Bible Questions Answered:
I see a biblical contradiction in the following verses...
Acts 9:7 KJV “And the men which journeyed with him (Saul) stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.”
Acts 22:9 KJV “ And they that were with me (Saul) saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of Him that spake to me.
The first text claims that the men heard the voice speaking to Saul, and in the second text, it says that they did not hear a voice talking to Saul.
Thus the bible contradicts itself!

The answer to this seeming quandary, is easily understood by anyone who has seen someone off in the distance (maybe in a meeting of some kind, or down the street, etc.).
He sees the people, he hears them talking...but they are a ways from him, so that he only hears the sounds of them talking, but cannot understand any of their words.
This is exactly what these two texts are telling us.
Those who accompanied Saul, heard the sounds of talking, but could not understand the words, being said.
Did they hear Saul speaking to some one, yes!
Could they hear what was being said, no!
Here more easily translated is the New Living Translation:
Acts 9:7 NLT
“The men with Saul stood speechless, for they heard the sound of someone's voice but saw no one”
and
Acts 22:9 NLT
“The people with me saw the light but didn't understand the voice speaking to me.”
The inerrant Word, remains true!
