God's Call
Bible Questions Answered:
“I think the Lord is calling me, but
what do I do....”
Johnny/ Edmond, Oaklahoma U.S.A.
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
I Samuel 3:1-10 NLT
1 Meanwhile, the boy Samuel served
The Lord by assisting Eli. Now in those days messages from The Lord
were very rare, and visions were quite uncommon.
2 One night Eli, who was almost
blind by now, had gone to bed.
3 The lamp of God had not yet gone
out, and Samuel was sleeping in the Tabernacle near The Ark Of God.
4 Suddenly The Lord called out,
“Samuel!” “Yes?” Samuel replied. “What is it?”
5 He got up and ran to Eli. “Here
I am. Did you call me?” “I didn’t call you,” Eli replied. “Go
back to bed.” So he did.
6 Then The Lord called out again,
“Samuel!” Again Samuel got up and went to Eli. “Here I am. Did
you call me?” “I didn’t call you, my son,” Eli said. “Go
back to bed.”
7 Samuel did not yet know The Lord
because He had never had a message from The Lord before.
8 So The Lord called a third time,
and once more Samuel got up and went to Eli. “Here I am. Did you
call me?” Then Eli realized it was The Lord who was calling the
boy.
9 So he said to Samuel, “Go and
lie down again, and if someone calls again, say, ‘Speak, Lord, your
servant is listening.’” So Samuel went back to bed.
10 And The Lord came and called as
before, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel replied, “Speak, your
servant is listening.”
Hannah was a married lady, who was
barren, a disgrace for a Jewish woman.
I Samuel 1:10,11,24-28 NLT
10 Hannah was in deep anguish,
crying bitterly as she prayed to The Lord.
11 And she made this vow: “O Lord
of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my
prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will
be yours for his entire lifetime,
19...The Lord remembered her plea,
20 and in due time she gave birth to
a son. She named him Samuel, for she said, “I asked The Lord for
him.”
24 When the child was weaned, Hannah
took him to the Tabernacle in Shiloh. They brought along a
three-year-old bull for the sacrifice and a basket[j] of flour and
some wine.
25 After sacrificing the bull, they
brought the boy to Eli.
26 “Sir, do you remember me?”
Hannah asked. “I am the very woman who stood here several years ago
praying to The Lord.
27 I asked The Lord to give me this
boy, and He has granted my request.
28 Now I am giving him to The Lord,
and he will belong to The Lord his whole life.” And they worshiped
The Lord there.
As a young boy,
Samuel, was left at the temple, with the Priest Eli. One night,
Samuel heard someone call him, it was The Lord.
In this story,
notice the tender age of Israel's Prophet-Judge, he was only 12 years
old.
Can The Lord,
direct someone as young as 12 to be called of God for service, read
the story, the answer is yes!
Jeremiah 1:5 KJV
(Jeremiah)
Before I formed thee in the belly I
knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified
thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
I Timothy 4:12
KJV
Let no man despise thy youth; but be
thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in
charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Samuel, as a young
boy, was eager to do The Lord's service, and he did it faithfully.
Samuel gladly heard the voice of The Lord calling him, and he obeyed.
I Samuel 2:11,26
KJV
11 "...And the child did
minister unto The Lord before Eli the priest.
26 And the child Samuel grew on, and
was in favour both with The Lord, and also with men.
The calling of God
is this, a listening heart, to hear The Lord's still small voice, and
a never dying desire to do The Lord's work, faithful to His call and
His service.
The Calling Of
God:
Isaiah 6:8 KJV
(Isaiah)
Also I heard
the voice of The Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for
us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
Haggai 2:4 NLT
But now The Lord says: Be strong,
Zerubbabel. Be strong, Jeshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be
strong, all you people still left in the land. And now get to work,
for I am with you, says
The Lord Of Heaven’s Armies.
Matthew 21:28
KJV
But what think ye? A certain man had
two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in
my vineyard.
Mark 13:34 KJV
For The Son Of Man is as A Man
taking a far journey, who left His house, and gave authority to His
servants, and to every man His work, and commanded the porter to
watch.
