Revival-2

Bible Questions Answered:
“...so this special speaker, who we had never heard of told us that we need revival, a couple whispered amen, most said nothing, What did he have in mind anyway?...”
Harriet/ Saskatoon, Canada (Saskatchewan)

Bible Answer:

Revival: A reviving or being revived, as a bringing or coming back into use, attention, or being, after a decline. Restoration to vigor or activity. A returning to life or consciousness. A stirring up religious faith by fervid evangelistic preaching at public meetings. A series of such meetings with public confession of sins and professions of renewed faith.
(New World Dictionary)

Christian people are to pray for revival! (Is that you?)

Psalm 51:10-12 KJV
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy Free Spirit.

Psalm 80:7 KJV
Turn us again, O God Of Hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

Psalm 85:6 KJV
Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

Isaiah 32:15-17 NLT
15 until at last The Spirit is poured out on us from heaven...
16 Justice will rule in the wilderness and righteousness in the fertile field.
17 And this righteousness will bring peace. Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever.

And our God has promised renewal!

II Chronicles 7:14 KJV
If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Isaiah 35:1,10 NLT
1 Even the wilderness and desert will be glad in those days.
10 Those who have been ransomed by The Lord will return. They will enter Jerusalem singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be filled with joy and gladness.

Isaiah 55:7 KJV
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto The Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

Lamentations 3:40 KJV
Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to The Lord.

Hosea 6:1-3 KJV
1 Come, and let us return unto The Lord: for He hath torn, and He will heal us; He hath smitten, and He will bind us up.
2 After two days will He revive us: in the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight.
3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know The Lord: His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

Hosea 14:1,2 NLT
1 Return...to The Lord your God, for your sins have brought you down.
2 Bring your confessions, and return to The Lord. Say to Him, “Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us, so that we may offer you our praises.

Habakkuk 3:2 NLT
I have heard all about you, Lord. I am filled with awe by your amazing works. In this time of our deep need, help us again as you did in years gone by. And in your anger, remember your mercy.

God's people revived, renewed, restored:

Samuel calls God's people to repentance.
I Samuel 7:3,4 KJV
3 And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto The Lord with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto The Lord, and serve Him only: and He will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
4 Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served The Lord only.

Elijah shows the people of God, their God, hears and answers prayer.
I Kings 18:37-39 KJV
37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art The Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
38 Then the fire of The Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, He is The God; The Lord, He is The God.

The people of Judah, under King Hezekiah.
II Chronicles 30:11-16 NLT
11 "...some people from Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and went to Jerusalem.
12 At the same time, God’s hand was on the people in the land of Judah, giving them all one heart to obey the orders of the king and his officials, who were following The Word Of The Lord.
13 So a huge crowd assembled at Jerusalem in midspring to celebrate the Festival of Unleavened Bread.
14 They set to work and removed the pagan altars from Jerusalem. They took away all the incense altars and threw them into the Kidron Valley.
15 On the fourteenth day of the second month, one month later than usual, the people slaughtered the Passover lamb. This shamed the priests and Levites, so they purified themselves and brought burnt offerings to the Temple of the Lord.
16 Then they took their places at the Temple as prescribed in the Law of Moses, the man of God. The Levites brought the sacrificial blood to the priests, who then sprinkled it on the altar.

Prophecy:
Zechariah 8:20-23 NLT
20 “This is what The Lord Of Heaven’s Armies says: People from nations and cities around the world will travel to Jerusalem.
21 The people of one city will say to the people of another, ‘Come with us to Jerusalem to ask The Lord to bless us. Let’s worship The Lord Of Heaven’s Armies. I’m determined to go.’
22 Many peoples and powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to seek The Lord Of Heaven’s Armies and to ask for His blessing.
23 “This is what The Lord Of Heaven’s Armies says: In those days ten men from different nations and languages of the world will clutch at the sleeve of one Jew. And they will say, ‘Please let us walk with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”

Peter preaches in Jerusalem.
Acts 2:41 NLT
Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all.

Philip ministers in Samaria.
Acts 8:4-8 NLT
4 But the believers who were scattered preached The Good News about Jesus wherever they went.
5 Philip, for example, went to the city of Samaria and told the people there about the Messiah.
6 Crowds listened intently to Philip because they were eager to hear his message and see the miraculous signs he did.
7 Many evil spirits were cast out, screaming as they left their victims. And many who had been paralyzed or lame were healed.
8 So there was great joy in that city.

