Bible Questions Answered: Liberal-Was Jesus?

Bible Questions Answered:
I have gotten into a discussion with my friends, about if Jesus was liberal or not, what does the Bible say?

Bible Answers:
Liberal: Giving freely, generous. New World Dictionary of American English.

Based upon this understanding, there can be no doubt that Jesus was “very, liberal.”

Acts of Jesus Christ:

At Cana, liberally (ten water pots) changed water into wine. John 2:1-11

At the Sea of Galilee, Jesus used Peter's boat for preaching, and then rewarded them.
Luke 5:1-11
(By the way, it certainly “was not,” the Lord Jesus Christ, who coined the stupid phrase,
“You can give a man a fish, or you can teach him how to fish.”
This phrase was dreamed up by some rich man, who couldn't dream of parting with one dime of his money, and we know individuals and organizations like that.)

At the N.E. Shores of Galilee, over 5,000 people were feed (This figure only counted the men present, not wives, children, single ladies, etc., so in all likely hood, 10,000 or more, were fed that day!) Mark 6:35-44

This happened again with some 4,000 ….Mark 8:1-10

At the Sea of Galilee, after His resurrection, Jesus showed Himself to His disciples, and blessed them with a “bulging net full of fish”....John 21:1-14

At Capernaum, Jesus liberally paid taxes for His disciples and Himself. Matthew 17:24-27.

All of these things and so much more, liberal gifts of deliverance, healings, resurrections, etc..etc..etc..

Teaching of Jesus Christ:

Acts 20:35 KJV
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Luke 6:30,38 KJV
Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Matthew 5:40-42 KJV
[40] And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
[41] And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
[42] Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Luke 12:33 KJV
Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

Matthew 19:21 KJV
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow Me.

Mark 10:21 KJV
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.

Luke 18:22 KJV
Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow Me.

Luke 12:34 KJV
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 6:1-4 KJV
[1] Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
[2] Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
[3] But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
[4] That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

Luke 14:12-14 KJV
[12] Then said He also to him that bade Him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.
[13] But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
[14] And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

Mark 12:43,44 KJV
[43] And He called unto Him His disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
[44] For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

Luke 21:3,4 KJV
[3] And He said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
[4] For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

Luke 11:41 KJV
But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.

Luke 16:9 KJV
And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

Acts 4:34,35 (The successful early church.)
[34] Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
[35] And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

Acts 11:29 KJV (Missionary giving)
Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

II Corinthians 8:1-4 NLT
1 And now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches.
2 Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity.
3 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own,

II Corinthians 9:6 KJV
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Philippians 4:14-16 NLT
14 Yet it was good of you to share in my troubles.
15Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only;
16for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid again and again when I was in need.

Friends, may we always, without fail, follow the example of our Saviour the Lord Jesus.

Luke 10:25-37 KJV
[25] And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted Him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
[26] He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
[27] And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
[28] And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
[29] But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
[30] And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
[31] And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
[32] And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
[33] But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
[34] And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
[35] And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
[36] Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
[37] And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

Matthew 10:8 KJV
...freely ye have received, freely give.”

Proverbs 11:23-25 NLT
23 The godly can look forward to a reward, while the wicked can expect only judgment.
24 Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything.
25 The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.

Proverbs 21:13 KJV
Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

Proverbs 28:27 KJV
He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.

Isaiah 58:10 KJV
And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:
