Sevenfold Spirit Of God
Bible Questions Answered:
“How do you say God is three when
the Apocalypse say God has seven spirits?”
Thawab/ Abha, Saudi Arabia (Asir)
Bible Answer:
Bible Text:
Revelation 4:5 KJV
And out of the throne proceeded
lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were Seven Lamps of
Fire burning before the throne, which are the Seven Spirits of God.
Seven is a number showing completeness,
thus it shows the completeness of God's Holy Spirit.
Revelation 4:5 NLT
From the throne came flashes of
lightning and the rumble of thunder. And in front of the throne were
Seven Torches with Burning Flames. This is the Sevenfold Spirit
of God.
This is a symbol of the “sevenfold,”
workings of God the Holy Spirit, and speaks of completeness, as does
the following image of Christ.
Isaiah 11:1-5 KJV (Description
of Jesus Christ, God's Son, empowered by the sevenfold Spirit of
God.)
1 And there shall come forth a Rod
out of the stem of Jesse (Davids family), and a Branch (God's
Son) shall grow out of His roots:
2 And the spirit of the Lord shall
rest upon Him (Jesus the
Christ), the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit
of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the
Lord;
3 And shall make Him of quick
understanding in the fear of the Lord: and He shall not judge after
the sight of His eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of His ears:
4 But with righteousness shall He
judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth:
and He shall smite the earth: with the Rod of His mouth, and with the
Breath of His lips shall He slay the wicked.
5 And Righteousness shall be the
girdle of His loins, and Faithfulness the girdle of His reins.
Seven, the number describing
completeness:
Revelation 5:6 NLT
Then I saw a Lamb that looked as if it
had been slaughtered, but it was now standing between the throne and
the four living beings and among the twenty-four elders. He had seven
horns and seven eyes, which represent the sevenfold Spirit of
God that is sent out into every part of the earth.
The Lamb of God:
John 1:29,36 KJV
29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming
unto him, and saith, Behold The Lamb of God, which taketh away the
sin of the world.
36 And looking upon Jesus as He walked,
he saith, Behold The Lamb of God!
Horns, speak of our God's
Omnipotence (God is all powerful). Horns speak both of strength
and honor, and His power is complete and over all.
Power,
Deuteronomy 33:17 NLT
Joseph has the majesty of a young
bull; he has the horns of a wild ox. He will gore distant
nations, driving them to the ends of the earth. This is my blessing
for the multitudes of Ephraim and the thousands of Manasseh.”
Honor:
Lamentations 2:2,3 KJV
2 The Lord hath swallowed up all the
habitations of Jacob, and hath not pitied: He hath thrown down in His
wrath the strong holds of the daughter of Judah; He hath brought them
down to the ground: He hath polluted the kingdom and the princes
thereof.
3 He hath cut off in His fierce
anger all the horn of Israel: He hath drawn back His right
hand from before the enemy, and He burned against Jacob like a
flaming fire, which devoureth round about.
Eyes, speak of God's
Omnipresence (Everywhere existence) and His Omniscience (All
knowing), which is complete and lacking nothing.
Zechariah 3:8,9 NLT
8 “Listen to me, O Jeshua the high
priest, and all you other priests. You are symbols of things to come.
Soon I am going to bring My servant, the Branch (God's Son).
9 Now look at the jewel I have set
before Jeshua, a single stone with seven facets. I will
engrave an inscription on it, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, and
I will remove the sins of this land in a single day.
Zechariah 3:8,9 KJV
8 Hear now, O Joshua the high
priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men
wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth My Servant the Branch
(God's Son).
9 For behold the stone that I have
laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes:
behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of Hosts,
and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
Zechariah 4:1-10 NLT
1 Then the angel who had been
talking with me returned and woke me, as though I had been asleep.
2 “What do you see now?” he
asked. I answered, “I see a solid gold lampstand with a bowl of oil
on top of it. Around the bowl are seven lamps, each having seven
spouts with wicks.
3 And I see two olive trees, one on
each side of the bowl.”
4 Then I asked the angel, “What
are these, my lord? What do they mean?”
5 “Don’t you know?” the angel
asked. “No, my lord,” I replied.
6 Then he said to me, “This is
what the Lord says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength,
but by my Spirit (Singular), says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
7 Nothing, not even a mighty
mountain, will stand in Zerubbabel’s way; it will become a level
plain before him! And when Zerubbabel sets the final stone of the
Temple in place, the people will shout: ‘May God bless it! May God
bless it!’
8 Then another message came to me
from the Lord:
9 “Zerubbabel is the one who laid
the foundation of this Temple, and he will complete it. Then you will
know that the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has sent me.
10 Do not despise these small
beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the
plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” (The seven lamps
represent the eyes of the Lord that search all around the
world.)
Colossians 2:1-10 NLT
1 I want you to know how much I have
agonized for you and for the church at Laodicea, and for many other
believers who have never met me personally.
2 I want them to be encouraged and
knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete
confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is
Christ Himself.
3 In Him lie hidden all the
treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 I am telling you this so no one
will deceive you with well-crafted arguments.
5 For though I am far away from you,
my heart is with you. And I rejoice that you are living as you should
and that your faith in Christ is strong.
6 And now, just as you accepted
Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow Him.
7 Let your roots grow down into Him,
and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong
in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with
thankfulness.
8 Don’t let anyone capture you
with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from
human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather
than from Christ.
9 For in Christ lives all the
fullness of God in a human body.
10 So you also are complete through
your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and
authority.