Peter prays for Aeneas.
Acts 9:32-35 NLT
32 Meanwhile, Peter traveled from place to place, and he came down to visit the believers in the town of Lydda.
33 There he met a man named Aeneas, who had been paralyzed and bedridden for eight years.
34 Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you! Get up, and roll up your sleeping mat!” And he was healed instantly.
35 Then the whole population of Lydda and Sharon saw Aeneas walking around, and they turned to The Lord.

Believers of Antioch of Syria
Acts 11:19-21 NLT
19 Meanwhile, the believers who had been scattered during the persecution after Stephen’s death traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch of Syria. They preached the Word Of God, but only to Jews.
20 However, some of the believers who went to Antioch from Cyprus and Cyrene began preaching to the Gentiles about The Lord Jesus.
21 The power of The Lord was with them, and a large number of these Gentiles believed and turned to The Lord.

Friends, now is the time to turn our hearts to The Lord!
Hosea 10:12 KJV
Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow (hard) ground:
for it is time to seek The Lord, till He come and rain righteousness upon you.

Psalm 80:18,19 KJV
18 So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
19 Turn us again, O Lord God Of Hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

Psalm 119:25,40,50,88,149 NLT
25 I lie in the dust; revive me by your Word.
40 I long to obey your commandments! Renew my life with your goodness.
50 Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles.
88 In your unfailing love, spare my life; then I can continue to obey your laws.
149 In your faithful love, O Lord, hear my cry; let me be revived by following your regulations.

Psalm 143:11 NLT
For the glory of your name, O Lord, preserve my life. Because of your faithfulness, bring me out of this distress.

Habakkuk 3:2 KJV
O Lord, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.

John 5:21 KJV
For as The Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so The Son quickeneth whom He will.

John 6:63 KJV
It is The Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the Words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are Life.

Backsliding

Bible Questions Answered:
“What exactly is what is called back sliding and how does a person know if they have done it?....”
Ra'naa/ Capetown, South Africa (Western Cape)

Bible Answer:

Backslide: To slide backward in morals or religious enthusiasm; become less virtuous, less pious, etc.
(New World Dictionary)

The risen Lord Jesus Christ, told the Laodicean church....

Revelation 3:14-22 KJV
14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith The Amen, The Faithful And True Witness, The Beginning Of The Creation Of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of Me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.
21 To him that over cometh will I grant to sit with Me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in His throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what The Spirit saith unto the churches.

Lukewarmness, a sign of the last days.

Backsliding:

Exodus 32:1,8 NLT
1 When the people saw how long it was taking Moses to come back down the mountain, they gathered around Aaron. “Come on,” they said, “make us some gods who can lead us. We don’t know what happened to this fellow Moses, who brought us here from the land of Egypt.”
8 How quickly they have turned away from the way I commanded them to live! They have melted down gold and made a calf, and they have bowed down and sacrificed to it. They are saying, ‘These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.’”

I Samuel 7:3,4 NLT (Israel repents and returns to The Lord.)
3 Then Samuel said to all the people of Israel, “If you are really serious about wanting to return to The Lord, get rid of your foreign gods and your images of Ashtoreth. Determine to obey only The Lord; then He will rescue you from the Philistines.”
4 So the Israelites got rid of their images of Baal and Ashtoreth and worshiped only The Lord.

I Kings 11:4 KJV
For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with The Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.

II Chronicles 25:2,14 NLT
2 Amaziah did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight, but not wholeheartedly.
14 When King Amaziah returned from slaughtering the Edomites, he brought with him idols taken from the people of Seir. He set them up as his own gods, bowed down in front of them, and offered sacrifices to them!

Matthew 24:12 KJV
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Luke 8:11,13 KJV
11 “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is God’s word.
13 The seeds on the rocky soil represent those who hear the message and receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they believe for a while, then they fall away when they face temptation.

Luke 11:24-26 NLT
24 “When an evil spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, searching for rest. But when it finds none, it says, ‘I will return to the person I came from.’
25 So it returns and finds that its former home is all swept and in order.
26 Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than before.”

John 6:63,64,66 KJV
63 It is The Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are Life.
64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray Him.
66 From that time many of His disciples went back, and walked no more with Him.

II Timothy 4:10 NLT (Paul writes to Timothy.)
Demas has deserted me because he loves the things of this life and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, and Titus has gone to Dalmatia.

Hebrew 10:39,39 KJV
38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him.
39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

“If I have gone back on my faith, will the Lord forgive me?”
Yes!

