Bible Lesson: Miracles Of Jesus-Draught Of Fishes

Bible Lesson: Miracles Of Jesus - Draught Of Fishes.

Location: Sea of Galilee.

Text: Luke 5:1-11 KJV
[1] And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon Him to hear the word of God, He stood by the lake of Gennesaret,
[2] And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
[3] And He entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed Him that He would thrust out a little from the land.
And He sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.
[4] Now when He had left speaking, He said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
[5] And Simon answering said unto Him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
[6] And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
[7] And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came,
and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.
[8] When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
[9] For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:
[10] And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.
[11] And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed Him.

Luke 5:3 KJV
“...And He sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.”

Jesus was always ready to preach the Gospel, and we as His followers are to be eager to do the same.

Matthew 10:7,27 KJV
[7] And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
[27] What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

Mark 16:15 KJV
And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Luke 9:2,60 KJV
[2] And He sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
[60] ... go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

Acts 5:20 KJV
Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

II Timothy 4:2 KJV
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

Luke 5:4,5 KJV
[4] Now when He had left speaking, He said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
[5] And Simon answering said unto Him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

This verse of course speaks volumes of “trusting the Lord.”
Many times our God's promises are a completely antithetical to the facts as we know them.
“The doctors say it's cancer,” and yet we hear our God say, “I will never leave nor for sake thee.”
“Your account is over drawn, and the bills are due,” and yet the promise, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace , whose mind is stayed on thee...”

Psalm 56:3 KJV
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

Psalm 57:1 KJV
Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

Isaiah 12:2 KJV
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation.

I Timothy 4:10 KJV
For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God,
who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

II Timothy 1:12 KJV
For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day.

How can we find this place of perfect trust, and perfect peace?
We must “launch out into the deep.”
We must draw close to the God of the universe, with whom, nothing is impossible.

Psalm 73:28 KJV
But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.

James 4:6-10 KJV
[6] But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
[7] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
[8] Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
[9] Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
[10] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.

Luke 5:5-7 KJV
[5] And Simon answering said unto Him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
[6] And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
[7] And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

Our Living God, knows how to reward His trusting child.
Peter could not believe his eyes, no doubt he thought, “how could it be?” And yet there it was his net tearing under the load of so many fishes, enough to fill both boats, so much so that they began to sink.

Hebrews 11:6 KJV (Read the whole chapter.)
But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

"A Rewarder" of them that diligently seek Him," this day Peter never forgot, that trusting Christ, was trusting the very God of the universe.

Genesis 18:14 KJV (Abraham 100, Sarah 90)
Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee,
according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

Job 42:2 KJV
I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be with holden from thee.

Psalm 115:3 KJV
But our God is in the heavens: He hath done whatsoever He hath pleased.

Isaiah 43:13 NLT
“From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of My hand. No one can undo what I have done.”

Matthew 19:26 KJV
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Luke 1:37 KJV
For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Luke 5:8-11 KJV
[8] When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
[9] For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:
[10] And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.
[11] And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed Him.

When we with sincerity of heart, “Launch out into the deep,” with Jesus, and catch a glimpse of His greatness, we will never be the same again.

Peter, Andrew, James, and John, now had a new calling, as they forsook all to follow Christ, they were fisher's of men. The instrument of their trade, now would be the gospel net, and their harvest, that of human souls for the Kingdom of God.

Dear friend, have you had an encounter with the God of the universe?
He loves you and wants you to work for Him in His field, the world!

Give your life to Him, in dedicated service, and eternity will one day reveal, the great bounty gleaned for the kingdom of heaven.

Bible Questions Answered: Confession Of Sin

Bible Questions Answered:
They say we have to confess all our sins or we won't be forgiven, but I can't remember them all, then what?
Mark/ Pikeville, Kentucky

Bible Answer:

When we have committed a sin, one that the Holy Spirit has convicted us of, we are to confess that sin, and to abandon it.

Proverbs 28:13 KJV
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

I John 1:9 KJV
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

This is the Christian's responsibility before the Lord, but you say, you know that you have sinned surely in many ways, and you cannot remember them.

All sins fall under three categories.

Conscious sins:
You knowingly choose to do something morally wrong.

Omission, sins of:
You knew that you should have been a witness, but you said nothing.

Innocence, sins of:
Things that you do every day that are offensive to God, that you aren't even aware of.

