Bible Questions Answered: Mediators

Bible Questions Answered:
Do you believe in the “Patron Saints,” of protection, and mediation?
Martin S./ Newark, New Jersey

Bible Answer:
There is only “one-protector-mediator,”to be prayed to, for the children of God, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ, God's (Everlasting) Son.

The word of God prohibits the praying or worshiping men or angels!

Revelation 19:10 KJV “And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God:...”

Revelation 22:8,9 KJV
[8] And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
[9] Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

An Angelic Messenger, had revealed a vision to the Apostle John, of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb of God.”

And John fell at his feet to worship him, but the heavenly messenger told him...” See thou do it not.”

Exodus 20:4 KJV “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: “

Leviticus 26:1 KJVYe shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.

Isaiah 42:8 KJV “I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.“

I John 1:21 KJV “Little children, keep yourselves from idols.”

Matthew 4:10 KJV “Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.

I Timothy 2:5 KJV For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Romans 8:34 KJV “...It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”

Our Saviour High Priest, the Lord Jesus, is not on some crucifix, waiting to be sacrificed over and over again...

I Peter 3:18 KJV (Hebrews 9:26) “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

Hebrews 7:21-26 NLT
21 "...there was an oath regarding Jesus. For God said to Him,
"The LORD has taken an oath and will not break His vow:
"You are a priest forever.'"
22 Because of this oath, Jesus is the one who guarantees this better covenant with God.
23 There were many priests under the old system, for death prevented them from remaining in office.
24 But because Jesus lives forever, His priesthood lasts forever.
25 Therefore He is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through Him.
He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
26 He is the kind of high priest we need because He is holy and blameless, unstained by sin. He has been set apart from sinners and has been given the highest place of honor in heaven."

I John 2:1 KJVMy little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: “

The “only-person,” we are ever to pray to as Christian people, and that is our God in heaven.

Psalm 121:1-8 KJV
[1] I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
[2] My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
[3] He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keepeth thee will not slumber.
[4] Behold, He that keepeth Israel (God's People) shall neither slumber nor sleep.
[5] The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
[6] The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
[7] The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: He shall preserve thy soul.
[8] The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