Isaiah 42:3 KJV
A bruised reed shall He not break, and the smoking flax shall He not quench..."

In our Lord's day, a reed or flax was used as a wick in a lamp.
When one saw a smoking flax in a lamp, it meant that the lamp had run out of oil. Some would no doubt throw away the flax, put in a new one and refill the lamp with oil.

But our Lord says, “a bruised reed He shall not break, and the smoking flax He shall not quench.
Our God, pours in again the oil, and blows by His Spirit upon the smoking flax (wick) and it again rekindles, and gives off light. Praise The Lord!

When someone stumbles and falls, under grace, our Lord, He doesn't cast them away but desires that they repent, and be strengthened by His Spirit, refilled and rekindled, to again shine brightly!

Isaiah 55:7 KJV
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto The Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

Hosea 6:1 KJV
Come, and let us return unto The Lord: for He hath torn, and He will heal us; He hath smitten, and He will bind us up.

Hosea 14:1 KJV
O...return unto The Lord thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.

II Corinthians 7:10 NLT
For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.

Hebrews 12:1-4 NLT
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, The Champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now He is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
3 Think of all the hostility He endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.
4 After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin.

II Peter 3:9 KJV
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Baptism-Infant-2

Bible Questions Answered:
“I am a member of a church that has always believed in child baptism. The jailer and his household were baptized!.....”
Clarence/ Rimini, Italy

Bible Answer:

First of all read the blog posting..... Baptism-Infant
(Whenever you have a Bible Question go to ….View A List Of Subjects, on The Bible Prayer Line page.

And we could add to this information the following:

Jesus said....
John 13:15 KJV
For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

Well, surprise, Jesus was never baptized as an infant!
For some of our friends, you might want to go back and read that 3 or 4 times!

Jesus was taken to the temple as a young child for “dedication.”

Luke 2:21-24 NLT
21 Eight days later, when the baby was circumcised, He was named Jesus, the name given Him by the angel even before He was conceived.
22 Then it was time for their purification offering, as required by the law of Moses after the birth of a child; so his parents took Him to Jerusalem to present Him to The Lord.
23 The law of The Lord says, “If a woman’s first child is a boy, he must be dedicated to The Lord.”
24 So they offered the sacrifice required in the law of The Lord—“either a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.”

Jesus was not baptized until a young man, entering His ministry.

Matthew 3:13-17 NLT
13 Then Jesus went from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John.
14 But John tried to talk Him out of it. “I am the one who needs to be baptized by you,” he said, “so why are you coming to me?”
15 But Jesus said, “It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires.” So John agreed to baptize Him.
16 After His baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw The Spirit Of God descending like A Dove and settling on Him.
17 And A Voice from heaven said, “This is My Dearly Loved Son, who brings Me great joy.”

Acts 16:16-31 NLT (Paul and Silas in prison, and the Philippian jailer.)
16 One day as we were going down to the place of prayer, we met a demon-possessed slave girl. She was a fortune-teller who earned a lot of money for her masters.
17 She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, and they have come to tell you how to be saved.”
18 This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly it left her.
19 Her masters’ hopes of wealth were now shattered, so they grabbed Paul and Silas and dragged them before the authorities at the marketplace.
20 “The whole city is in an uproar because of these Jews!” they shouted to the city officials.
21 “They are teaching customs that are illegal for us Romans to practice.”
22 A mob quickly formed against Paul and Silas, and the city officials ordered them stripped and beaten with wooden rods.
23 They were severely beaten, and then they were thrown into prison. The jailer was ordered to make sure they didn’t escape.
24 So the jailer put them into the inner dungeon and clamped their feet in the stocks.
25 Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening.
26 Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!
27 The jailer woke up to see the prison doors wide open. He assumed the prisoners had escaped, so he drew his sword to kill himself.
28 But Paul shouted to him, “Stop! Don’t kill yourself! We are all here!”
29 The jailer called for lights and ran to the dungeon and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.
30 Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
31 They replied, “Believe in The Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.”
32 And they shared The Word Of The Lord with him and with all who lived in his household (All were old enough to hear and to receive the Word of God, and to believe.).
33 Even at that hour of the night, the jailer cared for them and washed their wounds. Then he and everyone in his household were immediately baptized*.
34 He brought them into his house and set a meal before them, and he and his entire household rejoiced (Infants don't rejoice.) because they all believed (All listeners, became believers.) in God.

  • Baptized; (Greek, Baptizo), To make fully wet, wash.
Belief, precedes baptism!

