Bible Questions Answered: Confession-Christian Responsibility

Bible Questions Answered:
Only Christians who suffer for Christ will reign with Him?
Jerry/ Springfield, Illinois

Bible Answers:
The scripture to which you refer is....
II Timothy 2:11,12 KJV
[11] It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him:
[12] If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us:

II Timothy 2:11,12 NLT
11 This is a trustworthy saying:
If we die with Him,
we will also live with Him.
12 If we endure hardship,
we will reign with Him.
If we deny Him,
He will deny us.

There is no such thing as a “Closet-Christian!”

Romans 10:9-10 KJV
[9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
[10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:9,10 NLT
9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.

“All True Born-Again Christians,” suffer at the hands of the world.

John 15:18-20 KJV
[18] If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you.
[19] If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
[20] Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept My saying, they will keep yours also.

Matthew 10:32-39 KJV
[32] Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven.
[33] But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven.
[34] Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
[35] For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
[36] And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
[37] He that loveth father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
[38] And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me.
[39] He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Mark 8:38 KJV
“Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of Me and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He cometh in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”

Luke 12:8,9 KJV
[8] Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess Me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
[9] But he that denieth Me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

I John 4:15 KJV
“Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

If you are a Christian today, and you say, “but I'm not suffering!”
The question must then be asked, but are you a “Confessing, Christian?”
More than likely the answer, is no.

All Christians will suffer at one time or another. (Certainly not, something sought after! But a result of living a holy life, in a sinful world.)

If we are faithful, we will yet reign with our Lord, one day, soon.

II Timothy 2:11,12 KJV
[11] It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him:
[12] If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us:

The time of rewards for faithful living is coming!

I Corinthians 3:11-15 KJV
[11] For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
[12] Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
[13] Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
[14] If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
[15] If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Victory in the Christians life is through, the Blood of the Lamb, and Confession of Faith.
(Notice Salvation is by the Blood of Christ alone! Works of righteousness, including confession, etc..etc...can not by themselves, save us! Ephesians 2:8,9 KJV “[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works (religious or otherwise), lest any man should boast.)

Revelation 12:9-12 KJV
[9] And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
[10] And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
[11] And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
[12] Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

I Peter 3:12-15 KJV
[12] For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
[13] And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
[14] But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
[15] But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Isaiah 62:6 KJV “I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,

II Timothy 1:8 KJV “Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; “

Acts 4:20 KJV “For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”

II Corinthians 4:13 KJV “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;”
