16 One day as we were going down to the place of prayer, we met a demon-possessed slave girl. She was a fortune-teller who earned a lot of money for her masters.
17 She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, and they have come to tell you how to be saved.”
18 This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly it left her.

Paul and Silas were at Philippi, a place without a synagog, which meant that they met at the riverside where prayers were made.

On the Sabbath we went a little way outside the city to a riverbank, where we thought people would be meeting for prayer..."

What is spirit possession?
It is when a doorway has been opened in the mind and heart of an individual to “evil spirits,” who enter with the intent to 1.) stay, and to 2) control, the individual for the purposes of their lord and master Satan.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy..."
If Paul did not know who this girl was, no doubt Lydia ( A Philippians Convert) told him, just who she was.
This young girl at one time or another “opened her self up to-demon possession.”
And by it her handlers made much money in fortune-telling soothsaying (Oracle, Medium).

CAN EVIL SPIRITS OR THE DEVIL, EVER TELL THE TRUTH?

Even our spiritual enemy knows your can catch more flies with honey, and you can with vinegar!

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
How many a dear soul, has been lost to the evil clutches of the evil one, only because they were convinced that they were hearing the truth!
If and when the devil ever tells the truth, it is only to take your soul to the dark fiery pits of hell.
Our adversary, is a treacherous opponent! Those who play with serpents, always end up paying with their lives!

How could a person with proper understanding be so naïve as to believe the voice of someone who they cannot see, or know anything about? Defies all understanding. Would they be that believing on the street, in the market place, or on the phone......absolutely not!

28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My Spirit.
Don't let anyone tell you that this is merely Christians receiving the Holy Spirit into their lives, how out right silly!
This is a Pentecostal Holy Spirit Enduement of Power promised by the Saviour (Luke 24:49).
The disciples were “spirit filled, before Pentecost!