Dedication to The Lord, is for infants and the very young children.
Baptism, is for young people and adults who can understand just what baptism is a symbol for, namely their dying to themselves and living new life vicariously through the power and strength of their risen Savior The Lord Jesus Christ.

Matthew 19:13-15 NLT
13 One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so He could lay His hands on them
AND BAPTIZE THEM.........
Never, Jesus Never Baptized Children! He Certainly Could Have, But He Certainly Did Not! Neither Did He Command His Disciples To Do So!!!

Dedication:
Matthew 19:13-15 NLT
13 One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so He could lay His hands on them
and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering Him.
14 But Jesus said, “Let the children come to Me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”
15 And He placed His hands on their heads and blessed them before He left.

Friends, let us follow the example of our Savior The Lord Jesus Christ.

Bible Lesson: Miracles Of The Old Testament: Axe Head Floats On The Water.

Bible Lesson: Miracles Of The Old Testament: Axe Head Floats On The Water.

Occasion: Miracle Needed-Miracle Supplied.

Location: Jordan.

Bible Text:
II Kings 6:1-7 NLT (Axe Head Floats.)
1 One day the group of prophets came to Elisha and told him, “As you can see, this place where we meet with you is too small.
2 Let’s go down to the Jordan River, where there are plenty of logs. There we can build a new place for us to meet.”
All right,” he told them, “go ahead.”
3 “Please come with us,” someone suggested. “I will,” he said.
4 So he went with them. When they arrived at the Jordan, they began cutting down trees.
5 But as one of them was cutting a tree, his axe head fell into the river. “Oh, sir!” he cried. “It was a borrowed axe!”
6 “Where did it fall?” the man of God asked. When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it into the water at that spot. Then the axe head floated to the surface.
7 “Grab it,” Elisha said. And the man reached out and grabbed it.

II Kings 6:1-2 NLT
1 One day the group of prophets came to Elisha and told him, “As you can see, this place where we meet with you is too small.
2 Let’s go down to the Jordan River, where there are plenty of logs. There we can build a new place for us to meet.”
All right,” he told them, “go ahead.”

The school of the prophets (Perhaps from Jericho.) was growing, and the room they had was no longer sufficient for the expanded group.

So they asked Elisha, if it wouldn't be a good idea, to add on to the building they had. Elisha also thought it was a good idea, and so he said yes!

Then the prophets of Jericho, had a second request....and that request was that they deeply wished Elisha to come along with them.
No, they didn't want Elisha to work on the building, they wanted him along for another reason.
The prophets wanted the man of God along, so that their work would be blessed!

II Kings 6:3 NLT
Please come with us,” someone suggested. “I will,” he said.

In America, (because that is where this Blog emanates from) men of God were once so revered, and rightly so.

It used to be that men of the cloth (clergy), were held of highest esteem of all professions (not that the ministry, is a profession).

Today, the top 10 list of professions is as follows:
  1. Fire Fighter
  2. Scientist
  3. Teacher
  4. Doctor
  5. Military Officer
  6. Nurse
  7. Police Officer
  8. Clergy
  9. Farmer
  10. Engineer
(ehow.com)

The prophets of Jericho, had faith in the man of God, Elisha, and God honored their faith, and respect for the servant of The Lord.

II Kings 6:4,5 NLT
4 So he went with them. When they arrived at the Jordan, they began cutting down trees.
5 But as one of them was cutting a tree, his ax head fell into the river. “Oh, sir!” he cried. “It was a borrowed ax!”

The Prophets were rich in the things of God, but poor in earthly wealth. The axe head, was borrowed.
An axe was not something a prophet could afford and so it was begged for and that for only a little while. No wonder the sheer horror, at seeing it fly into the muddy Jordan water!

II Kings 6:6,7 NLT
6 “Where did it fall?” the man of God asked. When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it into the water at that spot. Then the ax head floated to the surface.
7 “Grab it,” Elisha said. And the man reached out and grabbed it.

Axe heads, made of iron, do not float in the water!
For such a thing to happen, and it did, meant it going against the very “laws of nature.

But isn't that just what miracles are?

Genesis 18:10-15 KJV (The Lord speaking to Abraham. Theophany.)
10 And He (The Pre-incarnate Son Of God) said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.
11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.
12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?
13 And The Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?
14 Is any thing too hard for The Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And He said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.

Abraham was 100 years old, and his wife Sarah was 90 years old. Did they have a son? Yes, and of course they named him Isaac (laughter).

