Evangelism And Unity-Our Lord's Desire.
Bible Questions Answered:
“What is it that Jesus yet still
wants to be done...”
Kathryn/ Charlotte, North Carolina

Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
Christ's desire was that several things
would happen:
1) Evangelism:
Matthew 24:14
KJV
And this gospel of the kingdom shall
be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then
shall the end come.
Matthew 28:18-20 KJV
18 And Jesus came and spake unto
them, saying, All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all
nations, baptizing them in the name of The Father, and of The Son,
and of The Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all
things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you
always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Mark 16:15,16
KJV
15 And He said unto them, Go ye into
all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized
shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Because the “end,”
has not come, obviously, the job of evangelism, is not yet over. Our
call as Christian people, is that of evangelizing.
Christian Confession:
Matthew 10:32,33
KJV
32 Whosoever therefore shall confess
Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in
heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny Me
before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 12:36,37
KJV
36 But I say unto you, That every
idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in
the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be
justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Luke 9:26 KJV
For whosoever shall be ashamed of Me
and of My Words, of him shall The Son Of Man be ashamed, when He
shall come in His own glory, and in His Father's, and of the holy
angels.
Luke 12:8,9 KJV
8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever
shall confess Me before men, him shall The Son Of Man also confess
before the angels of God:
9 But he that denieth Me before men
shall be denied before the angels of God.
Romans 10:8-11
KJV
8 But what saith it? The Word is
nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, The Word of
faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with
thy mouth The Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God
hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man
believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made
unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith,
Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.
Philippians
2:10,11 KJV
10 That at the name of Jesus every
knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things
under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God The Father.
I John 2:23 KJV
Whosoever denieth The Son, the same
hath not The Father: he that acknowledgeth The Son hath The Father
also.
I John 4:15 KJV
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus
is The Son Of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
2) Christian
Unity:
A prayer still yet
unrealized.
Our Lord, prayed
that there would be “no-divisions,” in His church body.
John 17:21 KJV
That they all may be one; as thou,
Father, art in Me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us:
that the world may believe that thou hast sent Me.
Ephesians
2:10,14 NLT (Apostle Paul)
10 For we are God’s masterpiece.
He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things
He planned for us long ago.
14 For Christ himself has brought
peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in His
own body on the cross, He broke down the wall of hostility that
separated us.
I Corinthians
1:10 KJV (Apostle Paul)
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the
name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and
that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined
together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
UNITY
(Of one mind.)
I Peter 3:8-12
NLT
8 Finally, all of you should be of
one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers
and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude.
9 Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t
retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back
with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and He will
grant you His blessing.
10 For the Scriptures say, “If you
want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from
speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.
11 Turn away from evil and do good.
Search for peace, and work to maintain it.
12 The eyes of The Lord watch over
those who do right, and His ears are open to their prayers. But
The Lord turns His face against
those who do evil.”
(Oneness of God's
Spirit.)
Philippians 1:27
KJV
Only let your conversation be as it
becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or
else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in One
Spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the
gospel;
(Final Perfection.)
Ephesians
4:13-15 KJV
13 Till we all come in the unity of
the faith, and of the knowledge of The Son Of God, unto a
perfect man, unto the measure
of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more
children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of
doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they
lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking The Truth in love,
may grow up into Him in all things, which is The Head, even Christ:
(Only through
Christ, may we be one!)
Romans 12:5 KJV
So we, being many, are one body in
Christ, and every one members one of another.
Was the church of
The Lord Jesus ever in perfect unity? Yes.
Acts 4:32 NLT
All the believers were united in
heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their
own, so they shared everything they had
May the church of The Lord Jesus
Christ, ever see unity and blessings again? Yes, if we.....
II Chronicles
7:14 KJV
If My people, which are called by My
name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn
from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will
forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Psalm 133:1-3
KJV
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant
it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
2 It is like the precious ointment
upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that
went down to the skirts of his garments;
3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the
dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there The Lord
commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
