Who was it that wrote the new testament?

Writers of our New Testament:

The book of Matthew, written by disciple Matthew, the tax collector. The gospel of Matthew, written to the Jews.

The book of Mark, written by John Mark, (some think with the help of Peter.) Mark's writings were to Christians of Roman descent.

The book of Luke, and the book of Acts, were written by Luke, although not a disciple, a gentile, Greek and physician by trade he was a personal friend of the Apostle Paul.
Luke wrote to someone named Theophilus: “friend of God.”

The book of John, I, II, and III John (a letter to Gaius) and Revelation. Were written, by John a son of Zebedee (brother to James.) John wrote his gospel to the Greeks.

The Epistles, thirteen of which are attributed to the Apostle Paul, not a disciple.

Romans to Rome and the Romans.

I Corinthians, to believers.

II Corinthians to believers.

Galatians, to believers.

Ephesians to believers.

Colossians to believers. (Much similarity to the writings of Hebrews, giving some proof of Paul's authorship to the book of Hebrews.)

I Thessalonians to believers.

II Thessalonians to believers.

I Timothy, Paul's letters to individuals.

The book of James, written by James brother to Jude, and half brother to Jesus. James, was not a disciple.

The book of Hebrews, author is uncertain (some suppose it to be written by the Apostle Paul.) Hebrews was written to the Jews.

The book of I and II Peter, written by Peter.

The book of Jude, written by Jude, not a disciple, brother to James, they both half brothers to Jesus.


The above writers, with the other disciples were all martyred, with the possible exception of John, son of Zebedee.

God does not tempt individuals to sin, that is the work of the enemy.
But, God does allow our lives to be tested so that we may come forth as pure gold.

Our church instructor teaches that in genesis 11, the different languages came about by the people being scattered throughout the earth, but this doesn't seem like the way the story goes.

Your story, is an example of the cart before the horse.
And again, an example of puny man, doing his best to emasculate the power and sovereignty of Almighty God.

This story is as it stands.
Some one hundred years after the flood, Noah's descendants, had forsaken God, and instead had boasted what a great name they would make for them selves.

[4] And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

God saw their arrogance, and as a judgment, sent them “confusion of tongues.”
The work of the city and tower, ended and they fled into other lands.

And as a result of the confusion of their language, (for they all had up until this time, one language,) the place was called “Babel *.

I hear all this fuss over our new supreme court nominee, what's the big deal that people make over abortion, if she believes in that or not, so what?

Abortion is the taking of a life.
A life that Almighty God, has planned and shaped before a child's birth.

The Word of God:

I)
The Lord told Jeremiah, that He had called and ordained him to be His spokesman, before his birth!

Jeremiah 1:4-9 KJV
[4] Then the word of the LORD came unto me (Jeremiah), saying,
[5] Before I (The Lord-vs.1) formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
[6] Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
[7] But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

King Josiah was called and ordained of the Lord, over some three hundred years, before his birth!

5 At the same time a wide crack appeared in the altar, and the ashes poured out (A desecration of a heathen altar), just as the man of God had predicted in his message from the Lord.

II Kings 23:16-18 NLT (B.C. 624)
15 The king (Josiah) also tore down the altar at Bethel—the pagan shrine that Jeroboam son of Nebat had made when he caused Israel to sin. He burned down the shrine and ground it to dust, and he burned the Asherah pole.

Is a fetus a part of a woman's body, or a separate living being?
A baby is a separate living human.
A baby has it's “own,” finger prints, different than it's mothers.
A baby has it's “own,” genetic DNA code on it's chromosomes and genes, different than it's mothers.

Children are a gift from the Lord.

13 One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so He could lay His hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering Him.
14 But Jesus said, “Let the children come to Me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”

No Christian, can believe in, abortion on demand, or for the sake of convenience.
Our world, is full of adoption agencies, who have waiting lists, for children. Children, families wish so desperately to adopt.

Bible Questions Answered: Baptism-Infant

I just began going to a church that baptizes infants, is this OK, by the Bible?

Bible Answers:

Infant baptism was not found in the church until the last half of the twelfth century.

Why infant baptism? It is held by those who believe in baptismal regeneration.
That is baptism is necessary for salvation.

Such teaching is false, and certainly “not,” found in the word of God.

[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[9] Not of works (Including any and all, religious works.), lest any man should boast.

The early church, did not practice, infant baptism.
Their baptism was of adults who “confessed Christ, believers.”
Baptism is an outward confession of an inward possession, Christ.

In the Bible believing church, candidates for baptism, must give a public testimony of their faith in Christ.
Baptism is an outward confession of listening, believing in, and receiving Jesus Christ as one's Saviour.

In the Bible believing church, new borns, and little children, are dedicated to the Lord, in prayer.

The Homosexual Agenda:

The symbol, homosexuals have adopted for themselves is a rainbow, certainly not the rainbow of God, who detests evil!

This rainbow symbol, has reason behind it's design. Their flag is of a rainbow, because of it's different colors, which they translate as meaning their agenda is not only for themselves, but for others (rejected by society), as well.

Little do sleeping Christians realize what this agendum signifies.
It is the opening of an evil Pandora's Box.
Who are these others, rejected by society, that homosexuals align themselves with?

Homosexuals, want their brethren to be accepted as they should be, LGBT (or GLBT), meaning, Lesbian, Gay Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexuals.

Most Christian people have no idea what these terms mean.

