Bible Questions Answered: Music And The Lord

Bible Questions Answered:
I am 10 years old and play on the trumpet. Did Jesus like music too?
I play at school, and at children's music.
Ryan/ Lisbon, Portugal

Bible Answer:
Yes, our Lord loves "Good,Music."

At His Passover supper with His Disciples, we read...

Mark 14:22-26 KJV (Matthew 26:30)
[22] And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is My body.
[23] And He took the cup, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them: and they all drank of it.
[24] And He said unto them, This is My Blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.
[25] Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
[26] And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

How marvelous, it would be to hear our Lord sing!

And what did our Lord sing, at Passover?
He sang the Hallel.

The Hallel's were the Psalms of praise, Psalms 113-118.

Psalms 112-136: Known as the "Great Hallel."

Psalm 136: Known as "The Hallel."

Psalms 146-150: Known by the Greeks as the "Great Hallelujah."

Hallelujah: Praise ye Jah (Psalm 68:4 KJV "Sing unto God, sing praises to His name: extol Him that rideth upon the heavens by His name JAH, and rejoice before Him.")

Eleven Psalms open with "Alleluia (Hallel u Jah.")
Psalms: 106, 111, 112, 113, 117, 135, 146, 147, 148, 149, 150.

Thirteen Psalms close with "Alleluia (Hallel u Jah.")
Psalms 104, 105, 106, 113, 115, 116, 117, 135, 146, 147, 148, 149, 150.

Psalm 9:11 KJV
Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people His doings.

Psalm 33:1-3 KJV
[1] Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.
[2] Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto Him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.
[3] Sing unto Him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

Psalm 67:3 KJV
Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

Psalm 100:1-5 KJV
[1] Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
[2] Serve the LORD with gladness: come before His presence with singing.
[3] Know ye that the LORD He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
[4] Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.
[5] For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.

Hebrews 13:5 KJV
By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.

I Peter 2:9 KJV
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light:

Revelation 19:1-6 KJV
[1] And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and Glory, and Honour, and Power, unto the Lord our God:
[2] For True and Righteous are His Judgments: for He hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of His servants at her hand.
[3] And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.
[4] And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
[5] And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye His servants, and ye that fear Him, both small and great.
[6] And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
