Bible Lesson: Miracles Of Jesus-Sight Restored To Two Blind Men

Bible Lesson: Miracles Of Jesus-Sight Restored To Two Blind Men.

Location: Capernaum.

Text: Matthew 9:27-31 KJV
27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed Him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.
28 And when He was come into the house, the blind men came to Him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto Him, Yea, Lord.
29 Then touched He their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.
31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad His fame in all that country.

Two blind men, desperate for help, followed Jesus, crying “Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.”

There are some Christian people today, who have the erroneous view, that God owes them.
What scripture, what promise is that?
There is none.

What we receive from the Lord, is by His loving mercy!
God, is not some light switch to be turned on or off at our whim, for whatever reason we decide. What a terrible affront to the living Almighty God!

Please read the blog posting: Command Ye Me

Now in Judea, many believed Jesus to be the Son of David.

John 7:40-42 KJV
40 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.
41 Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?
42 Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

Matthew 12:23 KJV
And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
(See also: 15:22/ 20:30,31/ 21:9,15/ 22:41-45)

By their so saying, these blind men, were in effect, calling Jesus the promised Messiah.
In the street, their voice was not heard, so they persisted, and followed Jesus into His house.
And the reasons, could be that Jesus did not want His distinction known at that time (Matthew 9:30), or that He wished to test the full extent of their faith.

Once in the house as in the street, their cry, their ambition, was all the same. Jesus asked them one question, “...Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? “

What do we believe today, so many voices, so many doubts, so many fears, so many symptoms, etc. etc.

Psalm 37:5 KJV
Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.

Hebrews 11:6 KJV
But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

I John 5:14,15 KJV
14 And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us:
15 And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

The two blind men, had but one answer, “They said unto Him, Yea, Lord.

The one who pleads for mercy from the Lord, is never, turned away, because the God who we serve is a merciful God.

Psalm 103:8,17,18 KJV
8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto children's children;
18 To such as keep His covenant, and to those that remember His commandments to do them.

Psalm 108:4 KJV
For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.

Lamentations 3:22,23 KJV
22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
