Hatred
Bible Questions Answered:
“...I've seen hatred between men, and
its evil...”
Hal/ Meppen, Germany (Lower Saxony)
Bible Answer:
Hatred:
State, condition: strong dislike or ill
will; hate.
And hatred has a
brother, near to it.
Unforgiveness:
Not willing or not able to forgive.
Here is what the Apostle Paul had to
say about hatred, and its bedfellows!
Galatians 5:19-21 KJV (NLT)
19 Now the works of the flesh
are manifest, which are these;
Adultery,
fornication,
uncleanness,
lasciviousness, (lustful pleasures)
20
Idolatry,
witchcraft,
hatred,
variance,(quarreling)
emulations, (jealousy)
wrath, (outbursts of anger)
strife, (selfish ambition)
seditions, (dissension)
heresies, (division)
21
Envyings,
murders,
drunkenness,
revelings, (wild parties)
and such like: of the which I tell you
before, as I have also told you in time past, that
they which do such things shall
not inherit the kingdom of God.
That is a “strong,” warning against hatred!
The Word
Concerning Hatred And Unforgiveness:
Leviticus
19:17 NLT
“Do not nurse hatred in your heart..."
Proverbs 4:23
KJV
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of
life.
Proverbs
10:12 KJV
Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
Matthew 18:21-35 NLT (The Unforgiving Debtor.)
21 Then Peter came to Him and asked, “Lord, how often should I
forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?”
22 “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times
seven!
23 “Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a king
who decided to bring his accounts up to date with servants who had
borrowed money from him.
24 In the process, one of his debtors was brought in who owed him
millions of dollars.
25 He couldn’t pay, so his master ordered that he be sold—along
with his wife, his children, and everything he owned—to pay the
debt.
26 “But the man fell down before his master and begged him,
‘Please, be patient with me, and I will pay it all.’
27 Then his master was filled with pity for him, and he released
him and forgave his debt.
28 “But when the man left the king, he went to a fellow servant
who owed him a few thousand dollars. He grabbed him by the throat and
demanded instant payment.
29 “His fellow servant fell down before him and begged for a
little more time. ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it,’ he
pleaded.
30 But his creditor wouldn’t wait. He had the man arrested and
put in prison until the debt could be paid in full.
31 “When some of the other servants saw this, they were very
upset. They went to the king and told him everything that had
happened.
32 Then the king called in the man he had forgiven and said, ‘You
evil servant! I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded
with me.
33 Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I
had mercy on you?’
34 Then the angry king sent the man to prison to be tortured until
he had paid his entire debt.
35 “That’s what My Heavenly Father will do to you if you
refuse to forgive your brothers and sisters from your heart.”
Mark 11:25,26
KJV
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against
any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your
trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in
heaven forgive your trespasses.
Luke 6:27-38
KJV
27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to
them which hate you,
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully
use you.
29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the
other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat
also.
30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh
away thy goods ask them not again.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them
likewise.
32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for
sinners also love those that love them.
33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have
ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank
have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for
nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the
children of The Highest: for He is kind unto the unthankful and to
the evil.
36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye
shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed
down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your
bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be
measured to you again.
Romans 12:14
KJV
Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
I John 2:9-11 KJV
9 He that saith he is in The Light, and hateth his brother, is in
darkness even until now.
10 He that loveth his brother abideth in The Light, and there is
none occasion of stumbling in him.
11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in
darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness
hath blinded his eyes.
I John
3:14,15 KJV
14 We know that we have passed from death unto Life, because we
love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no
murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
I John
4:7,8,20,21 KJV
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every
one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar:
for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love
God whom he hath not seen?
21 And this commandment have we from Him, That he who loveth God
love his brother also.
Hatred and Unforgiveness, “will,” keep one out of heaven!
Matthew 6:9-15 KJV (The Lord's Prayer.)
9 After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in
heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12
And forgive us
our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
(and
forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
NLT)
13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine
is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father
will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your
Father forgive your trespasses.
Ephesians 4:26,27 NLT
26 And “don’t sin by letting anger
control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are
still angry,
27 for anger gives a foothold to the
devil.
