The Lord God is upon Me; because
The
Lord hath anointed Me to preach good tidings
unto
the meek; He hath sent Me to bind up the broken
hearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the
opening
of the prison to them that are bound;
2
To proclaim the acceptable year of The Lord...”
20 And He
closed The Book, and He gave it again to the minister, and sat down.
And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on
Him.
21 And He began
to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
22 And all bare
Him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out
of His mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's Son?
23 And He said
unto them, Ye will surely say unto Me this proverb, Physician, heal
thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in
thy country.
24 And He said,
Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.
25 But I tell
you of a Truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah,
when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great
famine was throughout all the land;
26 But unto
none of them was Elijah sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon,
unto a woman that was a widow.
27 And many
lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet; and none of
them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.
28 And all they
in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with
wrath,
Our Lord's Messianic mission, was not to be as a liberating king, freeing from
Roman occupation, as the Jews so wished, but rather, The Heavenly
Father's Messianic Passover Lamb, taking away the sins of those who
would accept Him.
But the Jews refused to accept Him, as God's Son, and so Jesus did
not hold back from telling them of their rejection, as it was during
the times of Elijah and Elisha, and so God turned to the Gentiles to
show His love and care for those who would turn to Him, this the Jews
did not, want to hear.
They became incited unto great wrath....
29 And rose up, and thrust Him out of the city, and led Him unto the
brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast
Him down headlong.
30 But He passing through the midst of them went His way,
Now some would ask, why was it that our Lord, only recited ½ of
verse 2 of Isaiah 61, leaving off the last half of the verse.
Isaiah 61:1,2
KJV
1 The Spirit Of
The Lord God is upon Me; because The Lord hath anointed Me to preach
good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent Me to bind up the
brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening
of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim
the acceptable year of The Lord, and the day of vengeance of our
God; to comfort all that mourn;
Vengeance, would not be the work of God's people, but that of God
alone!
Romans 12:19-21
KJV
19 Dearly
beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for
it is written, Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, saith The Lord.
20 Therefore if
thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so
doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Be not
overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Some will say, what about in the Old Testament times, God told Israel
to destroy their enemies.
At the time Israel was God's servant, His right hand, and He was
building a nation (that was to be a nation of priests).
But the people of God, rebelled, and fell into sin, and judgment.
Concerning Christians, Apostle Paul writes saying...
Romans 12:19 KJV
Dearly beloved,
avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is
written, Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, saith The Lord.
Two times, The Lord, recited from Hosea 6:6 …
Hosea 6:6 KJV
For I
desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the
knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
Hosea 6:6 NLT
I want you
to show love, not offer sacrifices. I want you to
know Me more than I want burnt offerings.
Matthew 9:13 KJV
But go ye and
learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice:
for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Matthew 12:7 KJV
But if ye had
known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice,
ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
Our Lord's
Messianic Mission:
Isaiah 61:1,2
KJV
1 The Spirit Of
The Lord God is upon Me; because The Lord hath anointed Me to preach
good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent Me to bind up the
brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening
of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim
the acceptable year of The Lord,
More
Like The Master
More like the Master I would ever be,
More of His meekness, more humility;
More zeal to labor, more courage to be true,
More consecration for work He bids me do.
Chorus:
Take Thou my heart, I would be Thine alone;
Take Thou my heart, and make it all Thine own;
Purge me from sin, O Lord, I now implore,
Wash me and keep me Thine forevermore.
More like the Master is my daily prayer;
More strength to carry crosses I must bear;
More earnest effort to bring His kingdom in;
More of His Spirit, the wanderer to win.
More like the Master I would live and grow;
More of His love to others I would show;
More self-denial, like His in Galilee,
More like the Master I long to ever be.

Prayer:
John 20:30,31 KJV
30 And many
other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of His disciples, which
are not written in this book:
31 But these
are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is The Christ, The Son
Of God; and that believing ye might have Life through His name.
Acts 2:21,38 KJV
21 “And it shall come to pass,
that whosoever shall call on the name of The Lord shall be saved.”
38 Then Peter said unto them,
Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ
for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive The Gift Of The Holy
Ghost.

Refrain:
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels, descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