Acts 26:16 NLT
(Paul's call.)
Now get to your feet! For I have
appeared to you to appoint you as My servant and witness. Tell people
that you have seen Me, and tell them what I will show you in the
future.
I Corinthians
15:58 KJV
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be
ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of
The Lord, forasmuch as ye know that
your labor is not in vain in The Lord.
Philippians 2:12
NLT
"... Work hard to show the
results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.
II Timothy 4:5
KJV
But watch thou in all things, endure
afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy
ministry.
I Peter 2:9 KJV
But ye are a chosen generation, a
royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should
shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness
into His marvelous Light;
Samuel was faithful
all his days to The Lord.
Called of The Lord,
then answer as did Samuel of old, “Speak, Lord, for your servant
hears.”

Family Of God - 2
Bible Questions Answered:
“I'm a christian, but I feel
alone...”
Ted/ Beverly Hills, California U.S.A.
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
A Christian is “never,” alone!
A Christian is apart of God's family!”
Genesis 28:15 NLT God's
promise to His people.
"...I am
with you, and I will protect you wherever you go...I will not leave
you..."
Exodus 33:14 KJV
And He said, My
presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
Deuteronomy 20:1 KJV God's promise to His people.
"... The
Lord thy God is with thee..."
Isaiah 43:1-3 KJV God's promise to His people.
1 But now thus
saith the Lord that created thee, ...and He that formed thee,...Fear
not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou
art Mine.
2 When thou
passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the
rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the
fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon
thee.
3 For I am The
Lord thy God, The Holy One Of Israel, thy Savior..."
Matthew 18:20
KJV
For where two
or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of
them.
Matthew 28:20
KJV
Teaching them
to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am
with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
John 14:16-18
KJV
16 And I will
pray The Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may
abide with you for ever;
17 Even The
Spirit Of Truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him
not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you,
and shall be in you.
18 I will not
leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Acts 6:7 NLT
So God’s
message continued to spread. The number of believers greatly
increased in Jerusalem, and many of the Jewish priests were
converted, too.
Romans 8:15 KJV
For ye have not
received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received
The Spirit Of
Adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
I Corinthians
12:12-26 KJV
12 For as the
body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one
body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
13 For by one
Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or
Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink
into one Spirit.
14 For the body
is not one member, but many.
15 If the foot
shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it
therefore not of the body?
16 And if the
ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it
therefore not of the body?
17 If the whole
body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing,
where were the smelling?
18 But now hath
God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased
Him.
19 And if they
were all one member, where were the body?
20 But now are
they many members, yet but one body.
21 And the eye
cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head
to the feet, I have no need of you.
22 Nay, much
more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are
necessary:
23 And those
members of the body, which we think to be less honorable, upon these
we bestow more abundant honor; and our uncomely parts have more
abundant comeliness.
24 For our
comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together,
having given more abundant honor to that part which lacked.
25 That there
should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the
same care one for another.
26 And whether
one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be
honored, all the members rejoice with it.
II Corinthians
6:14-18 KJV
16 "...ye
are the temple of The Living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in
them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My
people.
17 Wherefore
come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith The Lord, and
touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be
A Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith The
Lord Almighty.
Galatians 3:26
NLT
For you are all
children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 4:6,7
NLT
6 And because
we are His children, God has sent The Spirit Of His Son into our
hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.”
7 Now you are
no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are His child,
God has made you His heir.
Galatians 6:10
KJV
As we have
therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto
them who are of the household of faith.
Ephesians
2:4-6,19-22 NLT
4 But God is so
rich in mercy, and He loved us so much,
5 that even
though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He
raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you
have been saved!)
6 For He raised
us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the
heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.
19 So now you
Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens
along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s
family.
20 Together, we
are His house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the
prophets. And the Cornerstone is Christ Jesus Himself.
21 We are
carefully joined together in Him, becoming a holy temple for The
Lord.
22 Through Him
you Gentiles are also being made part of this dwelling where God
lives by His Spirit.
