Bible Answer:
After the death of Judas Iscariot, the
eleven remaining disciples wished again that their number be twelve
(Based upon the 12 tribes of Israel.), so they set requirements for
being an Apostle, as the following:
Requirements For Apostleship:
Acts 1:21,22 NLT (Notice
the criteria given.)
21 “So now we must choose a
replacement for Judas from among
the men who were with us the
entire time we were traveling with The Lord Jesus—
22 from the time He was baptized
by John until
the day He was taken from us.
Whoever is chosen will join us as a
witness of Jesus’ resurrection.”
*Someone who had traveled with the disciples and The Lord Jesus from
the beginning.
*That is from John's baptism until Christ's resurrection.
*An Apostle successor, must be a person who was baptized by John the
baptist., as was The Lord Jesus.
*A witness of Christ's resurrection.
For these Biblical
reasons, how could there be Apostles today?
And yet there are
some who believe that some because of their ministry, they qualify
nonetheless as Apostles.
II Corinthians
12:12 NLT (The Apostle Paul.)
When I was with you, I certainly
gave you proof that I am an apostle. For I patiently did many signs
and wonders and miracles among you.
Ephesians 4:11-13 KJV
11 And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of The Son Of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
A minister who has signs, wonders, miracles and prophecy (Which may be
Godly forth telling for inspired preaching.) may he indeed, be
called an Apostle, many think so.
The choice is up to
the believer.
