Prayer-Who To Pray To - 2
Bible Questions Answered:
“I not sure just who we pray to, or
does it matter?...”
John/ Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania U.S.A.
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
The example we must follow, is the
example given to us by The Lord, Himself.
Matthew 6:9 KJV
After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Jesus said we are to pray to our
heavenly Father.
The wonderful truth is that our God is
a triune God. Three distinct personalities that are “one” in
eternal unity.
Then it may be said that when we pray
to one we are praying to the others as well.
Christians, pray to The Father, in
Jesus name by the power of The Holy Spirit.
When we ask a request to The Father,
and we ask in Jesus name, our Lord says He will do it.
John 14:13,14 KJV
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in My
name, that will I do, that The Father may be glorified in The Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in My
name, I will do it.
Notice here, that when you ask The
Father for a request, Jesus says He hears, and he will
do it, so that The Father will be glorified.
So when you pray to The Father, yes we
are praying to The Lord and Holy Spirit, as well.
(Model prayers by the Apostle Paul.)
Romans 15:30 NLT
Dear brothers and sisters, I urge
you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to join in my
struggle by praying to God for me. Do this because of your
love for me, given to you by The Holy Spirit.
II
Corinthians 13:14 NLT
May the grace
of The Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of The
Holy Spirit be with you all.
Praying to
Jesus:
Acts 2:21 KJV
And it shall
come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of The Lord shall
be saved.
I Corinthians
1:2,9 KJV
2 Unto the
church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in
Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call
upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:
9 God is
faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship* of His
Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
*Fellowship-Greek:
Koinonia (Koy-nohn-ee-ah): Partnership, to communicate,
communion, fellowship.
Yes we may pray
to The Lord Jesus, but it was our Lord's desire to bring us to The
Father!
Romans 8:15
KJV
For ye have
not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have
received
The Spirit Of
Adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Galatians 4:6
KJV
And because
ye are sons, God hath sent forth The Spirit Of His Son into your
hearts, crying,
Abba, Father.
Praying To Our Heavenly Father:
John 16:23
KJV
And in
that day ye shall ask Me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto
you, Whatsoever ye shall ask
The Father in My
name, He will give it you.
What do the
words “in that day” refer to?
Jesus was
speaking of the day when He would rise up from the dead and be seated
at the right hand of The Father in heaven (John 14:1-3,12,19,20/ John
16:5,10, 16,23-27).
John 16:24-28
KJV
24 Hitherto
have ye asked nothing in My name: ask, and ye shall receive, that
your joy may be full.
25 These
things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when
I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you
plainly of The Father.
26 At that
day ye shall ask in My name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray
the Father for you:
27 For the
Father Himself loveth you, because ye have loved Me, and have
believed that I came out from God.
28 I came
forth from The Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the
world, and go to
The Father.
Dear Christian, we are to go to The Father in prayer asking our
requests in Jesus name, through the power of His Spirit.
Ephesians 5:20 NLT
And give
thanks for everything to God The Father in the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ.

Bible Lesson: Prayer's Of Jesus: “Of
Such Is The Kingdom Of Heaven.”
Location: Judaea.
Lesson: God Blesses Child Like
Humility, Innocence, And Purity.
Bible Texts:
Matthew 19:13-15 KJV
13 Then were
there brought unto Him little children, that He should put His hands
on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
14 But Jesus
said, Suffer (permit) little children, and forbid them not, to come
unto Me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
15 And He laid
His hands on them, and departed thence.
I Peter 2:1,2 NLT
1 So get rid of
all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and
all unkind speech.
2 Like newborn
babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into
a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment,
Matthew 18:1-6 KJV
1 At the same
time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in
the kingdom of heaven?
2 And Jesus
called a little child unto Him, and set him in the midst of them,
3 And said,
Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little
children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever
therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is
greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 And whoso
shall receive one such little child in My name receiveth Me.
6 But whoso
shall offend one of these little ones which believe in Me, it were
better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that
he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Psalm 8:1,2 NLT
1 O Lord, our
Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than
the heavens.
2 You have
taught children and infants to tell of your strength, silencing your
enemies and all who oppose you.
Want to know what heaven Is like?
Stare into the face of a child.
Matthew 19:13
KJV
Then were there
brought unto Him little children, that He should put His hands on
them, and pray:
and the disciples rebuked them.
Jesus heard this and put an end to their egotistical stupidity.
Matthew 19:14,15
KJV
14 But Jesus
said, Suffer (permit) little children, and forbid them not, to come
unto Me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
15 And He laid
His hands on them, and departed thence.
Matthew 20:20-28
NLT
20 Then the
mother of James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Jesus with her
sons. She knelt respectfully to ask a favor.
21 “What is
your request?” He asked. She replied, “In your Kingdom, please
let my two sons sit in places of honor next to you, one on your right
and the other on your left.”
22 But Jesus
answered by saying to them, “You don’t know what you are asking!
Are you able to drink from the bitter cup of suffering I am about to
drink?” “Oh yes,” they replied, “we are able!”
23 Jesus told
them, “You will indeed drink from My bitter cup. But I have no
right to say who will sit on My right or My left. My Father has
prepared those places for the ones He has chosen.”
24 When the ten
other disciples heard what James and John had asked, they were
indignant.
25 But Jesus
called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this
world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority
over those under them.
26 But among
you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must
be your servant,
27 and whoever wants to be first
among you must become your slave.
28 For even The
Son Of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give His
life as a ransom for many.”
Humility,
Innocence, and Purity:
Psalm 19:13,14
NLT
13 Keep your
servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I
will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin.
14 May the
words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you,
O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Psalm 24:3,4 KJV
3 Who shall
ascend into the hill of The Lord? or who shall stand in His holy
place?
4 He that hath
clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto
vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

