Bible Questions Answered:
“Why wouldn't Jesus give the pharisees a sign?...”
Jeremy/ Pahrump, Nevada U.S.A.
Mark 8:11-13 NLT
11 When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had arrived, they came and started to argue with Him. Testing Him, they demanded that He show them a miraculous sign from heaven to prove His authority.
12 When He heard this, He sighed deeply in His Spirit and said, “Why do these people keep demanding a miraculous sign? I tell you The Truth, I will not give this generation any such sign.”
13 So He got back into the boat and left them, and He crossed to the other side of the lake.
Why didn't Jesus show the Pharisees a miraculous sign from heaven, because they didn't believe the miraculous signs that He had shown them, and they wouldn't believe any other signs, due to the hardness of their hearts. When a person in their heart has determined not to believe, what could possibly convince them, to believe!
Mark 3:5 KJV
And when He had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, He saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

5 But Jesus responded, “He wrote this commandment only as a concession to your hard hearts.

22 Then He told John’s disciples, “Go back to John and tell him what you have seen and heard—the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor.
23 And tell him, ‘God blesses those who do not turn away because of Me.

1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto Him, Rabbi, we know that thou art A Teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with Him.
And another reason, why Jesus would not perform a miraculous sign from heaven for the Pharisees, was...Jesus did not, do the works of God, for show.

13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto The Lamb for ever and ever.

41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
