Bible Lesson: Answered Prayer: Abijah Prays For Deliverance.

Bible Lesson: Answered Prayer: Abijah Prays For Deliverance.

Subject Of Prayer: Abijah Prayed For Military Deliverance From Jeroboam King of Israel.

Bible Text:

II Kings 13:14-18 NLT
14 When Judah realized that they were being attacked from the front and the rear, they cried out to
The Lord for help. Then the priests blew the trumpets,
15 and the men of Judah began to shout. At the sound of their battle cry, God defeated Jeroboam and all Israel and routed them before Abijah and the army of Judah.
16 The Israelite army fled from Judah, and God handed them over to Judah in defeat.
17 Abijah and his army inflicted heavy losses on them; 500,000 of Israel’s select troops were killed that day.
18 So Judah defeated Israel on that occasion because they trusted in The Lord, the God of their ancestors.

King Abijah (Son of Rehoboam), was the king of Judah.
The Kingdom of Israel had become a divided kingdom under king Rehoboam.

Israel's king (Northern ten tribes), Jeroboam was at war with the (Southern) tribes of Judah, Jerusalem and Benjamin, and King Abijah.

II Chronicles 13:2,3 NLT
2...Then war broke out between Abijah and Jeroboam.
3 Judah, led by King Abijah, fielded 400,000 select warriors, while Jeroboam mustered 800,000 select troops from Israel.

King Abijah was in trouble and he knew it. Out numbered two to one, what would he do?

II Chronicles 13:4-13 NLT
4 When the army of Judah arrived in the hill country of Ephraim, Abijah stood on Mount Zemaraim and shouted to Jeroboam and all Israel: “Listen to me!
5 Don’t you realize that The Lord, The God Of Israel, made a lasting covenant with David, giving him and his descendants the throne of Israel forever?
6 Yet Jeroboam son of Nebat, a mere servant of David’s son Solomon, rebelled against his master.
7 Then a whole gang of scoundrels joined him, defying Solomon’s son Rehoboam when he was young and inexperienced and could not stand up to them.
8 “Do you really think you can stand against the kingdom of The Lord that is led by the descendants of David? You may have a vast army, and you have those gold calves that Jeroboam made as your gods.
9 But you have chased away the priests of The Lord (the descendants of Aaron) and the Levites, and you have appointed your own priests, just like the pagan nations. You let anyone become a priest these days! Whoever comes to be dedicated with a young bull and seven rams can become a priest of these so-called gods of yours!
10 “But as for us, The Lord is our God, and we have not abandoned Him. Only the descendants of Aaron serve The Lord as priests, and the Levites alone may help them in their work.
11 They present burnt offerings and fragrant incense to The Lord every morning and evening. They place The Bread Of The Presence on the holy table, and they light the gold lamp stand every evening. We are following the instructions of The Lord our God, but you have abandoned Him.
12 So you see, God is with us. He is our Leader. His priests blow their trumpets and lead us into battle against you. O people of Israel, do not fight against The Lord, the God of your ancestors, for you will not succeed!”
13 Meanwhile, Jeroboam had secretly sent part of his army around behind the men of Judah to ambush them.
14 When Judah realized that they were being attacked from the front and the rear, they cried out to the Lord for help.

Dear friend, does it seem as though the enemy has you surrounded, and that there is no place to turn?
Do what God's people of Judah did!

II Chronicles 13:14 NLT
When Judah realized that they were being attacked from the front and the rear, they cried out to
The Lord for help.

And what happened?

II Chronicles 13:14-20 NLT
"...Then the priests blew the trumpets,
15 and the men of Judah began to shout.
19 Abijah and his army pursued Jeroboam’s troops and captured some of his towns, including Bethel, Jeshanah, and Ephron, along with their surrounding villages.
20 So Jeroboam of Israel never regained his power during Abijah’s lifetime, and finally The Lord struck him down and he died.

King Jeroboam defeated, King Abijah victorious, allbecause they trusted in The Lord, the God of their ancestors.”

God is with those who live for Him, and who pray!

19 Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.
20 But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.”

I Corinthians 10:13 KJV

Regeneration

Bible Questions Answered:
“... what then is regeneration...?”
Johnson/ Samara Oblast, Russia

Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:

Matthew 19:28 KJV
And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed Me, in the regeneration* when The Son Of Man shall sit in the throne of His glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Titus 3:5 KJV
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration*, and renewing of The Holy Ghost;

*Regeneration-Greek: Paliggenesia (Pal-ing-ghen-es-ee-ah): Spiritual rebirth (the state or the act), i.e. spiritual renovation.

To regenerate: reconstruct, recreate, reestablish, rejuvenate, renew, renovate, revive, restore, re birth

Romans 5:12-21 NLT (The First Adam versus The Second Adam, Christ.)
12 When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.
13 Yes, people sinned even before the law was given. But it was not counted as sin because there was not yet any law to break.
14 Still, everyone died—from the time of Adam to the time of Moses—even those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did. Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ, who was yet to come.
15 But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious Gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His Gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ.
16 And the result of God’s gracious Gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free Gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins.
17 For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His Gift Of Righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one Man, Jesus Christ.
18 Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone.
19 Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous (Spiritual Regeneration).
20 God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant.
21 So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

John 3:1-21 KJV
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a Teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again (Spiritual Regeneration), he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto Him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of The Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of The Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of The Spirit.
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even The Son Of Man which is in heaven.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must The Son Of Man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of The Only Begotten Son Of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than Light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth The Light, neither cometh to The Light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth Truth cometh to The Light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Jeremiah 18:3,4 KJV
3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred* in the hand of the potter..."