As one can see by these categories, there will always be sins committed by man, that he is unaware of.
Things that are an offense to God. We are to strive for sanctification in this life, but we will only fully achieve it, when we are with the Lord!

I John 3:2 KJV
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be:
but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.

So, we can see that confessing “all,” our sins is impossible!

We are saved, by the blood of Christ and nothing else.

Romans 3:25 NLT
"For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when
they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood...."

Romans 5:9 KJV
Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

I Peter 1:18,19 KJV
[18] Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your
vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
[19] But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot:

I John 1:7 KJV
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Revelation 1:5 KJV
And from Jesus Christ, who is the Faithful Witness, and the First Begotten of the dead, and the Prince of the kings of the earth.
Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

We are not “saved,” by “Perfect-Confession,” but by the precious blood of Christ.

Ephesians 2:8,9 KJV
[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[9] Not of works (Spiritual or otherwise), lest any man should boast.

Matthew 26:28 KJV
For this is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

I John 4:10 NLT
This is real love—not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

When we with all sincerity, ask the Lord to forgive us our sins, He does, and He does because....

I Samuel 16:7 KJV
But the Lord said unto Samuel,...for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

Bible Questions Answered: Pentecost-Birth Of The Church

Bible Questions Answered:
When did the apostles start the church?
Fiyifolu/ Abuja, Nigeria

Bible Answers:

No, the church of Jesus Christ was “Not,” started by mortal man!

Genesis 2:20-24 KJV
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam
there was not found an help meet for him.
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and He took one of his ribs,
and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

This scripture, depicts the first marriage, it was performed by Almighty God, and it was a holy marriage. It was the marriage of the “first,” Adam, and his wife-who came out of Adam, Eve.
(Much, much more could be said and will be, Lord willing in some up coming ebooks.)

In such a manner the “wife,” of the Second Adam, who is the blessed Lord Jesus Christ, also is of a Divine Creation, and that, again, by the hand of Almighty God.

When did the people of God, become a Church, and what happened to make them such.

The answer is found in …..

Acts 2:1-47 KJV
[1] And when the day of Pentecost* was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
[2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
[3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
[4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
[5] And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
[6] Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them
speak in his own language.
[7] And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
[8] And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
[9] Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
[10] Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
[11] Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
[12] And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
[13] Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
[14] But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that
dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
[15] For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
[16] But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
[17] And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God,I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons
and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
[18] And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of My Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
[19] And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
[20] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
[21] And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
[22] Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a Man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs,
which God did by Him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
[23] Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
[24] Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that He should be holden of it.
[25] For David speaketh concerning Him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for He is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:
[26] Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
[27] Because thou wilt not leave My soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
[28] Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
[29] Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre
is with us unto this day.
[30] Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according
to the flesh, He would raise up Christ to sit on His throne;
[31] He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that His soul was not left in hell, neither His flesh did see corruption.
[32] This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
[33] Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, He hath shed
forth this, which ye now see and hear.
[34] For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on My right hand,
[35] Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
[36] Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both
Lord and Christ.
[37] Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren,
what shall we do?
[38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye
shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
[39] For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
[40] And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
[41] Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
[42] And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
[43] And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
[44] And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
[45] And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
[46] And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat
with gladness and singleness of heart,
[47] Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Pentecost:
In the Old Testament, so called, “Feast of the Harvest,” and “The First Fruits of Thy Labors, Which Thou Sowest in the Field,” and also “feast of weeks.

Exodus 23:16 KJV
And the feast of harvest*, the first fruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field:
and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy
labours out of the field.

Exodus 34:22 KJV
And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the first fruits of wheat harvest*,
and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.

*Harvest-Hebrew-Qatsiyr (Kaw-tseer): Harvest (as reaped), the crop, the time, the reaper.

From the planting of the field, to the harvesting were fifty days.

Deuteronomy 16:9 KJV
Seven weeks shalt thou number unto thee: begin to number the seven weeks from such time as thou beginnest to put the sickle to the corn.

Acts 2:1 KJV
And when the day of Pentecost* was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

*Pentecost-Greek-Pentekoste (Pen-tay-kos-tay): Fifty-The festival of Pentecost.

The Feast of Pentecost, or of Harvest, was a celebration of worship by God's people, for the abundant crops they had received.

They took the grain and waved it before the Lord in worship and thanksgiving, for His generous provision.
With many offerings they worshiped the Lord. They also offered up themselves as an offering to God.

None of the harvest could be used as food, until this offering was made to God.

