Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
We live in an age of disrespect.
Disrespect, a sign of an evil age.
I
Corinthians 15:33 KJV
Be
not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
James 3:2-12 NLT (Controlling the Tongue)
2
Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our
tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in
every other way.
3 We
can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in
its mouth.
4
And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses
to go, even though the winds are strong.
5 In
the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches.
But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire.
6
And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire.
It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It
can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell
itself.
7
People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish,
8
but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of
deadly poison.
9
Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses
those who have been made in the image of God.
10
And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth.
Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!
11
Does a spring of water bubble out with both fresh water and bitter
water?
12
Does a fig tree produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? No, and
you can’t draw fresh water from a salty spring.
Christians should …
Respect
Our Living God:
Exodus
20:1-7 NLT
1
Then God gave the people all these instructions:
2 “I
am The Lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the
place of your slavery.
3
“You must not have any other god but Me.
4
“You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of
anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea.
5
You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, The Lord your
God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any
other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the
entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth
generations of those who reject Me.
6
But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who
love Me and obey My commands.
7
“You must not misuse the name of The Lord your God. The Lord will
not let you go unpunished if you misuse His name.
Psalm
95:6 KJV
O
come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before The Lord our
maker.
Matthew
22:37,38 KJV
37
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love The Lord thy God with all thy
heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38
This is the first and great commandment.
Respect
Authorities:
Romans
13:1-5 NLT
1
Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority
comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed
there by God.
2 So
anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has
instituted, and they will be punished.
3
For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right,
but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear
of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you.
4
The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you
are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the
power to punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very
purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong.
5 So
you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to
keep a clear conscience.
Respect
Parents:
Ephesians
6:1-3 KJV
1
Children, obey your parents in The Lord: for this is right.
2
Honor thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with
promise;
3
That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the
earth.
Respect
Employers:
Colossians
3:22 NLT
"...obey
your earthly masters in everything you do. Try to please them all the
time, not just when they are watching you. Serve them sincerely
because of your reverent fear of The Lord.
I
Timothy 6:1 KJV
Let
as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy
of all honor, that the name of God and His doctrine be not
blasphemed.
Respect,
Friends And Neighbors:
Philippians 2:3 NLT
Don’t
be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of
others as better than yourselves.
I
Peter 2:17 NLT
Respect
everyone, and love the family of believers. Fear God, and respect the
king.
Respect
The Law:
I
Peter 2:13,14 NLT
13
For The Lord’s sake, submit to all human authority—whether the
king as head of state,
14
or the officials he has appointed. For the king has sent them to
punish those who do wrong and to honor those who do right.
Holy,
Holy, Holy
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!
Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,
Who was, and is, and evermore shall be.
Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see;
Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee,
Perfect in pow’r, in love, and purity.
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy Name, in earth, and sky, and sea;
Holy, holy, holy; merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Prayer:
Isaiah
45:21,22,25 KJV
21 "...there is no God else
beside Me; a just God and a Savior; there is none beside Me.
22 Look unto Me, and be ye saved,
all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
25 I, even I, am He that blotteth
out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy
sins.
Isaiah 55:6 KJV
Seek ye The Lord while He may be
found, call ye upon Him while He is near:
