Bible Lessons: Prayer Obligation
Bible Lessons:
Is it the Christian's obligation to pray for sinners?
Bible Answer:
Yes.
I Timothy 2:1,3,4 KJV
[1] I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
[3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
[4] Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Note:
(Does God "elect," some to be save and others lost?
of course not!)
Isaiah 61:1 KJV
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
One way we as Christian people can do this is through the avenue of prayer!
We'd accomplish so much more, if we would but pray.
James 4:2 KJV "... ye have not, because ye ask not."
Matthew 7:7,8 KJV
[7] Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
[8] For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Mark 16:15 KJV "And He(Jesus) said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
Have you ever thought that you can go into "all-the-world," by prayer!
Start today, pray for the lost in countries torn by hatred and war. Ask the Lord to give you a burden for the lost, and began a life of prayer for those who do not know the Saviour.