On Pentecost after our Lord's death, He had told His followers....

Acts 1:1-5 KJV
1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
2 Until the day in which He was taken up, after that He through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom He had chosen:
3 To whom also He shewed Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith He, ye have heard of Me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Our Lord's ascension into Heaven, came after forty days, of showing Himself alive to His people.
Then they were to wait at Jerusalem for the promise of the Father.

Because Pentecost is fifty days, some 120 of them, fasted and prayed in the upper room, for some ten days, waiting for the heavenly promise.

The disciples were there, Mary was there, and many others.

At the end of 120 days of offering themselves up to the Lord in prayer....The Holy Spirit came and baptized them all, and they began to speak in different languages, saying wonderful things about God, and what He had done!

Acts 2:11 “... we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.”

Eighteen different sects of people crowed into Jerusalem for the Feast, had heard, the 120 glorifying God, in their own language.

Only the God of Babel, could do such a thing, and certainly these weren't tongues of confusion or disorder in any stretch of the imagination!
Not when each sect of people, heard praise and honor to the Almighty living God, in his and her own language, from lowly Galilaeans.

This indeed was a special day, this promise of the Father, this was the birth of the church (the wife) of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I Corinthians 12:13 KJV
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles,
whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Just as Eve, had been taken from the side of her husband Adam, the church, was born from the bloody side of the Second Adam, Christ.

Ephesians 5:30 KJV
For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones.

Romans 12:5 KJV
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

I Corinthians 12:27 KJV
Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

Ephesians 1:22,23 KJV
22 And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is His body, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all.

Ephesians 4:12 KJV
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Colossians 1:24 KJV
Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions
of Christ in my flesh for His body's sake, which is the church:

Colossians 2:19 NLT
"...Christ, the head of the body. For He holds the whole body together with its joints and ligaments, and it grows as God nourishes it.

Isaiah 62:5 KJV
For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

II Corinthians 11:2 KJV
For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one Husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

Revelation 19:7 KJV
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready.

Revelation 21:2 KJV
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her Husband.

Revelation 22:17 KJV
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Thus was the beginning of the Church, the bride of Christ.
We live yet in the day of grace the church age.

Any moment the Church Age could end, for it ends with the secret return of Christ for His church, His Bride. He does not come to earth, but meets her in the air.

I Thessalonians 4:13-18 NLT
13 And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will
not grieve like people who have no hope.
14 For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns,
God will bring back with Him the believers who have died.
15 We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet Him ahead of
those who have died.
16 For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel,
and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves.
17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds
to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.
18 So encourage each other with these words.

I Corinthians 15:51-58 KJV
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be
raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall
be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

II Corinthians 6:2 KJV
(For He saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Ephesians 2:14-18 KJV
14 For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in His own body on the cross, He broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.
15 He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in Himself one new people from the two groups.
16 Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of His death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.
17 He brought this Good News of peace to you Gentiles who were far away from Him, and peace to the Jews who were near.
18 Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us.

II Peter 3:9 KJV
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Dear friend, have you come to the Lord?
Do you know Him, as Saviour?

Revelation 3:20 KJV
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door,
I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.

Bible Questions Answered: Truth-Unable To Come To

Bible Questions Answered:
Why can't the people of II Timothy 3, learn the truth?
Jody/ Pensacola, Florida

Bible Answer:

Text:
II Timothy 3:6-9 KJV
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.

II Timothy 3:6-9 NLT
6 They are the kind who work their way into people’s homes and win the confidence of vulnerable women who are burdened with the guilt of sin and controlled by various desires.
7 (Such women are forever following new teachings, but they are never able to understand the truth.)
8 These teachers oppose the truth just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith.
9 But they won’t get away with this for long. Someday everyone will recognize what fools they are, just as with Jannes and Jambres.

II Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Why can't some people learn the truth?

They can't because they don't love the truth!
The Truth, is a person, and that person is the Lord Jesus Christ.

John 14:6 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.

John 7:17 KJV
If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of Myself.

John 3:16-21 KJV
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

I Corinthians 1:18-31 KJV
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the
world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in His presence.
30 But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

II Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Because.....

II Timothy 4:3 KJV
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Bible Questionns Answered: Sheep-The Lost

Bible Questions Answered:
In Luke 15, doesn't Jesus say there are some just persons who need no repentance?
Theresa/ Scarborough, Canada

Bible Answer:
No!

