Bible Lesson: Parables-Our Lord's: A Man Taking A Far Journey.

Bible Lesson: Parables-Our Lord's: A Man Taking A Far Journey.

Occasion: Warning.

Lesson: Watch Ye.

Bible Text:
Mark 13:32-37 KJV
32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither
The Son, but The Father.
33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
34 For The Son Of Man is as a Man taking a far journey, who left His house, and gave authority to His servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when The Master Of The House cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cock crowing, or in the morning:
36 Lest coming suddenly He find you sleeping.
37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Similar Story By Jesus:

Matthew 24:42-51 KJV
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 But know this, that if the good man of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not The Son Of Man cometh.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord hath made ruler over His household, to give them meat in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord when He cometh shall find so doing.
47 Verily I say unto you, That He shall make him ruler over all His goods.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My Lord delayeth His coming;
49 And shall begin to smite his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50 The Lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for Him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The message of this late hour is “not,” who the Ant-Christ is,
but “who,” are we!

Oh, how easily we the people of God, go astray.

It won't make you or I ready for the coming Lord, to know who the Anti-Christ is!
We must know on bended knee, “who,” we are!

Are we the servants our Lord was referring to?

Mark 13:33-35 KJV
33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
34 For The Son Of Man is as a Man taking a far journey, who left His house, and gave authority to His servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when The Master Of The House cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cock crowing, or in the morning:

Verse 33 Watch and Pray.
Verse 34 Work, and...watch.
Verse 35 Watch.

Matthew 24:6 KJV
Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord when He cometh shall find so doing.

Now is the time for God's children to watch, pray and work!

Mark 13:33 KJV
Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Matthew 24:27,36,42 KJV
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of The Son Of Man be.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
42Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

Similar Story By Jesus:

Matthew 25:14-30 KJV
14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a Man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them His goods.
15 And unto one He gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his Lord's money.
19 After a long time The Lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.
22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.
24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard Man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put My money to the exchangers, and then at My coming I should have received Mine own with usury.
28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Christian people, called to watch:

I Thessalonians 5:6 KJV
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

I Thessalonians 5:8 KJV
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

I Peter 5:8 KJV
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Every living person has been given a measure of talents, and one day God will require of us, just what we have done with those talents.

I Corinthians 4:2 KJV
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

I Corinthians 6:20 KJV
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

I Peter 4:10 KJV
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Haggai 2:4 KJV
"...be strong, all ye people of the land, saith The Lord, and work: for I am with you, saith
The Lord Of Hosts:

I Corinthians 15:58 KJV
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of The Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in The Lord.

II Timothy 4:5 KJV
"...Watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
