Bible Questions Answered: Christ No Longer Known After The Flesh

Bible Questions Answered:
I see we are no longer to know Christ after the flesh, what is this meaning?
Kaamilee/Bangalore, India

Bible Answer:

Text:
II Corinthians 5:16,17 KJV
16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we Him no more.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

II Corinthians 5:16,17 NLT
16 So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know Him now!
17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

How common it is for men to judge others by the flesh.
What's his education, social status, what's he worth, etc. etc. etc.

Saul once looked up Christian people, as doing away with the Jewish faith. He was determined to destroy all of them. That was up until he had his Damascus, experience (Acts 9:), with the living resurrected Christ.

Paul became a new man, he no longer...
II Corinthians 5:16 NLT “...evaluat(ed) others from a human point of view. At one time (he) thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently (he knew) Him now!

Like Peter, he could say....
Matthew 16:16 KJV
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

As our view of the Lord, is that now of the spirit, so to we are to think of our fellow man, in a new light, not of their fleshly status, but of the spirit.

Acts 10:34 KJV
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

Romans 10:12,13 KJV
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

And our living God, does not “save” a person by their station or rank in life.....

Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(We cannot work our way into God's favor, by religious, educational, social status, or any other means.)
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

The Christian, is a new creation in Christ.
Ephesians 4:23,24 KJV
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

It does not matter what the man was before, weather he was wealthy, well educated, or a thief, after coming to Christ, the Saviour, he is now a new creation.

II Corinthians 5:17 KJV
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

A Christian, has his salvation assured, but his sanctification, is a work in progress, and not complete until...
I John 3:2 KJV
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.

Who may become a “new creation in Christ?”

Acts 2:21 KJV
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

John 3;16-18 KJV
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Acts 4:12 KJV
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

I Corinthians 3:11 KJV
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Revelation 22:17 KJV
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
