Bible Questions Answered: Virgin Birth

Bible Questions Answered:
Our church, doesn't stress the virgin birth idea, my friend from another church says, you have to believe the Bible. So, who's right?
Shelia/ Hartford, Massachusetts

Bible Answers:
The Virgin Birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The seed of Mary:

Old Testament: (Jesus, not the son of Joseph.)
Isaiah 7:14 KJV
Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

Genesis 3:15 KJV
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed (The serpents seed) and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise His heel.

Genesis 3:15 NLT
15 And I will cause hostility between you (The serpent) and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike His heel.”

Matthew 1:18-25 KJV
[18] Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as His mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with Child of the Holy Ghost.
[19] Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
[20] But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for
that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

[21] And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins.
[22] Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
[23] Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
[24] Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
[25] And knew her not till she had brought forth her Firstborn Son: and he called His name JESUS.

Matthew 1:18-25 NLT
18 This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin,
she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.

19 Joseph, her fiancé, was a good man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly.
20 As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife.
For the Child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.

21 And she will have a Son, and you are to name Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
22 All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet:
23 “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a Son, and they will call Him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’”
24 When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife.
25 But he did not have sexual relations with her until her Son was born. And Joseph named Him Jesus.

Jesus was "Not," from the seed of Joseph:

Matthew 1:18,25 KJV
[18] Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as His mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
[25] And (Joseph) knew her (Mary) not till she had brought forth her Firstborn Son: and he called His name JESUS.

Luke 1:32-35 KJV
[32] He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His father David:
[33] And He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of His kingdom there shall be no end.
[34] Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
[35] And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that Holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Mary, conceived, and gave birth to the Lord Jesus, as a virgin.
Not to believe that Jesus was, "Born of a Virgin," is not to believe the very Word of God, surely no one can call himself a Christian, who does not believe that the Bible is the, "Very-Word-of-God."

Isaiah 40:8 KJV
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Matthew 5:18 KJV
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Matthew 24:35 KJV
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away.

II Timothy 3:16,17 KJV
[16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
[17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

I Peter 1:25 KJV
But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

II Peter 1:21 KJV
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Romans 1:16,17 KJV
[16] For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ(The Word of God): for it is
the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;
to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
[17] For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written,
The just shall live by faith.