Text: Luke 15:1-7 KJV
1 Then drew near unto Him all the publicans and sinners for to hear Him.
2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This Man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
3 And He spake this parable unto them, saying,
4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Jesus, according to our text, was talking to the Pharisees and scribes.
They considered themselves righteous, actually they were “self-righteous.”

If there is anything God hates, it is “self-righteousness,” which is no, righteousness at all.

Proverbs 12:15 KJV
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

Proverbs 20:6 KJV
Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?

Proverbs 30:12 KJV
There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

Jeremiah 2:35 NLT
And yet you say,‘I have done nothing wrong. Surely God isn’t angry with me!’ But now I will punish you severely because you claim you have not sinned.

Revelation 3:17 KJV (Laodicean Church.)
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

Jesus had come to “go after that which is lost,(Luke 15:4 KJV).
God can not help an individual, until they realize that they are lost, in need of the Good Shepherd.

Romans 3:10 KJV
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Romans 3:23 KJV
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 5:12 KJV
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Galatians 3:22 KJV
But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

I John 1:8-10 KJV
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

How many are righteous, and do not need salvation? None!

Romans 3:10 KJV
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Jeremiah 17:9 KJV
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

The Publicans (Tax collectors, as such was Matthew.) and sinners, who were the out-casts, gladly heard Jesus.

Matthew 9:10-13 KJV
10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples.
11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto His disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
12 But when Jesus heard that, He said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Our Shepherd, is the Good Shepherd.

Isaiah 40:11 KJV
He shall feed His flock like a shepherd: He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

John 10:7-14 KJV
7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the Door of the sheep.
8 All that ever came before Me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the Door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the Good Shepherd: the Good Shepherd giveth His life for the sheep.
12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14 I am the Good Shepherd, and know My sheep, and am known of Mine.

Hebrews 13:20 KJV
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that Great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

I Peter 2:25 NLT
Once you were like sheep who wandered away. But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.

Are you lost, in need of the Saviour, Shepherd?

Isaiah 45:22 KJV
Look unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

John 6:37 KJV
All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.

Acts 2:21 KJV
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Acts 10:43 NLT
He is the one all the prophets testified about, saying that everyone who believes in Him will have their sins forgiven through His name.”

I Timothy 2:4 KJV
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

II Peter 3:9 KJV
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

I John 5:1 NLT
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves His children, too.

Take Christ, the Good Shepherd, to be your Shepherd, and this day, there will be joy in heaven!

Bible Questions Answered: Heaven-The Third

Bible Questions Answered:
What is this nirvana Paul talks about, in Corinthians?
Nachum/ Pune, India

Text:
II Corinthians 12:1-5 KJV
1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to
the third heaven.

3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

II Corinthians 12:1-4 NLT
1 This boasting will do no good, but I must go on. I will reluctantly tell about visions and revelations from the Lord.
2 I was caught up to the third heaven fourteen years ago. Whether I was in my body or out of my body, I don’t know-only God knows.
3 Yes, only God knows whether I was in my body or outside my body. But I do know
4 that I was caught up to paradise and heard things so astounding that they cannot be expressed in words, things no human is allowed to tell.

Many believe that the Apostle Paul, at Lystra, was stoned to death.

Acts 14:1,2;5,6;19,20 NLT
1 "...Paul and Barnabas went to the Jewish synagogue and preached with such power that a great number of both Jews and Greeks became believers.
2 Some of the Jews, however, spurned God’s message and poisoned the minds of the Gentiles against Paul and Barnabas.

5 Then a mob of Gentiles and Jews, along with their leaders, decided to attack and stone them.
6 When the apostles learned of it, they fled to the region of Lycaonia—to the towns of Lystra and Derbe and the surrounding area.
7 And there they preached the Good News.

19 Then some Jews arrived from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowds to their side. They stoned Paul and dragged him out of town, thinking he was dead.
20 But as the believers gathered around him, he got up and went back into the town. The next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe.

If indeed he had been, it was at this time, that he had his revelation of heaven.

The word of the Lord speaks of three heavens...

The First Heaven:
The atmosphere above the earth.

Job 35:5 KJV
Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.

The Second Heaven:
The starry universe.

Genesis 1:14-18 KJV
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: He made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

Deuteronomy 17:3 KJV
And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

The Third Heaven:
God's house.

