Bible Answer
Bible Text:
Hebrews 5:6-10 KJV
6 As He saith also in another place,
Thou art a Priest for ever after The Order Of Melchisedec.
7 Who in the days of His flesh, when
He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and
tears unto Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard in
that He feared;
8 Though He were a Son, yet
learned He obedience by the things which He suffered;
9 And being made perfect, He became
The Author Of Eternal Salvation unto all them that obey Him;
10 Called of God an High Priest
after the order of Melchisedec.
An everlasting High
Priest, The Lord Jesus Christ.

Homily:
What kind of
experiences have you had in life? Sailed several seas, climbed some
mountains, traveled extensively? If You have, you've seen vistas that most will never see. Breathtaking sights,
you will carry with yourself forever.
Christ, God's
Eternal Son, had come to earth, His creation, to experience some
things He had never experienced before.
In coming to earth,
it was a mark of His obedience and humiliation to the call of The
Father.
Hebrews 5:7,8
KJV
7 Who in the days of His flesh, when
He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and
tears unto Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard in
that He feared;
8 Though He were a Son, yet learned
He obedience by the things which He suffered;
In coming to earth,
it was a mark of His willing to be The Author Of Salvation,
and its Perfect, Sinless Sacrificial Lamb.
John 1:29 KJV
The next day John seeth Jesus coming
unto him, and saith, Behold The Lamb Of God, which taketh away the
sin of the world.
II Corinthians
5:21 KJV
For He hath made Him to be sin for
us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God
in Him.
I Peter 2:21-25
KJV
21 For even hereunto were ye called:
because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye
should follow His steps:
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile
found in His mouth:
23 Who, when He was reviled, reviled
not again; when He suffered, He threatened not; but committed Himself
to Him that judgeth righteously:
24 Who His own
self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead
to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye
were healed.
25 For ye were as sheep going
astray; but are now returned unto The Shepherd and Bishop of your
souls.
Hebrews 2:17 KJV
Wherefore in all things it behoved
Him to be made like unto His brethren, that He might be a merciful
and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make
reconciliation for the sins of the people.
Hebrews 7:26 KJV
For such an High Priest became us,
who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made
higher than the heavens;
Christ through His
earthly humiliation and suffering was obedient, unto the very death,
to His father, and His call.
Because of His
obedience, and sacrifice, The Heavenly Father addressed Him....
Psalm 110:4 KJV
(Hebrews 5:6
)
The Lord hath
sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a Priest for ever
after the order of Melchizedek.
The Christians
High Priest:
Hebrews 4:14-16
KJV
14 Seeing then that we have a Great High Priest, that is passed
into the heavens, Jesus The Son Of God, let us hold fast our
profession.
15 For we have not an High Priest which cannot be touched with the
feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we
are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto The Throne Of Grace, that we
may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 9:24-28
NLT
24 For Christ did not enter into a holy place made with human
hands, which was only a copy of the true one in heaven. He entered
into heaven itself to appear now before God on our behalf.
25 And He did not enter heaven to offer Himself again
and again, like the high priest here on earth who enters
the Most Holy Place year after year with the blood of an animal.
26 If that had been necessary, Christ would have had to die again
and again, ever since the world began. But now, once for
all time, He has appeared at the end of the age to
remove sin by His own death as a sacrifice.
27 And just as each person is destined to die once and after that
comes judgment,
28 so also Christ was offered once for all time as
a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again,
not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are
eagerly waiting for Him.
