the east and shines to the west, so it will be when
The Son Of Man comes.
28 Just as the gathering of vultures
shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end
is near.

Well, vultures are not eagles, and
vice-versa.
Eagles were symbols on the shields of
the Roman Soldiers, and spoke of their swiftness. In 70 A.D. Roman
Emperor Titus destroyed Jerusalem.
In the Old Testament:
Nebuchadnezzar swooped down upon
Jerusalem, with the keenness of an eagle.

Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He
shall come as an eagle against the house of The Lord,
because they have transgressed My covenant, and trespassed against My
law.
Some are more prone to think of dead
bodies of animals to be encircled by vultures but the fact remains
they are both (Vultures and Eagles) birds of prey. Both eat roadkill, reptiles, small
mammals (rabbits), fish (a large portion), small birds, and
waterfowl.
Vultures may hunt in packs, where as
the eagle seeks food alone. And so the vulture is the so much more
noticeable.

But this discussion of vulture verses
eagles, makes no difference. The import of our Lord's message was
this, wherever sin abounds, judgment is soon and swift to