Homosexuality: Involving same sex, men with men.
Lesbians: Involving same sex, women with women.
Bisexuals (Pansexual, Polysexual): Involving individuals, who experience sexual relations with a member of either sex.
Transgender (Transsexual): An individual, who believes that they are a different sex than how they were born, and may seek an operation to change the situation.
Polygamy: Having two or more spouses at the same time.
Man Boy: Men who wish boy partners.
Incest: Sexual relations between relatives (of any age).
Satanism: Sexual orgies, and hidden sacrifices.

Quite a rainbow of diversity.

All this takes dear friend, is for Christian people to sit back and to do nothing!

Christian families, “Should Not,” allow their precious children, be taught the ways and customs of homosexuals.

Alternatives are....

1) As a parent, become involved with knowing what your children are being taught and introduced to in school, help direct school policy!
2) Christian Schools.
3) Home Schooling, and more and more Christian families are doing this, every year.
4) Get involved with local legislation in your community and state.
5) If there is no other answer, move to a different locality, but by all means “protect your family, from the wiles of the devil!”

Now what should a Christian's response be to homosexuals, and their associates?

We “all,” have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
Christ died for homosexuals, for their salvation as He did for all others. It is the Christians responsibility to witness of the truth, and to warn the lost.

Plague: Anything that afflicts or troubles; calamity; scourge. Any contagious epidemic disease that is deadly. Bible, any of various calamities sent down as divine punishment.

Plagues of the Bible, speak of Divine punishment.

Can God, bring about plagues?

In the book of Exodus, we read of the ten plagues, God put upon Pharaoh and the Egyptians.
Exodus:
7:14-21 Water into blood.
8:5-6 Frogs
8:16-17 Dust to lice.
8:20-24 Flies
9:3-6 Cattle death by murrain (infectious disease.)
9:8-10 Boils on man and beast.
9:18-26 Hail storm of death, for man and beast.
10:4-15 Locusts, ruined crops, fruit, trees, etc.
10:20-23 Darkness.
12:12,29,30 Death of the 1st born, of men and animals.


Other Plagues:

And again in I Samuel 4,5, Israel lost a battle to the Philistines, and the Ark of the Covenant was taken.
Israel had made the mistake of taking the Ark into battle, as a talisman, but that was a bad idea, for that day all was lost, for some thirty thousand Israeli soldiers lay dead.

When in the possession of the Philistines, the Ark of the Covenant, brought plagues (Bubonic) to their people.
(Read the story in I Samuel chapters 4 through 6.)

I Samuel 5:11 NLT tell us that all the deadly plagues in enemy territory, was the direct result of....
“...the deadly plague from God...”

In II Samuel 24, we read of a plague set upon David.
David had sinned in numbering the people, as a consequence for his sin, God allowed him to choose his sentence.
1)Three years of famine.
2)Three months of fleeing from your enemies.
3)Three days of severe plague throughout the land.

King David, choose, three days of severe plague.
Seventy thousand of his people were killed, by plague.

Angel of the Lord sent a plague of death:

The armies of Sennacherib, had surrounded Jerusalem to over take them, but a plague of death, killed one hundred and eighty five thousand of them.

4)Swine Flue h1n1, one of the first states to notice the outbreak.
5)Total financial bankruptcy. State now issuing I.O.U's to it's workers.
6)Homosexual marriages legalized.
7)Drugs legalized (Marijuana) for the revenue from sales.
8)Early Release of prisoners, saving the state some $ 1 Billion Dollars, 27,000 eligible.

[29] And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

[3] And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
[4] Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
[5] And whoso shall receive one such little child in My name receiveth Me.
[6] But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in Me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
[7] Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
[8] Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

[13] But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
[14] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

[31] Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
[32] Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
[33] Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
[34] Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
[35] That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

[38] Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
[39] For I say unto you, Ye shall not see Me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

[3] And as He sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
[4] And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

[6] And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

[3] Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He was come from God, and went to God;

[5] After that He poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith He was girded.
[6] Then cometh He to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto Him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
[7] Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
[8] Peter saith unto Him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with Me.
[9] Simon Peter saith unto Him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
[10] Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash His feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.
[11] For He knew who should betray Him; therefore said He, Ye are not all clean.
[12] So after He had washed their feet, and had taken His garments, and was set down again, He said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?
[13] Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
[14] If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
[15] For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

[31] Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in Him.
[32] If God be glorified in Him, God shall also glorify Him in Himself, and shall straightway glorify Him.

[21] A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
[22] And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
[23] And in that day ye shall ask Me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in My name, He will give it you.
[24] Hitherto have ye asked nothing in My name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
[25] These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
[26] At that day ye shall ask in My name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
[27] For the Father Himself loveth you, because ye have loved Me, and have believed that I came out from God.
[28] I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
[29] His disciples said unto Him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
[30] Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
[31] Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
[32] Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave Me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.
[33] These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

John 17:1-26 KJV
[1] These words spake Jesus, and lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
[2] As thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given Him.
[3] And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
[4] I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest Me to do.
[5] And now, O Father, glorify thou Me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
[6] I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest Me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them Me; and they have kept thy word.
[7] Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given Me are of thee.
[8] For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send Me.
[9] I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given Me; for they are thine.
[10] And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
[11] And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given Me, that they may be one, as we are.
[12] While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest Me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
[13] And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have My joy fulfilled in themselves.
[14] I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
[15] I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
[16] They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
[17] Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
[18] As thou hast sent Me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
[19] And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
[20] Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on Me through their word;
[21] That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in Me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent Me.
[22] And the glory which thou gavest Me I have given them; that they may be one, even as We are one:
[23] I in them, and thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent Me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved Me.
[24] Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am; that they may behold My glory, which thou hast given Me: for thou lovedst Me before the foundation of the world.
[25] O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent Me.
[26] And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved Me may be in them, and I in them.