John 14:1-3 KJV
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me.
2 In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Deuteronomy 26:15 KJV
"Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven..."

I Kings 8:27,30 KJV
"...and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place..."

II Chronicles 30:27 KJV
"...and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to His holy dwelling place, even unto heaven."

Nehemiah 9:6 KJV
Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.

Isaiah 66:1 KJV
Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool: where is the house that ye build unto Me? and where is the place of My rest?

Luke 11:2 KJV
And He said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

II Corinthians 5:1 KJV
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Bible Questions Answered: Sabbath Or Sunday Part II

Bible Questions Answered:
We are to keep the Sabbath! The Ten Commandments state- Exodus 8:20 “Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy”-Read I John 2:3,4 if you dare post this! And Saturday was the Sabbath!
Helen/ Friendswood, Texas

Bible Answers:

Text: I John 2:3,4 KJV
3 And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments*.
4 He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

* Commandments-Greek-Entole (En-tol-ay): An authoritative prescription; commandment, precept.
(All translations-Abingdon's Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible.)

Notice something?
In I John 2:3,4 it did not say “Decalogue,” but “An authoritative prescription; commandment, precept.”

But doesn't the word Commandments, mean Decalogue?
No, here in the New Testament, it does “not.”
Case in point....

John 13:34 KJV
A new commandment* I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

* Commandments-Greek-Entole (En-tol-ay):
An authoritative prescription; commandment, precept.

John 15:12 KJV
This is My commandment*, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

* Commandments-Greek-Entole (En-tol-ay): An authoritative prescription; commandment, precept.

I John 3:21-24 KJV
21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments*, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
23 And this is His commandment, That we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
24 And he that keepeth His commandments dwelleth in Him, and He in him. And hereby we know that He abideth in us, by the Spirit which He hath given us.

* Commandments-Greek-Entole (En-tol-ay): An authoritative prescription; commandment, precept.

I John 3:21-24 NLT
21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.
22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

In both I John 2:3,4 and in I John 3:21-24 the same word is used, and what does the word commandment mean....it tells us!

I John 3:23 NLT
And this is His (Jesus Christ's) commandment: that we should
1) believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and
2) love one another, as He gave us commandment.

The words Christ spoke are the Christians Commandments!

Bible Lesson: Miracles Of Jesus-Nobleman's Son Healed

Bible Lesson: Miracles of Jesus- The Nobleman's Son healed.

Location: Cana of Galilee.

Text: John 4:46-54 KJV
46 So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where He made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman* , whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto Him, and besought Him that He would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
49 The nobleman saith unto Him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
52 Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
54 This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when He was come out of Judaea into Galilee.

* Nobleman-Greek-Basilikos (Bas-il-ee-kos): Regal (in relation),..a courtier, or king's, nobleman, royal.
(Abingdon's Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible)

Courtier: An attendant at a royal court.
(New World Dictionary)

This nobleman, was an officer of Herod Antipas (son of Herod the Great)-(tetrarch* of Galilee.
* Tetrarch: Roman ruler of a province.

This account reads so clearly in the New Living Translation.

John 4:43-54 NLT
43 At the end of the two days, Jesus went on to Galilee.
44 He Himself had said that a prophet is not honored in his own hometown.
45 Yet the Galileans welcomed Him, for they had been in Jerusalem at the Passover celebration and had seen everything He did there.
46 As He traveled through Galilee, He came to Cana, where He had turned the water into wine. There was a government official in nearby Capernaum whose son was very sick.
47 When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged Jesus to come to Capernaum to heal his son, who was about to die.
48 Jesus asked, “Will you never believe in Me unless you see miraculous signs and wonders?”
49 The official pleaded, “Lord, please come now before my little boy dies.”
50 Then Jesus told him, “Go back home. Your son will live!” And the man believed what Jesus said and started home.
51 While the man was on his way, some of his servants met him with the news that his son was alive and well.
52 He asked them when the boy had begun to get better, and they replied, “Yesterday afternoon at one o’clock his fever suddenly disappeared!”
53 Then the father realized that that was the very time Jesus had told him, “Your son will live.” And he and his entire household believed in Jesus.
54 This was the second miraculous sign Jesus did in Galilee after coming from Judea.

The Roman officer, had heard that Jesus had returned from Judea, and was at Cana.
No doubt he had heard of Christ's first miracle, a year before, of the water turned to wine, perhaps he may have even been there. He had “faith,” that Jesus could cure his son.

