Bible Lesson: Answered Prayer: Jacob's Prays For Deliverance.
Bible Lesson: Answered Prayer:
Jacob's Prays For Deliverance.
Subject Of Prayer: Jacob Seeks
Deliverance From His Brother Esau.
Bible Text:
Genesis 32:9-12 KJV
9 And Jacob said, O God of my father
Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, The Lord which saidst unto me,
Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well
with thee:
10 I am not worthy of the least of
all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto
thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I
am become two bands.
11 Deliver me, I pray thee, from the
hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he
will come and smite me, and the mother with the children.
12 And thou saidst, I will surely do
thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be
numbered for multitude.
(Notice in Jacob's
prayer, he reminded God of His promises, and spoke of his own
unworthiness.)
Since birth, Jacob
and Esau, had been at odds with each other. One day, Esau sold his
birthright for a pot of stew Jacob had made. Then helped by his
mother Rebekah, Jacob stole the blessings of his father Isaac
intended for the first born (Esau).
Jacob ran away, but
feared of his older borthers wrath.

Genesis 28:12-16
KJV
12 And he dreamed, and behold a
ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and
behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
13 And, behold, The Lord stood
above it, and said, I am The Lord God Of Abraham thy father, and
The God Of Isaac: the land
whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
14 And thy seed shall be as the
dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to
the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy
seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
15 And, behold, I am with thee,
and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring
thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have
done that which I have spoken to thee of.
16 And Jacob awaked out of his
sleep, and he said, Surely The Lord is in this place; and I knew it
not.

with his brother; when he became a man, he even fought with God.

(Genesis 32:22-32) and
won. He wept and pleaded for a blessing from Him. There at Bethel he
met God face to face, and God spoke to Him—
5 The Lord God Of Heaven’s Armies,
The Lord is His name!

with Jacob...
