John 6:53 KJV

Bible Questions Answered:
“...how do we eat Jesus?...”
Gena/ Voronezh, Oblast Russia

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

John 6:47-56 KJV
47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me hath everlasting Life.
48 I am that Bread Of Life.
49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
50 This is The Bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
51 I am The Living Bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this Bread, he shall live for ever:

(We will resume this scripture in a moment.)

Jesus is speaking metaphorically.

Metaphor:
A figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to something to which it is not literally applicable in order to suggest a resemblance, as in “A mighty fortress is our God.”.
(Dictionary.com)

Jesus, of course was not a loaf of bread, He was using a metaphor, to refer to what takes place spiritually, in the heart and life of a believer.

Now that having been said, whatever the bread is, notice that Jesus says the bread eater does not die (verse 50).

Do Christian people die, and have they since the very beginning? Yes!
Then this is another proof that our Lord was speaking metaphorically, of a spiritual happening.

Now that we know, this is how The Lord is speaking, let us read on.

and The Bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?
53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of The Son Of Man, and drink His blood, ye have no life in you.
54 Whoso eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, hath eternal Life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
55 For My flesh is meat indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.
56 He that eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, dwelleth in Me, and I in him.

(Alright Pastor, Jesus is speaking metaphorically, but what is he saying then?)

Again our Lord, uses metaphors to express spiritually what a follower of His must do.
Just as we eat and drink for our bodies, to sustain them, so too we must spiritually eat and drink to sustain our soul.

What does this scripture mean, it means that we must constantly and as necessarily, nourish our soul with The Word, presence and power of The Lord, so that it may live forever, and Jesus says, it will!

LIFE:

John 10:10 KJV
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have Life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

John 14:6 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no man cometh unto The Father, but by Me.

John 20:31 KJV
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is The Christ, The Son Of God; and that believing ye might have Life through His name.

EVERLASTING LIFE:

Daniel 12:2 KJV
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting Life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Matthew 19:29 KJV
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting Life.

John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting Life.

John 3:36 KJV
He that believeth on The Son hath everlasting Life: and he that believeth not The Son shall not see Life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

John 4:14 KJV
But whosoever drinketh of The Water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but The Water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of Water springing up into everlasting Life.

John 5:24 KJV
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting Life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto Life.

John 6:27 KJV
Labor not for the meat which perisheth, but for that Meat which endureth unto everlasting Life, which The Son Of Man shall give unto you: for Him hath God The Father sealed.

John 6:40 KJV
And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth The Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting Life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:47 KJV
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me hath everlasting Life.

Romans 6:22 KJV
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting Life.

Our precious Lord, never taught His followers, cannibalism, and please also note, when instituted,
(The Last Supper), Christ was not even dead, could it have been His actual flesh, and blood, never.

Communion is what The Lord said it is....

Luke 22:19 KJV
And He took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is My body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of Me.

1 Corinthians 11:24,25 KJV
24 And when He had given thanks, He brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is My body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of Me.
25 After the same manner also He took the cup, when He had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in My blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of Me.

Beloved friend, stay nourished, in The Lord!

John 14:20 KJV
At that day ye shall know that I am in My Father, and ye in Me, and I in you.