Ephesians
3:14,15 KJV
14 For this
cause I bow my knees unto The Father Of Our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the
whole family in heaven and earth is named,
Ephesians 4:16
NLT
He makes the
whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special
work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is
healthy and growing and full of love.
I Timothy 3:15
NLT
"...the
household of God. This is the church of The Living God, which is the
pillar and foundation of the Truth.
Dear Christian, feeling alone, in a dark stormy world, hear again our
Savior's voice.
Matthew 14:27
KJV
But straightway
Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not
afraid.
John 16:33 KJV
These things I
have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye
shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the
world.
Ephesians 4:1 NLT Apostle Paul
Therefore I, a
prisoner for serving The Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your
calling, for you have been called by God.

Bible Lesson: Intercessory Prayer: Peter Prays For The Restoration Of Dorcas.
Bible Lesson: Intercessory Prayer:
Peter Prays For The Restoration Of Dorcas.
Bible Text:
Acts 9:36-42 NLT
36 There was a believer (a certain
disciple KJV) in Joppa
named Tabitha (which in Greek is Dorcas. She was always doing kind
things for others and helping the poor.
37 About this time she became ill
and died. Her body was washed for burial and laid in an upstairs
room.
38 But the believers had heard that
Peter was nearby at Lydda, so they sent two men to beg him, “Please
come as soon as possible!”
39 So Peter returned with them; and
as soon as he arrived, they took him to the upstairs room. The room
was filled with widows who were weeping and showing him the coats and
other clothes Dorcas had made for them.
40 But Peter asked them all to leave
the room; then he knelt and prayed. Turning to the body he said, “Get
up, Tabitha.” And she opened her eyes! When she saw Peter, she sat
up!
41 He gave her his hand and helped
her up. Then he called in the widows and all the believers, and he
presented her to them alive.
42 The news spread through the whole
town, and many believed in The Lord.
Why do bad things
happen to good people?
In this world, we
will not know very often, but God is in control, and has His reasons.
In this case, can
there be any doubt that her resurrection was to bring many sons to
glory, for “many believed in The Lord.”
Now some poor
disbelieving soul may lament, “Oh she was not really dead....”
But “she became
ill and died. Her body was washed for burial and laid in an upstairs
room.”
So for some hours
they wept, for Tabitha had died and was stiff.
Rigor mortis
(Latin: rigor "stiffness", mortis "of death") is
one of the recognizable signs of death, caused by chemical changes in
the muscles after death, causing the limbs of the corpse to stiffen.
Rigor mortis occurs three to four hours after death.
(Wikipedia)
38 “.. the
believers had heard that Peter was nearby at Lydda, so they sent two
men to beg him, “Please come as soon as possible!”.
Distance between
Lydda and Joppa, some 15 miles, and would have taken the messengers 3
hours, and Peter another 3 hours.
Was Tabitha dead?
Yes.
Acts 9:39 NLT
So Peter returned with them; and as
soon as he arrived, they took him to the upstairs room. The room was
filled with widows who were weeping and showing him the coats and
other clothes Dorcas had made for them.
Read this verse
several times and see what it tells you. (Dearly beloved, who pray
for this old Pastor, thank you for doing this.)
Well, what did you
see?
Hebrews 9:27 KJV
And as it is appointed unto men once
to die, but after this the judgment:
We are “not,”
saved by works, be they religious works for secular, but that
does not mean that the life of the Christian is not to be filled with
Godly works, bringing God glory!
Ephesians 2:8,9
KJV
8 For by grace are ye saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves: it is The Gift Of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should
boast.
Matthew 5:14-16
KJV
14 Ye are the light of the world. A
city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle,
and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light
unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before
men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father
which is in heaven.
Hebrews 9:27 KJV
And as it is appointed unto men once
to die...”
Unless The
Bridegroom, comes for His bride,...we have an appointed time for
death.
And when that time
comes, what if anything, what legacy, what gift to humanity, will we
have leave behind?
Tabitha, had left
behind, gift after countless gifts of hours of her loving, Godly work
for others, and it was not forgotten.