His son, was sick unto death.
Our Lord always honors faith, and this Roman ruler would prove to be no exception.

How's your faith today?
Is it strong in the Lord?

James 1:5-8 KJV
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Romans 10:17 KJV
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

John 4:48,49 KJV
48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
49 The nobleman saith unto Him, Sir, come down ere my child die.

The nobleman, by his strongly requesting the Lord Jesus to go down to Capernaum, to heal his dying son, had revealed his little faith in the real power of the one, in front of whom he was standing.

Mark 9:23,24 NLT (Father of a possessed boy.)
23 “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”
24 The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

Luke 1:37 KJV
For with God nothing shall be impossible.

John 4:50 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.

The nobleman's faith greatly increased, he now realized, that Jesus, could do even greater things than he had previously imagined. He did not have to touch his son, but merely speak the word, and it would be so!

The result, his son was healed, the very hour Jesus had spoken the word, “Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.”

Friends, let's have “faith,” in God.

Psalm 37:3-5 KJV
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.

Proverbs 3:5,6 KJV
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

Isaiah 26:3,4 KJV
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:

Matthew 17:20 KJV
And Jesus said unto them..., If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Mark 9:23 KJV
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

John 6:28,29 KJV
28 Then said they unto Him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent.

Bible Questions Answered: Perish-John 3:16

Bible Questions Answered:
I have a friend who's religion teaches that when someone goes to hell they perish, that's it, they are forever gone. One of their scriptures they used was John 3:16. Why do some people say hell is forever a place of agony then?
Sheila/ Monroe, New York

Bible Answer:

Text:
John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish*, but have everlasting life.

Perish-Greek-Apollumi (Ap-ol-loo-mee): To destroy fully, die, perish. (Note-this taken from the word Apo.)
Perish-Greek-Apo (Apo): Usually denotes separation, departure...”

(All translations-Abingdon's Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible.)

So what are we left to believe about John 3:16 and the word perish?

One thing we can do is to ask Jesus about the word!
Jesus uses the word elsewhere....yes, a place where we will come to know exactly what He means by the word perish (Apollumi).

Matthew 9:17 KJV (Jesus addresses Publicans and sinners.)
16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish*: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

Perish-Greek-Apollumi (Ap-ol-loo-mee): To destroy fully, die, perish. (Note-this taken from the word Apo.)
Perish-Greek-Apo (Apo): Usually denotes separation, departure...”

Here again our Saviour uses the very same word “Apollumi, let us see just what it means, and then it will guide us to it's meaning found in John 3:16.

Matthew 9:17 KJV
Neither do men put new wine into old bottles*: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

* Bottles-Greek-Askos (As-Kos): A leathern (skin) bag used as a bottle.

Wine was not put into bottles, but wine-skins.
Wine skins, were just that the skins, or hides of animals, mostly goats. The hides were sown so as to make a jug, to of course hold wine.

Now a new skin, (being new and strong and elastic), could easily hold a new fermenting wine as it became enlarged through the fermentation process.

But were new fermenting wine, be placed in an older goat skin (which over the years had lost all of it's elasticity) why the wine-skin would burst, the wine-skin would perish* (Matthew 9:17).

Perish-Greek-Apollumi (Ap-ol-loo-mee): To destroy fully, die, perish. (Note-this taken from the word Apo.)
Perish-Greek-Apo (Apo): Usually denotes separation, departure...”

Well, having read this story, from our Lord, we see exactly what He means by perish!

Did the wine-skins disappear, if they burst?
After all isn't that what the word perish means?

Absolutely not!
No, of course the burst wine-skins did not disappear, if they burst, they were merely ruined!

And that is what our Lord meant when He used the word “perish,” in John 3:16, ruined, forever marred for all of eternity.

John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish (be forever ruined)*, but have everlasting life.

Hell, Jesus taught is forever and ever, time without end.
Hell will, one day be cast into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:14).

Eternal Punishment:

Matthew 3:11,12 KJV (John the Baptist)
11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but He that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
12 Whose fan is in His hand, and He will throughly purge His floor, and gather His wheat into the garner; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Matthew 13:41-42 KJV
41 The Son of Man shall send forth His angels, and they shall gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 18:8 KJV
Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

Matthew 25:41 KJV
Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from Me, ye cursed, into
everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Mark 9:43-48 KJV
43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Revelation 14:9-11 KJV
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Revelation 20:10 KJV
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

What a picture in John 3:16, there is of sin. Sin is “missing the mark,” sin, is to be marred, to be ruined.
Not annihilation, far, far from it, but eternal torment.

