Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
Jesus did “not,” allow demons to
speak:
Mark 1:23-26,34 KJV
23 And there was in their synagogue
a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
24 Saying, Let us alone; what
have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to
destroy us? I know thee who thou art, The Holy One Of God.
25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying,
Hold thy peace, and come out of him.
26 And when the unclean spirit had
torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
34 And He healed many that were sick
of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the
devils to speak, because they knew Him.
Mark 3:11,12 KJV
11 And unclean spirits, when they
saw Him, fell down before Him, and cried, saying, Thou art
The Son Of God.
12 And He straightly charged them
that they should not make Him known.
Mark 5:1-13 KJV
1 And they came over unto the other
side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2 And when He was come out of the
ship, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an
unclean spirit,
3 Who had his dwelling among the
tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
4 Because that he had been often
bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked
asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any
man tame him.
5 And always, night and day, he was
in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with
stones.
6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he
ran and worshiped Him,
7 And cried with a loud voice,
and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou
Son Of The Most high God? I
adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
8 For He said unto him, Come out of
the man, thou unclean spirit.
9 And He asked him, What is thy
name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
10 And he besought Him much that
He would not send them away out of the country.
11 Now there was there nigh unto the
mountains a great herd of swine feeding.
12 And all the devils besought Him,
saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
13 And forthwith Jesus gave them
leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine:
and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they
were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.
Jesus Did Not
Allow Unclean Spirits To Speak Because:
1.)
Demons are unclean spirits
that fell when Satan fell from heaven.
They
have been already judged, but their sentence has not for the most
part of them, yet been carried out.
Matthew 25:41
KJV
Then
shall He say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from Me, ye
cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
I Timothy 4:1
KJV
Now the Spirit
speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from
the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of
devils;
II Peter 2:4 NLT
For
God did not spare even the angels who sinned. He threw them
into hell, in gloomy pits of darkness, where they are being held
until the day of judgment.
Jude
6 KJV
“And
the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own
habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness
unto the judgment of the great day.”
Revelation
12:3,4,7-9 KJV
3
And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red
dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his
heads.
4
And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven,
and did cast them to the earth:
and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be
delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
7
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against
the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8
And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the
Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out
into the earth, and his
angels were cast out with him.
Revelation
20:10-15 KJV
10
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of
fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and
shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11
And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose
face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place
for them.
12
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books
were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life:
and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in
the books, according to their works.
13
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell
delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every
man according to their works.
14
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the
second death.
15
And whosoever was not found written in the book of Life was cast into
the lake of fire.
2.) Jesus
did not “need,” the testimony of condemned unclean spirits:
Matthew 3:17 KJV
And
lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is My Beloved Son, in whom I am
well pleased.
Matthew 17:5 KJV
While
he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a
voice out of the cloud, which said, This is My Beloved Son, in whom I
am well pleased; hear ye Him.
John 5:39 KJV
Search
the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they
are they which testify of Me.
John 8:18 KJV
I
am one that bear witness of Myself, and The Father that sent Me
beareth witness of Me.
John 15:26 KJV
But
when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from The
Father, even The Spirit Of Truth, which proceedeth from The Father,
He shall testify of Me:
I John 5:9 KJV
If
we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for
this is the witness of God which He hath testified of His Son.
3.) Because
Christ's authority and power was over unclean spirits, He had every
right to command their silence.
Matthew 28:18
KJV
And
Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto Me in
heaven and in earth.
Mark 1:27 KJV
And
they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves,
saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with
authority commandeth He even the unclean spirits, and they do obey
Him.
John 5:26,27 KJV
26
For as The Father hath life in Himself; so hath He given to The Son
to have life in Himself;
27
And hath given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is
The Son Of Man.
4.) Our
Lord had set a time to announce His divinity, and He did not need the
help of unclean spirits. Jesus
charged men, not to make His presence known. Unclean (rebellious)
spirits took no directions from Him, they greatly desired to disrupt
His plans and wishes.
Matthew 8:4 KJV
And
Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man;
but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that
Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
Matthew 16:20
KJV
Then
charged He his disciples that they should tell no man
that He was Jesus The Christ.
Mark 7:36 KJV
And
He charged them that they should tell no man:
but the more He charged them, so much the more a great deal they
published it;
Mark 8:30 KJV
And
He charged them that they should tell no man
of Him.
Mark 9:9 KJV
And
as they came down from the mountain, He charged them that they should
tell no man what
things they had seen, till The Son Of Man were risen from the dead.

but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing,
according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

tell no man what was
done.
Luke 9:21 KJV
And
He straightly charged them, and commanded them to tell no
man that thing;
God gives
victory over evil spirits, to His children!
Matthew 10:1,6-8
KJV

gave them power against unclean spirits,
to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner
of disease.

7
And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

KJV
19

scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy:
and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject
unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in
heaven.
James 4:7 KJV
7
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and
he will flee from you.
I John 3:8 KJV
He
that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the
beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,
that He might destroy the works of the devil.