Mark 9:41 KJV
For whosoever shall give you a cup
of water to drink in My name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I
say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
Revelation 14:13
KJV
And I heard a voice from heaven
saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in The Lord
from henceforth: Yea, saith The Spirit, that they may rest from their
labors; and their works do follow them.
40
“...Peter asked them all to leave the room; then he knelt and
prayed....”
This is why the
Apostle Paul told us.....
Hebrews 10:25
NLT
And let us not neglect our meeting
together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially
now that the day of His return is drawing near.
We, need each
other, we together, not apart, are the body of Christ.
The day will come,
when you will need the prayers of someone for yourself, or for others.
Those Godly,
praying people, we meet and know in the church of Jesus Christ.
Acts 9:40-42 NLT
“...Turning to
the body he said, “Get up, Tabitha.” And she opened her eyes!
When she saw Peter, she sat up!
41 He gave her his hand and helped
her up. Then he called in the widows and all the believers, and he
presented her to them alive.
42 The news spread through the whole
town, and many believed in The Lord.
Peter prayed, and
the resurrection power of Christ, raised Dorcas to newness of life.
And why did He do so? Can there be any doubt that He did so, so that
she could continue her Godly works of caring for others!
Will The Living God
hear your intercession for others? He will if you are His
child!

The Story of Manna:
Exodus 16:1-36 NLT (Manna and Quail from Heaven)
1 Then the whole community of Israel set out from Elim and journeyed into the wilderness of Sin, between Elim and Mount Sinai. They arrived there on the fifteenth day of the second month, one month after leaving the land of Egypt.
2 There, too, the whole community of Israel complained about Moses and Aaron.
3 “If only The Lord had killed us back in Egypt,” they moaned. “There we sat around pots filled with meat and ate all the bread we wanted. But now you have brought us into this wilderness to starve us all to death.”
4 Then The Lord said to Moses, “Look, I’m going to rain down food from heaven for you. Each day the people can go out and pick up as much food as they need for that day. I will test them in this to see whether or not they will follow My instructions.
5 On the sixth day they will gather food, and when they prepare it, there will be twice as much as usual.”
6 So Moses and Aaron said to all the people of Israel, “By evening you will realize it was The Lord who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
7 In the morning you will see the glory of The Lord, because He has heard your complaints, which are against Him, not against us. What have we done that you should complain about us?”
8 Then Moses added, “The Lord will give you meat to eat in the evening and bread to satisfy you in the morning, for He has heard all your complaints against Him. What have we done? Yes, your complaints are against The Lord, not against us.”
9 Then Moses said to Aaron, “Announce this to the entire community of Israel: ‘Present yourselves before The Lord, for He has heard your complaining.’”
10 And as Aaron spoke to the whole community of Israel, they looked out toward the wilderness. There they could see the awesome glory of The Lord in the cloud.
11 Then The Lord said to Moses,
12 “I have heard the Israelites’ complaints. Now tell them, ‘In the evening you will have meat to eat, and in the morning you will have all the bread you want. Then you will know that I am The Lord your God.’”
13 That evening vast numbers of quail flew in and covered the camp. And the next morning the area around the camp was wet with dew.
14 When the dew evaporated, a flaky substance as fine as frost blanketed the ground.
15 The Israelites were puzzled when they saw it. “What is it?” they asked each other. They had no idea what it was. And Moses told them, “It is the food The Lord has given you to eat.
16 These are The Lord’s instructions: Each household should gather as much as it needs. Pick up two quarts for each person in your tent.”
17 So the people of Israel did as they were told. Some gathered a lot, some only a little.
18 But when they measured it out, everyone had just enough. Those who gathered a lot had nothing left over, and those who gathered only a little had enough. Each family had just what it needed.
19 Then Moses told them, “Do not keep any of it until morning.”
20 But some of them didn’t listen and kept some of it until morning. But by then it was full of maggots and had a terrible smell. Moses was very angry with them.