Isaiah 57:15 KJV
For thus saith
The High And Lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy;
I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a
contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and
to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Daniel 6:22 KJV

Matthew 5:8 KJV

pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Luke 14:7-11 NLT
7 When Jesus
noticed that all who had come to the dinner were trying to sit in the
seats of honor near the head of the table, He gave them this advice:
8 “When you
are invited to a wedding feast, don’t sit in the seat of honor.
What if someone who is more distinguished than you has also been
invited?
9 The host will
come and say, ‘Give this person your seat.’ Then you will be
embarrassed, and you will have to take whatever seat is left at the
foot of the table!
10 “Instead,
take the lowest place at the foot of the table. Then when your host
sees you, he will come and say, ‘Friend, we have a better place for
you!’ Then you will be honored in front of all the other guests.
11 For those
who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves
will be exalted.”
Romans 12:3 KJV
For I say,
through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not
to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think
soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of
faith.

Wherefore,
beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may
be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
Revelation
14:1-5 NLT
1 Then I saw
The Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him were 144,000 who had
His name and His Father’s name written on their foreheads.
2 And I heard a
sound from heaven like the roar of mighty ocean waves or the rolling
of loud thunder. It was like the sound of many harpists playing
together.
3 This great
choir sang a wonderful new song in front of The Throne Of God and
before the four living beings and the twenty-four elders. No one
could learn this song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from
the earth.
4 They have
kept themselves as pure as virgins, following The Lamb wherever He
goes. They have been purchased from among the people on the earth as
a special offering to God and to The Lamb.
5 They have
told no lies; they are without blame.