*Marred-Hebrew: Shachath (Shaw-khath): To decay, i.e. ruin, cast off, corrupt (thing), utterly, waste.

Through Adam's sin, all of humanity, had become, spiritually corrupt, and in ruin.
But God, made a way for man to come back to Him, and that way of regeneration, renewal, rebirth, was and is through His Only Begotten Son, The Lord Jesus Christ.

John 3:15-17 KJV
15 That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

Regeneration:

Psalm 51:9-12 KJV
9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right Spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free Spirit.

Ezekiel 11:19,20 KJV
19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new Spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:
20 That they may walk in My statutes, and keep Mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

Ezekiel 36:26,27 KJV
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new Spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27 And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep My judgments, and do them.

John 1:12,13 KJV
12 But as many as received Him (Christ), to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

II Corinthians 5:17 KJV
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Titus 3:3-7 NLT
3 Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other.
4 But—When God our Savior revealed His kindness and love,
5 He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through The Holy Spirit.
6 He generously poured out The Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.
7 Because of His grace He declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.

I Peter 1:21-23 NLT
21 Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because He raised Christ from the dead and gave Him great glory.
22 You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed The Truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart.
23 For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from The Eternal, Living Word Of God.

I John 5:1-5 NLT
1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is The Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves
The Father loves His children, too.
2 We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey His commandments.
3 Loving God means keeping His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome.
4 For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.
5 And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is The Son Of God.

Grieving God The Holy Spirit

Bible Questions Answered:
“Pastor, we want to know what is grieving the Holy Spirit?...”
Shelly/ Hamm, Germany

Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:

Blasphemy against God The Holy Spirit:
(To show utter disrespect, contempt, to revile, to profane, the things of God. Unpardonable sin.
Attributing the works of God to Satan.)

Matthew 12:24-32 KJV
24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
28 But if I cast out devils by The Spirit Of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
30 He that is not with Me is against Me; and he that gathereth not with Me scattereth abroad.
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against The Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against The Son Of Man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against The Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

I John 5:16 NLT
If you see a fellow believer sinning in a way that does not lead to (spiritual) death, you should pray, and God will give that person life. But there is a sin that leads to (spiritual) death, and I am not saying you should pray for those who commit it.

The Unpardonable Sin against God The Holy Spirit:

Homily

Homilies never prove anything, but they can help us grasp a concept other wise hidden.
The sin against God The Holy Spirit has been likened unto someone throwing a grain of sand against a plate glass window.Outside are cold blowing winds, and rain, inside warmth and light.

No harm, the person says, and so again and again, he throws sand at the window that lets in all the light, and keeps out the deadly cold. One grain at at time. This is what someone who refuses to come to Christ, and obey Him, is doing, he is fighting against God's Holy Spirit.

Some may warn the man, saying, you are fighting against God, better stop and repent, but their words fall on deaf ears, for the man will not listen, for he disrespects the light.

I John 5:16 KJV John wrote saying "... there is a sin that leads to (spiritual) death, and I am not saying you should pray for those who commit it."

Why, because we cannot FORCE people into the kingdom of God, they must come willingly, and if someone is determined to hate God, and love the devil, that is his choice.

Grain of sand after grain of sand, until one day the hour comes, when CRASH, the window that gave all the beautiful warm rays of light is shattered and broken.

Forever too late now to preserve life..

God "never," sends anyone to hell, they choose to go there themselves! All in hell have committed the unpardonable sin, of rejecting God Precious Holy Spirit, and His call to come to The Lord, love and obey Him. The opportunity forever lost, in this world, and in the world to come.

Superficial Relationship With God:

Hebrews 6:4-6 NLT
4 For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit,
5 who have tasted the goodness of The Word Of God and the power of the age to come—
6 and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting The Son Of God, they themselves are nailing Him to the cross once again and holding Him up to public shame.

Lying To God The Holy Spirit:

Acts 5:3,4 KJV
3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to The Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

Tempting God The Holy Spirit:

Acts 5:9 KJV
Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt The Spirit Of The Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

Quenching God The Holy Spirit:

I Thessalonians 5:19 KJV
Quench not The Spirit.

Grieving God The Holy Spirit:

Isaiah 63:10 KJV
But they rebelled, and vexed His Holy Spirit: therefore He was turned to be their enemy, and He fought against them.

Ephesians 4:30 KJV
And grieve not The Holy Spirit Of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Insulting God The Holy Spirit:

Hebrews 10:29 NLT
Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on The Son Of God, and have treated The Blood Of The Covenant, which made us holy, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained The Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to us.

Resisting God The Holy Spirit:

Acts 7:51 NLT
You stubborn people! You are heathen at heart and deaf to The Truth. Must you forever resist
The Holy Spirit? That’s what your ancestors did, and so do you!

Bible Lesson: Answered Prayer: Reubenites Prayed For Military Victory.

Bible Lesson: Answered Prayer: Reubenites Prayed For Military Victory.

Subject Of Prayer: Victory Over The Enemy.

Bible Text:

I Chronicles 5:18-22 NLT (Tribes East of the Jordan)
18 There were 44,760 capable warriors in the armies of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh. They were all skilled in combat and armed with shields, swords, and bows.
19 They waged war against the Hagrites, the Jeturites, the Naphishites, and the Nodabites.
20 They cried out to God during the battle, and He answered their prayer because they trusted in Him. So the Hagrites and all their allies were defeated.
21 The plunder taken from the Hagrites included 50,000 camels, 250,000 sheep and goats, 2,000 donkeys, and 100,000 captives.
22 Many of the Hagrites were killed in the battle because God was fighting against them. The people of Reuben, Gad, and Manasseh lived in their land until they were taken into exile.