II Peter 3:9 KJV
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

John 3:16-18 KJV
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Bible Questions Answered: Tempted

Bible Questions Answered:
I see that James 1:2, and verses 13 & 14 contradict each other, how so?
Ned/ Fresno, California

Bible Answer:

No, they do not, and this is an excellent reason for obtaining a Bible concordance, showing both Greek and Hebrew.

Text:
James 1:2 KJV
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations*;

* Temptations-Greek-Perasmos (Pi-ras-mos): A putting to proof (by experiment)-test.
(All translations- - Abingdon's Strong's Exhaustive Concordance.)

James 1:13,14 KJV
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted* of God: for God cannot be tempted* with evil, neither tempteth* He any man:

*Tempted-Greek-Peirazo (Pi-rad-zo): To entice (to do evil), to tempt.

*Tempted-Greek-Apeirastos (Ap-i-ras-tos): Untried i.e. not temptable, not to be tempted.

*Tempteth-Greek-Peirazo (Pi-rad-zo): To entice (to do evil), to tempt.

14 But every man is tempted*, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

*Tempted-Greek-Peirazo (Pi-rad-zo): To entice (to do evil), to tempt.

There are two different uses of the word “tempt,” from verse 2 and verses 13, & 14.
The first word used in verse 2, is that of a test, or a trial.

The word used in the first part of verse 13 is “tempted,”
Peirazo (Pi-rad-zo): To entice (to do evil), to tempt.
i.e. enticed to do evil.

13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God:

The second part of verse 13
for God cannot be tempted* with evil
The word used is
Apeirastos (Ap-i-ras-tos): Untried i.e. not temptable, not to be tempted.

The New King James, and New Living Translation, read more clearly.

James 1:2,3 NKJV
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,
3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

James 1:13,14 NKJV
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.
14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.

James 1:2 NLT
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.

James 1:13,14 NLT
13 And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and He never tempts anyone else.
14 Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away.

When a man falls into sin, he cannot blame God, he must blame himself, because he was drawn away by his own desires.

Martin Luther:
A man cannot prevent a bird from flying over head, no, but he can prevent him from making a nest in his hair.

So, there is no contradiction between James 1:2, and verses 13,14.
Man is to consider trials, conflicts, sufferings, and trouble an opportunity, because God will use them to teach and to strengthen him.

I Peter 1:7 KJV
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Our sinless and holy God, tempts no man, and cannot be tempted Himself.

Habakkuk 1:13 KJV
"Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity..."

Bible Questions Answered: Ark And It's Animals

Bible Questions Answered:
How many animals did Noah have in his ship?
Pepik/ Moscow, Russia

Bible Answer:
(Read the story Genesis 6-9.)

First of all, it was not a ship.
A ship has an engine, or a mast and a sail with a rudder, this was not the case in Noah's ark.

Noah's ark, was a three story box larger than a football field, 75' by 450' by 45 in height.
It had one door, which God shut, and one window for air.

Genesis 6:13-16 NLT
11 Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence.
12 God observed all this corruption in the world, for everyone on earth was corrupt.
13 So God said to Noah, “I have decided to destroy all living creatures, for they have filled the earth with violence. Yes, I will wipe them all out along with the earth!
14 “Build a large boat from cypress wood and waterproof it with tar, inside and out. Then construct decks and stalls throughout its interior.
15 Make the boat 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. 16 Leave an 18-inch opening below the roof all the way around the boat. Put the door on the side, and build three decks inside the boat—lower, middle, and upper.

How many animals could it hold? The total square feet of the ark was, 101,250 sq. ft.
Now did the Ark, have to hold all living animals? No. Fish, shell fish, sponges, amphibians, insects, etc. did not need to be on board.

It has been estimated by scholars, that the Ark could very easily have held some 50,000 animals.
Along with Noah, his wife and his three sons and their wives.

The Lord, brought the animals into the Ark, two by two and some times in groups of seven.

Genesis 6:17-21 NLT
17 “Look! I am about to cover the earth with a flood that will destroy every living thing that breathes. Everything on earth will die.
18 But I will confirm My covenant with you. So enter the boat—you and your wife and your sons and their wives.
19 Bring a pair of every kind of animal—a male and a female—into the boat with you to keep them alive during the flood.
20 Pairs of every kind of bird, and every kind of animal, and every kind of small animal that scurries along the ground, will come to you to be kept alive.
21 And be sure to take on board enough food for your family and for all the animals.”

