Overcoming Victory
Bible Questions Answered:
“...times very devilish, how is one
to over come it...”
Dubem/ Logos, Nigeria
Bible Answer:
Revelation 12:11 KJV
And they overcame him (The
devil.) by The Blood Of The Lamb, and by the word of their
testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
*The Blood Of The Lamb:
The
Blood Of The Lamb, this pastor, remembers growing up as
a child, having an aunt that would every day, “plead the blood
of Christ” over all her family, and loved ones. Yes, we
Christians should do that yet today, the enemy cannot trespass, The
Blood Of Christ!
What Job did was but a prefiguring, of
that perfect Lamb of God that would come, Jesus The Son Of God.
Job 1:4,5 KJV
4 And his sons went and feasted in
their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three
sisters to eat and to drink with them.
5 And it was so, when the days of
their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them,
and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings
according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my
sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job
continually.
(Leviticus 1:1-17)
The enemy of our souls was forever
defeated at Calvary, by God's Perfect Lamb, His Son The Lord Jesus
Christ.
Isaiah 53:3-6 KJV
3 He (Jesus
Christ) is despised and rejected of men; a Man Of Sorrows,
and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.
4 Surely He
hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him
stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But He was
wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we
are healed.
6 All we like
sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and
The Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
John 1:29,36,37
KJV
29 The next day
John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold The Lamb Of
God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
35 Again the
next day after John (John the Baptist) stood, and two of his
disciples;
36 And looking
upon Jesus as He walked, he saith, Behold The Lamb Of God!
I Corinthians 15:24-28 NLT
24 After that
the end will come, when He (The Lord Jesus Christ.) will turn the
Kingdom over to God The Father, having destroyed every ruler and
authority and power.
25 For Christ
must reign until He humbles all His enemies beneath His feet.
26 And the last
enemy to be destroyed is death.
27 For the
Scriptures say, “God has put all things under His authority.”
(Of course, when it says “all things are under His authority,”
that does not include God Himself, who gave Christ His authority.)
28 Then, when
all things are under His authority, The Son will put Himself
under God’s authority, so that God, who gave His Son authority over
all things, will be utterly supreme over everything everywhere.
Revelation 1:5,6 KJV
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is The
Faithful Witness, and The First Begotten Of The Dead, and
The Prince Of The Kings Of The
Earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own
blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests
unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and
ever. Amen.
And then John tells us....
Revelation 12:11 KJV
And they overcame him (The
devil.) by The Blood Of The Lamb, and by the word of
their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the
death.
*Testimony:
Every Christian, should have a
testimony!
I Peter 3:15 KJV
But sanctify The Lord God in your
hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man
that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and
fear:
Every Christian has been called to be a
witness!
Romans 10:8-10 KJV
8 But what saith it? The Word is
nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, The Word of
faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with
thy mouth The Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God
hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth
unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation.
Christians are “not,” saved by good
works....but neither are we saved “from,” doing good works!
Our Savior taught us....
Matthew 5:14-16 KJV
14 Ye are the light of the world. A
city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle,
and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light
unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your Light so shine before
men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which
is in heaven.
Matthew 28:18-20 KJV
18 And Jesus came and spake unto
them, saying, All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all
nations, baptizing them in the name of The Father, and of The Son,
and of
The Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all
things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you
always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
And, lastly the disciple John tells us
for having overcoming victory.....
Revelation 12:11 KJV
And they overcame him (The
devil.) by The Blood Of The Lamb, and by the word of their
testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
The Blood Of Christ:
Our Confession:
and...
Our Self-Sacrifice!
*Self-Sacrifice:
Matthew 10:24,38,39 NLT
24 Don’t be concerned for your own
good but for the good of others.
38 If you refuse to take up your
cross and follow Me, you are not worthy of being Mine.
39 If you cling to your life, you
will lose it; but if you give up your life for Me, you will find it.
Matthew 16:24,25 KJV
24 Then said Jesus unto His
disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and
take up his cross, and follow Me.
25 For whosoever will save his life
shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall
find it.
Matthew 19:21 KJV
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be
perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou
shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow Me.
Mark 8:34 KJV
And when He had called the people
unto Him with His disciples also, He said unto them, Whosoever will
come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and
follow Me.
Mark 10:21 KJV
Then Jesus beholding him loved him,
and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell
whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have
treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.
Here is the Apostle Paul's plan for
“overcoming the enemy of our souls.
Ephesians 6:10-18 KJV
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong
in The Lord, and in the power of His might.
11 Put on the whole armor of God,
that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh
and blood, but against
principalities, against
powers, against
the rulers of the darkness of
this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high
places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole
armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and
having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins
girt about with Truth, and having on the breastplate of
righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the
preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of
faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the
fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with
all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto
with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
James 4:7 KJV
Submit yourselves therefore to God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
I John 5:4 KJV
For whatsoever is born of God over
cometh the world: and this is the victory that over cometh the world,
even our faith.
