Bible Questions Answered: Gold, Silver, Precious Stones

Bible Questions Answered:
Some Christians I like very much, but there are some Christian people, I simply cannot stand with, why is this?
Emilio/ Puerto Rico

Bible Answers:

Matthew 7:15-20 KJV
[15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
[16] Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
[17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
[18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
[19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
[20] Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

First of all, not everyone who claims to be a Christian, is a Christian. Jesus told us that, “...by their fruits ye shall know them.”
How do they live, what are their works, all speak louder than words, just who they are.

Secondly, many Christian lives are not living consecrated lives to the Lord.

Leviticus 20:7 KJV
Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.

Hebrews 12:14 KJV
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Christian lives can be full of worthless things.
Pride, self-aggrandizement, selfish motives, human glory, personal ambition, personal glory.

The word of God, tells us that these things are wood, hay, and stubble, and are not things that bring glory to God.

I Corinthians 3:11-15 KJV
[11] For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
[12] Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
[13] Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire*; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
[14] If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
[15] If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

* Fire-Hebrews 12:29 KJV
For our God is a consuming fire.

All Christian people, one day, must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, were all their works will be tried.

Ecclesiastes 12:14 KJV
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

II Corinthians 5:9,10 KJV
[9] Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him.
[10] For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Romans 14:10 KJV
But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

I Corinthians 4:5 KJV
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

Everyday, we alone, choose what things will fill our life.
Will they be works of Gold, Silver, or precious stones (Gems), or fleshy, worthless things?

Godly service, humility, works of love, a heart of generous giving, these true works, done out of a humble heart of devotion to the Lord, are works that will have a reward.

When you and I are in the presence of some one like this, our spirit witnesses to us, that these are “real,” children of God.
When we are in the presence of those who, preach, teach, sing, pray, give money, etc. and who are doing so for the reasons of recognition, pride, reward, etc. etc. these works are not of God, but are works that shall one day be burnt up.

Matthew 5:16 KJV
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Romans 13:12 KJV
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Hebrews 12:1 KJV
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
