Salvation Through Sacrifice?
Bible Questions Answered:
“Doesn't the bible say we are
received by our works. I read in Micah, just works of mercy make one
acceptable to God.

Bible Text:
Micah 6:6-8 KJV
6 Wherewith shall I come before The
Lord, and bow myself before The High God? shall I come before Him
with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?
7 Will The Lord be pleased with
thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I
give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the
sin of my soul?
8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what
is good; and what doth The Lord require of thee, but to do justly,
and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Micah, asked his
people, will the best of our sacrifices, win us forgiveness? And his
answers was, no!
Men cannot as
sinners “buy,” or sacrifice to “appease,” God's wrath for
sin!
But when a man
turns to The Savior, and has repented of his sin, and show signs of
Godliness in his life (faith and confession) then the wrath of God is
taken away.
Man is “not,”
saved by virtues, or good deeds, virtues and good deeds are the
result of his having salvation!
Ephesians 2:8,9
KJV
8 For by grace
are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is The
Gift Of God (Jesus Christ):
9 Not of works, lest any man should
boast.
What an offense to
Almighty God, who sent His Only Begotten Son into the world, to be
mans Savior!
It wasn't virtues
of Justice, mercy or humility that hung on Calvary's Cross 2,000
years ago, it was God's most Precious Son.
God's Salvation,
cannot be bought at any price, claimed Micah!
I Samuel
15:22,23 KJV (Over 1,000 years
before Micah, yes he knew well these words of Samuel.)
22 And Samuel said, Hath The Lord as
great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the
voice of The Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and
to hearken than the fat of rams.
23 For rebellion is as the sin of
witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry..."
God is not to be
taken advantage of, our God is no fool!
Man cannot buy, no
matter how great the sacrifice, his salvation!
Matthew 7:21 KJV
Not every one that saith unto Me,
Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that
doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven.
Oh how the earthly, rebellious mind of man, yearns to formulate ways
and means “other than repentance of sin, for salvation!” But
alas, there are none!
Psalm 40:6 KJV
Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou
opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
Hosea 14:1,2 NLT
1 Return...to The Lord your God, for your sins have brought you
down.
2 Bring your confessions, and return to The Lord. Say to Him,
“Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us, so that we may
offer you our praises.
Joel 2:12 KJV
Therefore also now, saith The Lord, turn ye even to Me with all
your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
Matthew 3:2 KJV
"... Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Luke 13:1-5 NLT
1 About this time Jesus was informed that Pilate had murdered
some people from Galilee as they were offering sacrifices at the
Temple.
2 “Do you think those Galileans were worse sinners than all the
other people from Galilee?” Jesus asked. “Is that why they
suffered?
3 Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of
your sins and turn to God.
4 And what about the eighteen people who died when the tower in
Siloam fell on them? Were they the worst sinners in Jerusalem?
5 No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will
perish, too.”
Acts 3:19 KJV
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be
blotted out..."
Acts 17:30 KJV
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth
all men every where to repent:
Repentance of sin (means one makes 180°
turn around), faith and, confession, this is coming to
The Savior for salvation.
John 6:37 KJV
All that The Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that
cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.
Revelation 3:20 KJV
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice,
and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup (fellowship)
with him, and he with Me.
Deuteronomy 10:12 KJV
And now, Israel, what doth The Lord thy God require of thee, but
to fear The Lord thy God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him,
and to serve The Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy
soul,