Kingdom Of God/ Kingdom Of Heaven
Bible Questions Answered:
“I am having a problem with two
phrases in the bible, the kingdom of God and the kingdom of heaven.
Are these the same or different?
Bonnie/ Portland, Oregon U.S.A.
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
The Kingdom Of God. Is
Mentioned some 69 times in our New Testament. The Kingdom Of God
refers to God's presence and power entering the life of the believer.
John 3:3,5-8 NLT
3 Jesus replied, “I tell you The
Truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
5 Jesus replied, “I assure you, no
one can enter the Kingdom Of God without being born of water and
The Spirit.
6 Humans can reproduce only human
life, but The Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.
7 So don’t be surprised when I
say, ‘You must be born again.’
8 The wind blows wherever it wants.
Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or
where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of The
Spirit.”
Our Lord, of course
was referring to the entrance of The Holy Spirit, entering into the
heart of a believer.
Jesus answered the
Pharisees.
Luke 17:20 KJV
And when He was demanded of the
Pharisees, when The Kingdom Of God should come, He answered them and
said, The Kingdom Of God cometh not with observation:
Romans 14:17 NLT
(The Apostle Paul.)
For the Kingdom of God is not a
matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and
peace and joy in The Holy Spirit.
The Kingdom
Of Heaven.
The Kingdom Of
Heaven, mentioned some 32 times in our New Testament, is a Messianic phrase, referring to Christ's coming Kingdom.
Matthew 18:23
KJV
Therefore is The Kingdom Of Heaven
likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his
servants.
Matthew 25:31-46
NLT (Christ's Millennial reign.)
31 “But when The Son Of Man comes
in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit upon His
glorious throne.
32 All the nations will be gathered
in His presence, and He will separate the people as a Shepherd
separates the sheep from the goats.
33 He will place the sheep at His
right hand and the goats at His left.
34 “Then the King will say to
those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by My Father,
inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.
35 For I was hungry, and you fed Me.
I was thirsty, and you gave Me a drink. I was a stranger, and you
invited Me into your home.
36 I was naked, and you gave Me
clothing. I was sick, and you cared for Me. I was in prison, and you
visited Me.’
37 “Then these righteous ones will
reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or
thirsty and give you something to drink?
38 Or a stranger and show you
hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?
39 When did we ever see you sick or
in prison and visit you?’
40 “And The King will say, ‘I
tell you The Truth, when you did it to one of the least of these My
brothers and sisters, you were doing it to Me!’
41 “Then The King will turn to
those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into
the eternal (lake of) fire prepared for the devil and his demons.
42 For I was hungry, and you didn’t
feed Me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give Me a drink.
43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t
invite Me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give Me
clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit Me.’
44 “Then they will reply, ‘Lord,
when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or
sick or in prison, and not help you?’
45 “And He will answer, ‘I tell
you The Truth, when you refused to help the least of these My
brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help Me.’
46 “And they will go away into
eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”
I Corinthians
15:24-28 NLT
24 After that the end will come,
when He will turn The Kingdom over to God The Father, having
destroyed every ruler and authority and power.
25 For Christ must reign until He
humbles all His enemies beneath His feet.
26 And the last enemy to be
destroyed is death.
27 For the Scriptures say, “God
has put all things under His authority.” (Of course, when it says
“all things are under His authority,” that does not include God
Himself, who gave Christ His authority.)
28 Then, when all things are under
His authority, The Son will put Himself under God’s authority, so
that God, who gave His Son authority over all things, will be utterly
supreme over everything everywhere.

Names Written In Heaven
Bible Questions Answered:
“Names written in heaven who are
these?”
Alex/ Bristol, England United Kingdom
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
Luke 10:20 KJV
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not,
that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because
your names are written in heaven.
Followers of Christ, born again, believers, their names are written
in heaven.
Psalm 69:28 NLT (David)
Erase their names (the wicked) from The Book of
Life; don’t let them be counted among the
righteous.
May names
written in the book of life, be blotted out?
King David said yes!
The Lord said, yes!
Exodus 32:33 KJV
And The Lord
said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against Me, him will I blot
out of My book.
Moses said, yes!
Exodus 32:32 KJV
Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I
pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
Jesus Christ, said yes!
Revelation 3:5 KJV
He that over
cometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not
blot out his name out of The Book Of Life, but I will confess his
name before My Father, and before His angels.
Revelation 22:19 KJV
And if any
man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God
shall take away his part out of The Book Of Life, and out of the holy
city, and from the things which are written in this book.
(Once saved, always saved-are false teachings, much more could be said!)
Names written in the book of life:
* Christians (faithful).
* Those who are apart of the true church.
Hebrews 12:23 KJV
To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are
written in heaven, and to
God The Judge Of All, and to the
spirits of just men made perfect,
* Those who will be saved from
the last judgment.
Revelation 20:12-15 KJV
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the
books were opened: and another book was opened, which is The Book
Of Life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were
written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and
hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged
every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the
second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in The Book Of Life
was cast into the lake of fire.
Dear friend, is your name written in The Lord's Book Of Life?