Question: Is any thing too hard for The Lord?
Answer: Of course not!

The miraculous, is only “ordinary, “ to our supernatural God!

If you can't preform miracles, than do what you can do, ….

Mark 11:22 KJV
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

Have faith in the God of miracles!

Matthew 11:2-5 KJV
2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,
3 And said unto Him, Art thou He that should come, or do we look for another?
4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:
5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

John 2:10,11 KJV
10 And saith unto Him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth His glory; and His disciples believed on Him.

John 3:2 KJV
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto Him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with Him.

John 7:31 NLT
Many among the crowds at the Temple believed in Him. “After all,” they said, “would you expect The Messiah to do more miraculous signs than this Man has done?”

John 10:25,38 KJV
25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in My Father's name, they bear witness of Me.
38 But if I do, though ye believe not Me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that The Father is in Me, and I in Him.

John 20:30,31 KJV
30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book:
31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is The Christ, The Son Of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name.

Dear friend, let's have Faith In Our Miraculous God!

Matthew 19:26 KJV
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Mark 9:23 KJV
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Mark 10:27 KJV
And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

Matthew 8:13 KJV
And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Luke 22:45,46 KJV

Gates Of Hell Shall Not Prevail

Bible Questions Answered:
“...we were discussing the verse in Matthew “I will build My church, and the forces of Hades will not overpower it.” What is the point being made here?”
Roderick/ Bonn, Germany (North Rhine-Westphalia)

Bible Answer:
Bible Text:
Matthew 16:18 KJV
“... I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The walk of a Christian is not just walk of defense, but also of offense!
What does your faith, do in offense?

Defense: The resisting (Defending an) attack, from an enemy.
Offense: The action, or actions of attacking an enemy, or enemies.

What did Jesus do?
His faith was not only in word, but also in deeds.
He not only defended the faith, by He also attacked the works of the enemy!
He cast out demons, threw money changers out of the temple, told Sadducee's, and Pharisees they were hypocrites, etc. etc.

Much of what Jesus did, was in the offense, driving out evil, and setting captives free!
And we are to follow His example!

I John 3:8 KJV (Offense)
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose The Son Of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

John 13:15 KJV
For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done..."

I Peter 2:21 KJV
"... Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps:

The Word:

Psalm 44:5 KJV (Offense)
Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.

Luke 10:19 KJV (Offense)
Behold, I give unto you power...over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Romans 8:35,37-39 KJV (Offense)
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

II Corinthians 10:4 KJV
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Jude 1:22,23 NLT (Offense)
22 And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering.
23 Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.

I John 4:4 KJV (Offense)
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

1 John 5:4,5 KJV (Offense)
4 For whatsoever is born of God over cometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5 Who is he that over cometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son Of God?

Revelation 15:2 KJV (Offense)
And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

The Apostle Paul gave the church a 7 point victory plan for success.

Ephesians 6:10-18 NLT (I Thessalonians 5:8 KJV)
10 A final word: Be strong in The Lord and in His mighty power.
11 Put on all of God’s armor (Defense) so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against
evil rulers and
authorities of the unseen world, against
mighty powers in this dark world, and against
evil spirits in the heavenly places.

13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.
14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt (Defense) of truth and the body armor (Defense) of God’s righteousness.
15 For shoes (Defense), put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.
16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield (Defense) of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.
17 Put on salvation as your helmet (Defense), and take the sword of the Spirit(Offense), which is
the word of God.
18 Pray (Offense) in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

The Apostle Paul mentions 7 items need by the Christian, 5 are for defense, and 2 are for offense!

Using The Word Of God, and Prayer, we may go against the works of the enemy!

II Corinthians 6:4,7 KJV
4 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God,in distresses..."
7 By The Word Of Truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

II Timothy 2:3,4 KJV
3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Hebrews 4:12 KJV
For The Word Of God (Sword Of The Spirit) is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Revelation 12:11 KJV
And they overcame him by The Blood Of The Lamb, and by the word of their testimony..."

Luke 10:17-20 KJV
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And He said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven

The gates (Powers) of hell shall not prevail against the church, because true Christian people defend the faith, and offensively, attack the enemy with the power of God!

Isaiah 58:6-9 KJV
6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of The Lord shall be thy reward.
9 Then shalt thou call, and The Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and He shall say, Here I am..."

Romans 13:12 KJV
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

I Timothy 6:12 KJV
Fight the good fight of faith..."