21 After this the people gathered the food morning by morning, each family according to its need. And as the sun became hot, the flakes they had not picked up melted and disappeared.
22 On the sixth day, they gathered twice as much as usual—four quarts for each person instead of two. Then all the leaders of the community came and asked Moses for an explanation.
23 He told them, “This is what The Lord commanded: Tomorrow will be a day of complete rest, a holy Sabbath day set apart for The Lord. So bake or boil as much as you want today, and set aside what is left for tomorrow.”
24 So they put some aside until morning, just as Moses had commanded. And in the morning the leftover food was wholesome and good, without maggots or odor.
25 Moses said, “Eat this food today, for today is a Sabbath day dedicated to The Lord. There will be no food on the ground today.
26 You may gather the food for six days, but the seventh day is the Sabbath. There will be no food on the ground that day.”
27 Some of the people went out anyway on the seventh day, but they found no food.
28 The Lord asked Moses, “How long will these people refuse to obey My commands and instructions?
29 They must realize that the Sabbath is The Lord’s gift to you. That is why He gives you a two-day supply on the sixth day, so there will be enough for two days. On the Sabbath day you must each stay in your place. Do not go out to pick up food on the seventh day.”
30 So the people did not gather any food on the seventh day.
31 The Israelites called the food manna. It was white like coriander seed, and it tasted like honey wafers.
(Manna: Coriander seed, small round kernels, yellowish green or white in color. The seed could be ground at a mill, or mortar, and baked, boiled or cooked, and made into bread.)
Numbers 11:7-9 KJV
7 The manna looked like small coriander seeds, and it was pale yellow like gum resin.
8 The people would go out and gather it from the ground. They made flour by grinding it with hand mills or pounding it in mortars. Then they boiled it in a pot and made it into flat cakes. These cakes tasted like pastries baked with olive oil.
9 The manna came down on the camp with the dew during the night.
Psalm 105:40 KJV
The people asked, and He brought quails, and satisfied them with (Miraculous)
The Bread Of Heaven.
32 Then Moses said, “This is what The Lord has commanded: Fill a two-quart container with manna to preserve it for your descendants. Then later generations will be able to see the food I gave you in the wilderness when I set you free from Egypt.”
33 Moses said to Aaron, “Get a jar and fill it with two quarts of manna. Then put it in a sacred place before The Lord to preserve it for all future generations.”
34 Aaron did just as The Lord had commanded Moses. He eventually placed it in the Ark Of The Covenant—in front of the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant.
35 So the people of Israel ate manna for forty years until they arrived at the land where they would settle. They ate manna until they came to the border of the land of Canaan.
36 The container used to measure the manna was an omer, which was one-tenth of an ephah; it held about two quarts.
Deuteronomy 8:3,16 NLT
3 Yes, He humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every Word that comes from the mouth of The Lord.
16 He fed you with manna in the wilderness, a food unknown to your ancestors. He did this to humble you and test you for your own good.
Psalm 78:22-29 NLT (Be sure to read the whole chapter.)
22 for they did not believe God or trust Him to care for them.
23 But He commanded the skies to open; He opened the doors of heaven.
24 He rained down manna for them to eat; He gave them Bread From Heaven.
25 They ate the food of angels! God gave them all they could hold.
26 He released the east wind in the heavens and guided the south wind by His mighty power.
27 He rained down meat as thick as dust— birds as plentiful as the sand on the seashore!
28 He caused the birds to fall within their camp and all around their tents.
29 The people ate their fill. He gave them what they craved.
From Elim to the entrance to Canaan, the Israelites ate manna.
Manna, The Bread Of Heaven, was The Gift Of God, to His people.
Manna, prefigured The True Bread From Heaven, The Lord Jesus Christ.
I Corinthians 10:1-4 NLT
1 I don’t want you to forget, dear brothers and sisters, about our ancestors in the wilderness long ago. All of them were guided by a cloud that moved ahead of them, and all of them walked through the sea on dry ground.
2 In the cloud and in the sea, all of them were baptized as followers of Moses.
3 All of them ate the same spiritual food,
4 and all of them drank the same spiritual water. For they drank from The Spiritual Rock that traveled with them, and that Rock was Christ.