Hebrews 10:26
Bible Questions Answered:
“Paul says that if we sin after
knowing the truth there is no pardon for sin, but what about the
grace of god?..”
Alvaro/ Granada, Spain
Bible
Answer:
Bible
Text:
Hebrews
10:26 KJV
For
if we sin willfully* after that we have
received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more
sacrifice for sins,
*Willfully-Greek:
Hekousios (Hek-oo-see-oce): Voluntarily: wilfully, willingly.
Hebrews
10:26 NLT
Dear
friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have
received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice
that will cover these sins.
Hebrews
10:26 ERV
If
we decide to continue sinning after we have learned the truth,
then there is no other sacrifice that will take away sins.
Hebrews
10:26 Mounce Reverse Interlinear New Testament
For..gar if we..hēmeis deliberately..hekousiōs persist in sin..hamartanō after..meta receiving..lambanō
the..ho knowledge..epignōsis of the..ho truth..alētheia, there is..apoleipō no longer..ouketi any..apoleipō sacrifice..thusia for..peri sins..hamartia,
The answer to this
dilemma, of willful sin versus the grace of God, hinges upon the
following.
Are all sins the
same?
Yes, all have
the same result, judgment!
We are not saying
little sins versus large sins, such is nonsense, and not found in The
Word Of God!
Sins:
Inherited:
Born under, inherited by birth.
Willful:
Deliberate sin, that is by choice.
Ignorance:
Sin done in innocence, that is, lack of knowledge or understanding of
sin.
Omission: Things
that we are called to do, that we don't do.
Besetting:
Assailing temptations. Harassing, constantly attacking temptations.
(Romans 7:14-25 NLT)
Romans
7:14-25 NLT
14
So the trouble is not with the law, for it is spiritual and good. The
trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin.
15
I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right,
but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.
16
But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree
that the law is good.
17
So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.
18
And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful
nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t.
19
I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what
is wrong, but I do it anyway.
20
But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing
wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.
21
I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do
what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong.
22
I love God’s law with all my heart.
23
But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind.
This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me.
24
Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life
that is dominated by sin and death?
25
Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it
is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my
sinful nature I am a slave to sin.
Sins:
Inherited, Willful,
Ignorance, Omission, Besetting.
Inherited Sin:
Deliberate but by Adam. Mankind is under Adam's curse of sin, and
yet, all of humanity fails as he did.
Willful Sin:
Deliberate.
Ignorance Sin:
Not Deliberate.
Omission Sin:
May Or May Not Be Deliberate.
Besetting Sin:
Not Deliberate. (Romans 7:14-25)
By
this list, we may plainly see some sins are purely by deliberate
choice, whereas others are not!
Willfully/
Willingly, same meaning:
I
Peter 2:5 NLT (Paul)
Care
for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it
willingly*, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of
it, but because you are eager to serve God.
*Willingly-Willfully-Greek:
Hekousios (Hek-oo-see-oce): Voluntarily: willfully, willingly.
(Editor's note-The
opposite of grudgingly is gleefully)
Gleefully:
Full of exultant joy; merry; delighted.
(Dictionary.Com)
Hebrews
10:26 KJV
For
if we sin willfully*
after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there
remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
If we as Christian
people, sin “gleefully,” “ after that we
have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more
sacrifice for sins,”
And why is this, the
Apostle Paul stated....
Hebrews
6:4-6 NLT
4
For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once
enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven
and shared in The Holy Spirit,
5
who have tasted the goodness of The Word Of God and The Power of the
age to come—
6
and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such
people back to repentance; by rejecting The Son Of God, they
themselves are nailing Him to the cross once again and holding Him up
to public shame.
A person who sins
(Not just one sin, but their practice-way of life) willingly/
willfully,” (gleefully) deliberately, has no desire to come to The
Lord.
All those who go to
hell, have committed the unpardonable sin.
They have willfully
and deliberately decided to crucify Christ afresh.
In others words,
they are glad to see His crucifixion, they do not want Him.
A Christian person,
who has fallen victim to besetting sins, who asks The Lord for
forgiveness and strength to do better, is not lost, but in the
grace of God!
Anyone who has
committed the unpardonable sin, has no desire to ask God for
forgiveness, for
The Holy Spirit is
“not,” living in this person.
Now the Apostle sums
up all these thoughts by saying the following:
Romans
6:1-23 KJV
1
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may
abound?
2
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer
therein?
3
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ
were baptized into His death?
4
Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as
Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of The Father, even
so we also should walk in newness of life.
5
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we
shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection:
6
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body
of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7
For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8
Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live
with Him:
9
Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death
hath no more dominion over him.
10
For in that He died, He died unto sin once: but in that He liveth, He
liveth unto God.
11
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but
alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey
it in the lusts thereof.
13
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto
sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the
dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the
law, but under grace.
15
What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under
grace? God forbid.
16
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his
servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of
obedience unto righteousness?
17
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have
obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18
Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of
righteousness.
19
I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your
flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness
and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members
servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20
For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from
righteousness.
21
What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed?
for the end of those things is death.
22
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have
your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
23
For the wages of sin is death; but The Gift Of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