Laurel wreaths, in ancient times, (from the Laurel, a Mediterranean tree, its leaves.), were given as a crown of honor to heroes, poets, and winners in athletic contests. It was the trophy of its day.

And now the idiom "Don't rest upon your laurels."
Meaning, do not stop and simply rest upon yesterdays victories....press on!

And the Church of Jesus Christ, is "not," to be resting upon its laurels!
Now is our finest hour, defend the faith, yes, but not to over look attacking as a good soldier of Jesus Christ, the enemy, loosing the captives, driving out the enemy in Jesus name.

Our Savior promised His church ….

Hebrews 13:5 KJV
"...for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

John 14:12-14 KJV
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in The Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in My name, I will do it.

Propitiation

Bible Questions Answered:
“I need to know what propitation is.”
Glenda/ Trussville, Alabama U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Propitiation: Reconciliation between God and man.
From the Latin word propitiate, meaning “made favorable.

Homily:
If you own a car, and you drive over the speed limit, you've broken the law. The law demands that if you wish to drive again, you pay a fine.
When you pay your fine you have satisfied the law, thus you are reconciled, and you may continue to drive. Had you not reconciled, you could have been placed in jail.

Adam, broke the laws of God, when in the garden he and his wife Eve, disobeyed, sinned against God.

Genesis 3:6,7,9-12,17-19,22-24 KJV
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
9 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11 And He said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
22 And The Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23 Therefore The Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

When Adam and Eve sinned, the whole world came under the curse of sin.

I Kings 8:46 KJV
"...there is no man that sinneth not..."

Job 25:4 KJV (Bildad)
"...how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

Psalm 14:2,3 KJV
2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Psalm 51:5 KJV
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 KJV
For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

Isaiah 64:6 KJV
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Romans 3:10,23 KJV
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Galatians 3:22 KJV
But the scripture hath concluded all under sin...

I John 1:8 KJV
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and The Truth is not in us.

I John 5:19 KJV
"... the whole world lieth in wickedness.

Question: How could sinful man ever be reconciled to God, seeing how the debt was greater than he could ever pay?
Answer: Only one way, through the sacrificial gift of God's Son!

Isaiah 53:1-6 KJV (Be sure to read the whole chapter.)
1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?2 For He (God's Son)shall grow up before Him (God The Father) as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: He (Jesus Christ, God's Eternal Son) hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.
4 Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and The Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Romans 3:23-25 KJV
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation* through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

*Propitiation-Greek: Hilasterion (Hil-as-tay-ree-on): Expiatory, Atoning, propitiation.
Expiatory: Having power to atone for, "expiatory (or propitiatory) sacrifice".
Atonement: Reconciliation with God accomplished through the life, suffering, and death of Jesus Christ

Romans 6:23 KJV
For the wages of sin is death; but The Gift Of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

II Corinthians 5:18-21 NLT
18 And all of this is A Gift from God, who brought us back to Himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him.
19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And He gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.
20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making His appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”
21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

When Adam sinned, the world lost its relationship with God. Only one thing could ever pay the debt of sin, that mankind had, that debt was forever paid by the precious blood of The Lord Jesus Christ.
He is our propitiation, our means of reconciliation to God!

Ephesians 2:8,9 KJV
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is The Gift Of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Titus 3:4-7 NLT
4 But—“When God our Savior revealed His kindness and love,
5 He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through The Holy Spirit.
6 He generously poured out The Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.
7 Because of His grace He declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.”

I Peter 1:18,19 KJV
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with The Precious Blood Of Christ, as of A Lamb without blemish and without spot:

I John 2:1,2 KJV
1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with The Father, Jesus Christ The Righteous:
2 And He is the propitiation* for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

I John 4:9,10 KJV
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His Only Begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation* for our sins.

God's message of reconciliation:

John 3:15-18 KJV
15 That whosoever believeth in Him (Jesus) should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of The Only Begotten Son Of God.

Confusion

Bible Questions Answered:
“...so I'm confused and bewildered not knowing just what to do. Some of my friends, talk about God, but most don't. I'm almost afraid to mention anything god or they go ballistic on me...”
Andriy/ Kiev, Ukraine (Kyiv City)

Bible Answer:

The very first thing to remember is....

2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
3 For I am The Lord thy God, The Holy One Of Israel, thy Savior:

Isaiah 50:7 KJV
For The Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

Philippians 4:6,7 NLT
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.
7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

James 1:5,6 KJV
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering..."

James 3:16-18 KJV
16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

I Peter 4:12,13 KJV
12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of The Living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