John 6:31-41,47,48 KJV
31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them Bread From Heaven to eat.
32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that
Bread From Heaven; but My Father giveth you The True Bread From Heaven.
33 For The Bread Of God is He which cometh down from heaven, and giveth Life unto the world.
34 Then said they unto Him, Lord, evermore give us this Bread.
35 And Jesus said unto them, I am The Bread Of Life: he that cometh to Me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst.
36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen Me, and believe not.
37 All that The Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do Mine own will, but the will of Him that sent Me.
39 And this is The Father's will which hath sent Me, that of all which He hath given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
40 And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth The Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
41 The Jews then murmured at Him, because He said, I am
The Bread Which Came Down From Heaven.
47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life.
48 I am that Bread Of Life.
Our God, provides for His people. The bread we eat today, nourishes our body from day to day, but The Bread our God gives, leads to “everlasting life,” and Jesus is that Bread From Heaven.
Matthew 6:33,34 NLT
33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.
34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
Revelation 2:17 KJV
He that hath an ear, let him hear what The Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that over cometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Ephesians

11 Don’t
forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders. You were called
“uncircumcised heathens” by the Jews, who were proud of their
circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their
hearts.
12 In those
days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from
citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the
covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world
without God and without hope.
13 But now you
have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God,
but now you have been brought near to Him through The Blood Of
Christ.
14 For Christ
Himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles
into one people when, in His own body on the cross, He broke down the
wall of hostility that separated us.
15 He did this
by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He
made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in Himself
one new people from the two groups.
16 Together as
one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of His death
on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.
17 He brought
this Good News of peace to you Gentiles who were far away from
Him, and peace to the Jews who were near.
18 Now all of
us can come to The Father through the same Holy Spirit because of
what Christ has done for us.
19 So now you
Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens
along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s
family.
20 Together, we
are His house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the
prophets. And the Cornerstone is Christ Jesus Himself.
21 We are
carefully joined together in Him, becoming a holy temple for The
Lord.

you Gentiles are also being made part of this dwelling where God
lives by His Spirit.

Bible Lesson: Intercessory Prayer:
Habakkuk Prays For The
Restoration And Deliverance Of God's People.
Bible Text:
Habakkuk 3:1-19 NLT
1 This prayer
was sung by the prophet Habakkuk:
2 I have heard
all about you, Lord. I am filled with awe by your amazing works.
In this time of our deep need, help us again as you did in years gone
by.
And in your
anger, remember your mercy.
2 O Lord, I
have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O Lord, revive thy work
in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in
wrath remember mercy.(KJV)
3 I see God
moving across the deserts from Edom, The Holy One coming from Mount
Paran. His brilliant splendor fills the heavens, and the earth is
filled with His praise. (Deuteronomy

4 His coming is
as brilliant as the sunrise. Rays of light flash from His hands,
where His awesome power is hidden.
5 Pestilence
marches before Him; plague follows close behind.
6 When He
stops, the earth shakes. When He looks, the nations tremble.
He shatters the everlasting mountains and levels the eternal hills.
He is The Eternal One!
7 I see the
people of Cushan in distress, and the nation of Midian trembling in
terror.
8 Was it in
anger, Lord, that you struck the rivers and parted the sea? Were you
displeased with them No, you were sending your chariots of salvation!
9 You
brandished your bow and your quiver of arrows. You split open the
earth with flowing rivers.
10 The
mountains watched and trembled. Onward swept the raging waters. The
mighty deep cried out, lifting its hands in submission.
11 The sun and
moon stood still in the sky as your brilliant arrows flew and your
glittering spear flashed.
12 You marched
across the land in anger and trampled the nations in your fury.
13 You went out
to rescue your chosen people, to save your anointed ones. You crushed
the heads of the wicked and stripped their bones from head to toe.
14 With his own
weapons you destroyed the chief of those who rushed out like a
whirlwind, thinking Israel would be easy prey.
