Bible Questions Answered: Dome Of The Rock

Bible Questions Answered:
Why don't the Jewish people build their temple, they talk about it, but don't build it.

Bible Answers:
Genesis 22:1-19 NLT
1 Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called. “Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.”
2 “Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”
3 The next morning Abraham got up early. He saddled his donkey and took two of his servants with him, along with his son, Isaac. Then he chopped wood for a fire for a burnt offering and set out for the place God had told him about.
4 On the third day of their journey, Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.
5 “Stay here with the donkey,” Abraham told the servants. “The boy and I will travel a little farther. We will worship there, and then we will come right back.”
6 So Abraham placed the wood for the burnt offering on Isaac’s shoulders, while he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them walked on together,
7 Isaac turned to Abraham and said, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied.
“We have the fire and the wood,” the boy said, “but where is the sheep for the burnt offering?”
8 “God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham answered. And they both walked on together.
9 When they arrived at the place where God had told him to go, Abraham built an altar and arranged the wood on it. Then he tied his son, Isaac, and laid him on the altar on top of the wood.
10 And Abraham picked up the knife to kill his son as a sacrifice.
11 At that moment the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Yes,” Abraham replied. “Here I am!”
12 “Don’t lay a hand on the boy!” the angel said. “Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son.”
13 Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket. So he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of his son.
14 Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the Lord will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”
15 Then the angel of the Lord called again to Abraham from heaven.
16 “This is what the Lord says: Because you have obeyed me and have not withheld even your son, your only son, I swear by my own name that
17 I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies.
18 And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed—all because you have obeyed me.”
19 Then they returned to the servants and traveled back to Beersheba, where Abraham continued to live.

“Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”
Mount Moriah, is the rocky place where Isaac, was offered up as a sacrifice, in obedience to God by Abraham.

The Patriarch Abraham is revered by Jews, Christians, and Muslim's.
Not only is Abraham revered, but to the Muslim's, it is the place of heavenly ascension of Mohammad, the Muslim Prophet.

In 638 A.D the Arabs captured Jerusalem, in the years 685-691 A.D., the Muslim's, built what is called the Dome of the Rock (The Mosque of Omar.).
In the center of the temple mount stands a gold capped, octagonal building housing a rock, some fifty eight feet long, by fifty one feet wide, by some six feet in height.

Here, Isaac, was offered up, here, the Arabs say, the Prophet Mohammad, ascended up to heaven.

Where the Dome of the Rock stands, is a very sacred site to the Jews, for it rests on their former temple wall's foundation (western wall).

First was Solomon's temple, destroyed in 960 B.C. By the Babylonians.
The Jews second temple, under the Persians was 516 B.C., King Herod, as well as others made additions to it.
It was destroyed in 70 A.D. Under Roman emperor Titus.

The Jews, desperately wish to rebuild their temple, but the Dome of the Rock, is in their way, for they must build the new temple upon the foundation of Solomon's temple.

The Word of God, predicts, that they will indeed rebuild their temple, but the Anti-Christ, will one day seat himself in it, claiming himself to be God, this will be the Abomination of Desolation, spoken of by Daniel.

Daniel 11:36,37 KJV
[36] And the king (Anti-Christ) shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
[37] Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

Daniel 9:27 AMP
And he (Anti-Christ)shall enter into a strong and firm covenant with the many for one week [seven years]. And in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and offering to cease [for the remaining three and one-half years]; and upon the wing or pinnacle of abominations [shall come] one who makes desolate, until the full determined end is poured out on the desolator.

Matthew 24:15,16 KJV
[15] When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
[16] Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

Mark 13:14 KJV
But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

II thessalonians 2:1-11 KJV
[1] Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him,
[2] That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
[3] Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

[4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he (The Anti-Christ) as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

[5] Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
[6] And now ye know what (who) withholdeth that He might be revealed in his time.
[7] For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only He (God the Holy Spirit) who now letteth will let, until He be taken out of the way.
[8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming:
[9] Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
[10] And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
[11] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
[12] That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Revelation 13:5 NLT
Then the beast was allowed to speak great blasphemies against God. And he was given authority to do whatever he wanted for forty-two months.

Friend, this is but one more “last day,” sign.
Jesus will secretly come for His church, before this Tribulation – temple building takes place.
Are you ready to meet Him, or will you be left behind, to face the Anti-Christ?
