Bible Lesson: Prophecies Made By The
Lord Jesus: God's Gift Of The Holy Spirit To Believers.

Text: The Prophecy:
1.) Christians were to receive The
Holy Spirit after The Lord's Ascension and Glorification.
John 7:37-39 KJV
37 In the last
day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If
any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink.
38 He that
believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall
flow rivers of living water.
39 (But this
spake He of The Spirit, which they that believe on Him should
receive: for
The Holy Ghost
was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
2.) The Holy Spirit A Comforter to
God's people:
John 14:16-18 KJV
16 And I will
pray The Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may
abide with you for ever;
17 Even The
Spirit Of Truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him
not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you,
and shall be in you.
18 I will not
leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
3.) The Holy Spirit Will Reprove The
World.
John 16:7,8 KJV
7 Nevertheless
I tell you The Truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if
I go not away, The Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart,
I will send Him unto you.
8 And when He
is come, He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and
of judgment:
4.) The Holy Spirit Will Guide
Believers:
John 16:13 KJV
When
The Spirit Of Truth comes, He will guide you into all Truth. He will
not speak on His own but will tell you what He has heard. He will
tell you about the future.
5.) The Holy Spirit, Given To
Believers In Jerusalem:
Luke 24:49 KJV
And, behold, I
send The Promise Of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of
Jerusalem, until ye be endued with Power from on high.

Comforter, which is The Holy Ghost, whom The Father will send in My

The Spirit Of
Truth, which proceedeth from The Father, He shall testify of Me:

Romans 8:26 NLTAnd The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But The Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.

unction from The Holy One, and ye know all things.

But you have
received The Holy Spirit, and He lives within you, so you don’t
need anyone to teach you what is true (Truth KJV). For The Spirit
teaches you everything you need to know, and what He teaches is
true—it is not a lie. So just as He has taught you, remain in
fellowship with Christ.

5 “But now I
am going away to The One who sent Me, and not one of you is asking
where I am going.
6 Instead, you
grieve because of what I’ve told you.
7 But in fact,
it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, The Advocate
won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send Him to you.

And when He comes, He will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s
righteousness, and of the coming
judgment.
9 The world’s
sin is that it refuses to believe in Me.

Righteousness is available because I go to The Father, and you will
see Me no more.
11 Judgment
will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged.
12 “There is
so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now.
13 When The
Spirit Of Truth comes, He will guide you into all Truth. He will not
speak on His own but will tell you what He has heard. He will tell
you about the future.
14 He will
bring Me glory by telling you whatever He receives from Me.
15 All that
belongs to The Father is Mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will
tell you whatever He receives from Me.’

chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he
