“If holy people do good and evil do
evil then why the evil ones blessed...”

Bible Answer:
Bible Text:
Solomon asked this
question, centuries ago.
Ecclesiastes 3:16 NLT
I also noticed
that under the sun there is evil in the courtroom. Yes, even the
courts of law are corrupt!
There seemed to be no justice.
But Solomon went on to say...
Ecclesiastes
3:17 NLT
I said to
myself, “In due season God will Judge everyone, both good and bad,
for all their deeds.”
The Psalmist once had such feelings of wonder over the inequities of
life!
Psalm 73;1-28 KJV (Asaph)
1 Truly God is
good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.
2 But as for
me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
3 For I was
envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 For there are
no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.
5 They are not
in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.
6 Therefore
pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a
garment.
7 Their eyes
stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
8 They are
corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak
loftily.
9 They set
their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the
earth.
10 Therefore
his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to
them.
11 And they
say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
12 Behold,
these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in
riches.
13 Verily I
have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.
14 For all the
day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.
15 If I say, I
will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of
thy children.
16 When I
thought to know this, it was too painful for me;
17 Until
I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their
end.
The Lord meets with His people at His altar:
Job 28:28 KJV
And unto man He
said, Behold, the fear of The Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart
from evil is understanding.
Psalm 111:10 KJV
The fear of The
Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they
that do His commandments..."
Proverbs 1:7 KJV
The fear of The
Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and
instruction.
Proverbs 2:5 KJV
Then shalt thou
understand the fear of The Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
Proverbs 9:10
KJV
The fear of The
Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is
understanding.
Proverbs 14:27
KJV
The fear of The
Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
Proverbs 15:33
KJV
The fear of the
Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility.
(Psalm 73)
18 Surely thou
didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into
destruction.
19 How are they
brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed
with terrors.
20 As a dream
when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise
their image.
21 Thus my
heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.
22 So foolish
was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.
23 Nevertheless
I am continually with thee: thou hast held me by my right hand.
24 Thou
shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
25 Whom have
I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire
beside thee.
26 My flesh and
my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion
for ever.
27 For, lo,
they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all
them that go a whoring from thee.
28 But it is
good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God,
that I may declare all thy works.
James 4:8 KJV
Draw nigh to
God, and He will draw nigh to you..."
Psalm 37:1-40
KJV
1 Fret not
thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the
workers of iniquity.
2 For they
shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in The
Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou
shalt be fed.
4 Delight
thyself also in The Lord: and He shall give thee the desires of thine
heart.
5 Commit thy
way unto The Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.
6 And He shall
bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the
noonday.
7 Rest in The
Lord, and wait patiently for Him: fret not thyself because of him who
prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices
to pass.
8 Cease from
anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 For evildoers
shall be cut off: but those that wait upon The Lord, they shall
inherit the earth.
10 For yet a
little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently
consider his place, and it shall not be.
11 But the meek
shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the
abundance of peace.
12 The wicked
plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13 The Lord
shall laugh at him: for He seeth that his day is coming.
14 The wicked
have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the
poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
15 Their sword
shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 A little
that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17 For the arms
of the wicked shall be broken: but The Lord upholdeth the righteous.
18 The Lord
knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for
ever.
19 They shall
not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall
be satisfied.
20 But the
wicked shall perish, and the enemies of The Lord shall be as the fat
of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
21 The wicked
borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and
giveth.
22 For such as
be blessed of Him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of
Him shall be cut off.
23 The steps of
a good man are ordered by The Lord: and He delighteth in his way.
24 Though he
fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for The Lord upholdeth him
with His hand.
25 I have been
young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken,
nor his seed begging bread.
26 He is ever
merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
27 Depart from
evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28 For The Lord
loveth judgment, and forsaketh not His saints; they are preserved for
ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The
righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
30 The mouth of
the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
31 The law of
his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
32 The wicked
watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
33 The Lord
will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 Wait on The
Lord, and keep His way, and He shall exalt thee to inherit the land:
when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
35 I have seen
the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay
tree.
36 Yet he
passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not
be found.
37 Mark the
perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is
peace.
38 But the
transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked
shall be cut off.
39 But the
salvation of the righteous is of The Lord: He is their Strength in
the time of trouble.
40 And The Lord
shall help them, and deliver them: He shall deliver them from the
wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him.
Psalm 49:1-20
NLT
1 Listen to
this, all you people! Pay attention, everyone in the world!
2 High and low,
rich and poor—listen!
3 For my words
are wise, and my thoughts are filled with insight.
4 I listen
carefully to many proverbs and solve riddles with inspiration from a
harp.
5 Why should I
fear when trouble comes, when enemies surround me?
6 They trust in
their wealth and boast of great riches.
7 Yet they
cannot redeem themselves from death by paying a ransom to God.
8 Redemption
does not come so easily, for no one can ever pay enough
9 to live
forever and never see the grave.
10 Those who
are wise must finally die, just like the foolish and senseless,
leaving all their wealth behind.
11 The grave is
their eternal home, where they will stay forever. They may name their
estates after themselves,
12 but their
fame will not last. They will die, just like animals.
13 This is the
fate of fools, though they are remembered as being wise. (Interlude)
14 Like sheep,
they are led to the grave, where death will be their shepherd. In the
morning the godly will rule over them. Their bodies will rot in the
grave, far from their grand estates.
15 But as for
me, God will redeem my life. He will snatch me from the power of the
grave. (Interlude)
16 So don’t
be dismayed when the wicked grow rich and their homes become ever
more splendid.
17 For when
they die, they take nothing with them. Their wealth will not follow
them into the grave.
18 In this life
they consider themselves fortunate and are applauded for their
success.
19 But they
will die like all before them and never again see the light of day.
20 People who
boast of their wealth don’t understand; they will die, just like
animals.
What is the end of the matter?
Ecclesiastes
11:11-13 KJV
11 Because
sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the
heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
12 Though a
sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet
surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which
fear before Him:
13 But it shall
not be well with the wicked, neither shall He prolong his days, which
are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.
II Corinthians
4:17,18 KJV
17 For our
light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far
more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we
look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are
not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things
which are not seen are eternal.
II Corinthians
5:10 KJV
For we must all
appear before The Judgment Seat Of Christ; that every one may receive
the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether
it be good or bad.
Romans 8:28 KJV
And we know that all things work
together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called
according to His purpose.