15 You trampled
the sea with your horses, and the mighty waters piled high.
16 I trembled
inside when I heard this; my lips quivered with fear. My legs gave
way beneath me, and I shook in terror. I will wait quietly for the
coming day when disaster will strike the people who invade us.
17 Even though
the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines;
even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and
barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle
barns are empty,
18 yet I will
rejoice in The Lord! I will be joyful in The God Of My Salvation!
19 The
Sovereign Lord is my Strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer,
able to tread upon the heights.
(For the choir
director: This prayer is to be accompanied by stringed instruments.)
Habakkuk 1:2 NLT
“...In
this time of our deep need, help us again as you did in years gone
by.
Habakkuk 1:2 KJV
“... O
Lord, revive thy work...”
Habakkuk, pleaded to The Lord, for His help, “...in wrath
remember mercy.”
The people of God, had lost the close relationship they once had with
The Lord.
The answer to their
dilemma, was not only safety from the oppressive Chaldeans, but
renewal, a revival of the relationship they once enjoyed with The
Lord who loved, and cared for them.
Habakkuk recalled
former deliverances, while remembering The Lord's divine mercy upon
His people.
There were things
which he could not understand, but one thing was certain, Habakkuk,
trusted in God.
Psalm 73:1-28
KJV (A psalm of Asaph.)
1 Truly God is good to Israel,
even to such as are of a clean heart.
2 But as for me, my feet were almost
gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
3 For I was envious at the foolish,
when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 For there are no bands in their
death: but their strength is firm.
5 They are not in trouble as other
men; neither are they plagued like other men.
6 Therefore pride compasseth them
about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.
7 Their eyes stand out with fatness:
they have more than heart could wish.
8 They are corrupt, and speak
wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.
9 They set their mouth against the
heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
10 Therefore his people return
hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.
11 And they say, How doth God know?
and is there knowledge in the most High?
12 Behold, these are the ungodly,
who prosper in the world; they increase in riches (Habakkuk
could certainly thought all this of Babylon).
13 Verily I have cleansed my heart
in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.
14 For all the day long have I been
plagued, and chastened every morning.
15 If I say, I will speak thus;
behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.
16 When I thought to know this, it
was too painful for me;
17 Until I went into the
sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.
18 Surely thou didst set them in
slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.
19 How are they brought into
desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
20 As a dream when one awaketh; so,
O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.
21 Thus my heart was grieved, and I
was pricked in my reins.
22 So foolish was I, and ignorant: I
was as a beast before thee.
23 Nevertheless I am continually
with thee: thou hast holden (held) me by my right hand.
24 Thou shalt guide me with thy
counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven but thee?
and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
26 My flesh and my heart faileth:
but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
27 For, lo, they that are far from
thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring
from thee.
28 But it is good for me to draw
near to God: I have put my trust in The Lord God, that I may declare
all thy works.
Psalm 3:1-8 KJV
(David's psalm, when he fled from his son Absalom. II Samuel 15)
1 Lord, how are they increased that
trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
2 Many there be which say of my
soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for
me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
4 I cried unto The Lord with my
voice, and He heard me out of His holy hill. Selah.
5 I laid me down and slept; I
awaked; for The Lord sustained me.
6 I will not be afraid of ten
thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
7 Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God:
for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast
broken the teeth of the ungodly.
8 Salvation belongeth unto The Lord:
thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
Did God hear
Habakkuk's prayer, and was He faithful to His people, yes!
And God's people
today?
Joel 2:12-17 KJV
12 Therefore also now, saith The
Lord, turn ye even to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and
with weeping, and with mourning:
13 And rend your heart, and not your
garments, and turn unto The Lord your God: for He is gracious and
merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth Him of
the evil.
14 Who knoweth if He will return and
repent, and leave a blessing behind Him; even a meat offering and a
drink offering unto The Lord your God?
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion,
sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
16 Gather the people, sanctify the
congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those
that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber,
and the bride out of her closet.
17 Let the priests, the ministers of
The Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say,
Spare thy people, O Lord..."