One year two months and seventeen days later, the flood was over. (Genesis 8:13,14)

Genesis 8:15-22 NLT
15 Then God said to Noah,
16 “Leave the boat, all of you—you and your wife, and your sons and their wives.
17 Release all the animals—the birds, the livestock, and the small animals that scurry along the ground—so they can be fruitful and multiply throughout the earth.”
18 So Noah, his wife, and his sons and their wives left the boat.
19 And all of the large and small animals and birds came out of the boat, pair by pair.
20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and there he sacrificed as burnt offerings the animals and birds that had been approved for that purpose.
21 And the Lord was pleased with the aroma of the sacrifice and said to Himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of the human race, even though everything they think or imagine is bent toward evil from childhood. I will never again destroy all living things.
22 As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.”

The Sign of God's Covenant;

Genesis 9:12-17 NLT
12 Then God said, “I am giving you a sign of My covenant with you and with all living creatures, for all generations to come.
13 I have placed My rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of My covenant with you and with all the earth.
14 When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds,
15 and I will remember My covenant with you and with all living creatures. Never again will the flood waters destroy all life.
16 When I see the rainbow in the clouds, I will remember the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth.”
17 Then God said to Noah, “Yes, this rainbow is the sign of the covenant I am confirming with all the creatures on earth.”

Bible Questions Answered: Jewish-Judgment

Bible Questions Answered:
The Jews reject Jesus, what will be the result?
Tim/ Adelaide, Australia

Bible Answer:

After the rapture of the church of Jesus Christ, Daniel's 70th week begins. This is a time known as Jacob's Trouble, or the Tribulation.

The Tribulation:
Jeremiah 30:7 KJV

Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

Ezekiel 20:34-38 KJV
34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.
35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face.
36 Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD.
37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:
38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against Me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

Ezekiel 22:19-22 KJV
19 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
20 As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in Mine anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you.
21 Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of My wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst therof.
22 As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the Lord have poured out My fury upon you.

Zechariah 13:8,9 KJV
8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on My name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is My people: and they shall say, The Lord is My God.

The Tribulation is a seven year span of years that the Anti-Christ, makes a pact with Israel, a pact of peace.
In the midst of this week of years (3 ½ years), the Anti-Christ will break his covenant with the Jews, and present himself in their temple, as the main object of worship, claiming himself to be God.

This last 3 ½ years is a time of judgment upon the Jewish people, for embracing the Anti-Christ, while rejecting the very Son of God.

Matthew 24:21 KJV
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

In this time of judgment, many will perish, but in their trial, the Jews will begin to call upon the name of the Lord.

Zechariah 14:1,2 NLT
1 Watch, for the day of the Lord is coming when your possessions will be plundered right in front of you!
2 I will gather all the nations to fight against Jerusalem. The city will be taken, the houses looted, and the women raped. Half the population will be taken into captivity, and the rest will be left among the ruins of the city.

Zechariah 12:10 NLT
Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on Me whom they have pierced and mourn for Him as for an only Son. They will grieve bitterly for Him as for a firstborn son who has died.

The Second Coming:
Christ's first coming, of course was His birth, His second coming will be at the end of the Tribulation period.

Zechariah 14:3,4 NLT
3 Then the Lord will go out to fight against those nations, as He has fought in times past.
4 On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem. And the Mount of Olives will split apart, making a wide valley running from east to west. Half the mountain will move toward the north and half toward the south.

Revelation 1:7 KJV
Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen.

In one day, a nation will be converted!

Isaiah 66:8 KJV
Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

Romans 11:26 KJV
And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Today, the (unsaved) Jew, is not our brother or sister, but our friend, for whom we are to earnestly pray- do you do that? One day they will by the wonderful grace of God, be our brothers and sisters by the precious blood of Christ.

Psalm 122:6,7 NLT
6 Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper.
7 O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces.

Isaiah 62:6,7 NLT
6 O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen on your walls; they will pray day and night, continually. Take no rest, all you who pray to the Lord.
7 Give the Lord no rest until He completes His work, until He makes Jerusalem the pride of the earth.

Joel 2:17 KJV
Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?

Romans 10:1 KJV
Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
Amen
