Forgiveness Of Sins

Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:

Matthew 9:1-8 KJV
1 And He entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into His own city.
2 And, behold, they brought to Him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This Man blasphemeth.
4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
6 But that ye may know that The Son Of Man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith He to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
7 And he arose, and departed to his house.
8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

Mark 2:1-12 KJV
1 And again He entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that He was in the house.
2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and He preached The Word unto them.
3 And they come unto Him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.
4 And when they could not come nigh unto Him for the press, they uncovered the roof where He was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
6 But there was certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in His Spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, He said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
10 But that ye may know that The Son Of Man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (He saith to the sick of the palsy,)
11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

Luke 5:18-26 KJV
18 And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before Him.
19 And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.
20 And when He saw their faith, He said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?
22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts?
23 Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?
24 But that ye may know that The Son Of Man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (He said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.
25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.
26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.

The religious leaders did not believe Jesus had the power to forgive sins, because they did not believe that Jesus was God.

Mark 2:7 KJV
Why doth this Man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

Luke 5:21 KJV
And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?

Jesus healed the sick of the palsy to show them, that if He could do these miraculous things, indeed He was The Son Of God, and that truly He could forgive sins.

Matthew 9:8 KJV
But when the multitudes saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

Mark 2:12 KJV
12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

Luke 5:26 KJV
26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.

John 3:1,2 KJV
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto Him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with Him.

Jesus Christ, God's Eternal Son, The Sin Bearer:

Isaiah 53:1-12 MSG
Who believes what we’ve heard and seen?
Who would have thought God’s saving power would look like this?
2-6 The Servant (Jesus Christ) grew up before God—a scrawny seedling,
a scrubby plant in a parched field.
There was nothing attractive about Him,
nothing to cause us to take a second look.
He was looked down on and passed over,
a Man who suffered, who knew pain firsthand.
One look at Him and people turned away.
We looked down on Him, thought He was scum.
But the fact is, it was our pains He carried—
our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us.
We thought He brought it on Himself,
that God was punishing Him for His own failures.
But it was our sins that did that to Him,
that ripped and tore and crushed Him—our sins!
He took the punishment, and that made us whole.
Through His bruises we get healed.
We’re all like sheep who’ve wandered off and gotten lost.
We’ve all done our own thing, gone our own way.
And God has piled all our sins, everything we’ve done wrong,
on Him, on Him.
7-9 He was beaten, He was tortured,
but He didn’t say a word.
Like a Lamb taken to be slaughtered
and like a Sheep being sheared,
He took it all in silence.
Justice miscarried, and He was led off—
and did anyone really know what was happening?
He died without a thought for His own welfare,
beaten bloody for the sins of My people.
They buried Him with the wicked,
threw Him in a grave with a rich man,
Even though He’d never hurt a soul
or said one word that wasn’t true.
10 Still, it’s what God had in mind all along,
to crush Him with pain.
The plan was that He give Himself as an offering for sin
so that He’d see life come from it—life, life, and more life.
And God’s plan will deeply prosper through Him.
11-12 Out of that terrible travail of soul,
He’ll see that it’s worth it and be glad He did it.
Through what He experienced, My Righteous One, My Servant,
will make many “righteous ones,”
as He Himself carries the burden of their sins.
Therefore I’ll reward Him extravagantly—
the best of everything, the highest honors—
Because He looked death in the face and didn’t flinch,
because He embraced the company of the lowest.
He took on His own shoulders the sin of the many,
He took up the cause of all the black sheep.

John 1:29 KJV
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold The Lamb Of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

John 10:11 KJV
I am The Good Shepherd: The Good Shepherd giveth His life for the sheep.

"...Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.

II Corinthians 5:14,15 NLT
14 "...Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life.
15 He died for everyone so that those who receive His new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.

Galatians 1:3,4 KJV
3 Grace be to you and peace from God The Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
4 Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

Hebrews 9:28 KJV

I Peter 1:18,19 KJV
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with The Precious Blood Of Christ, as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot:

I Peter 2:24 KJV
Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

I Peter 3:18 KJV
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by The Spirit:

I John 3:5, 16 KJV
5 And ye know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin.
16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Revelation 7:9 KJV
After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before The Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

And I saw no temple therein: for The Lord God Almighty and The Lamb are the temple of it.

Do you know this precious Lamb Of The Father? Is He your Savior?
He died a painful death, taking upon Himself, your sins and mine in judgement before God.
If you receive Him, believing that He has suffered, bleed and died for you, you will receive His pardon.
If you refuse Him, Hebrews 10:26 KJV "...there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

John 8:24 KJV
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.

Hebrews 3:15 KJV
While it is said, To day if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts..."

Acts 2:21 KJV
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of The Lord shall be saved.
