Kindness

Kindness, is a fruit of God's Spirit.

So many say they want to be like The Lord, yet when you look for the kindness in their lives, it doesn't show very much.

This story lies in two parts,
Part I
The rich young ruler addressed Jesus as “Good Master*” -Matthew 19:16)
* Master: Greek- Didaskalos (did-as-kal-os): Instructor, doctor, teacher, master.

Jesus responded, “Why callest thou Me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: - Matthew 19:17.)
Had the young ruler thought Jesus to be God?
No, for when he responded again, he did not use the phrase.

Part II
Jesus then responded, “but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.-Matthew 19:17.)
Christ then went on to name five commandments, five through ten.
The “self-righteous,” young man boasted....
“All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? -
Matthew 19:20.)
Jesus knew the heart of the young man.

The risen Lord, had a message to believers at Smyrna, and Philadelphia, and it was, He knew who His true followers were, and who the false ones were.

The evil one, tried to divide and conquer the early church, and his mode of attack is no less than that today.

The Lord's Request:
He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto The Lord

The Lord's Promise:
and that which he hath given will He pay him again.

Talk about guaranteed interest, Our Savior promises us, that if we help the poor, He will personally repay us!
Do you have a heart that reaches out to the poor? (Give yourself a minute test: This is what I have done for the poor, in the last 6 months.... Nothing to remember? Then you know your answer.)
But this can all change with this simple prayer.

Oh Lord Of Glory, Savior, I have not had a heart that reaches out in love to the poor. Please give me a heart that will not rest, until I have helped the needy. Right in my own city, may my eyes be opened through your power.
