Bible Lesson: Prophecies And Their Fulfillment: Bible Prophecy: Messiah Stricken And Spit Upon.

Bible Lesson: Prophecies And Their Fulfillment:

Bible Prophecy: Messiah Stricken And Spit Upon.

Bible Text:

Isaiah 50:6 KJV
I gave My back to the smiters, and My cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not My face from shame and spitting.

Prophecy Fulfillment:

Matthew 26:67,68 NLT
67 Then they began to spit in Jesus’ face and beat Him with their fists. And some slapped Him,
68 jeering, “Prophesy to us, you Messiah! Who hit you that time?”

Matthew 27:26 NLT
So Pilate released Barabbas to them. He ordered Jesus flogged with a lead-tipped whip, then turned Him over to the Roman soldiers to be crucified.

Mark 14:65 NLT
Then some of them began to spit at Him, and they blindfolded Him and beat Him with their fists. “Prophesy to us,” they jeered. And the guards slapped Him as they took Him away.

Mark 15:16-20 NLT
16 The soldiers took Jesus into the courtyard of the governor’s headquarters (called the Praetorium) and called out the entire regiment.
17 They dressed Him in a purple robe, and they wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on His head.
18 Then they saluted Him and taunted, “Hail! King Of The Jews!”
19 And they struck Him on the head with a reed stick, spit on Him, and dropped to their knees in mock worship.
20 When they were finally tired of mocking Him, they took off the purple robe and put His own clothes on Him again. Then they led Him away to be crucified.

John 18:22 NLT
Then one of the Temple guards standing nearby slapped Jesus across the face..."

John 19:1-3 NLT
Then Pilate had Jesus flogged with a lead-tipped whip.
2 The soldiers wove a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put a purple robe on Him.
3 “Hail! King Of The Jews!” they mocked, as they slapped Him across the face.

The Apostle Paul admonishes us, as Christians...

II Corinthians 5:21 NLT
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

Philippians 2:1-5,12-16 NLT
1 Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from His love? Any fellowship together in The Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate?
2 Then...agree.. wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.
3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.
4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
12 "...Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.
13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.
14 Do everything without complaining and arguing,
15 so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright Lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.
16 Hold firmly to the word of Life..."

Prayer:

Romans 1:16 KJV
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is The Power Of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Romans 5:7,8 KJV
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:23 KJV
For the wages of sin is death; but The Gift Of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 10:9, 10 KJV9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth The Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto Salvation.
