Perfect And Permissive Will Of God
Bible Questions Answered:
“If were not in Gods perfect will
than are we out of his will?”
Jason/ Houston, Texas U.S.A.
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
Romans 12:1,2
KJV
I beseech you
therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your
reasonable service.
2 And be not
conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of
your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable,
and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:1,2
NLT
1 And so, dear
brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God
because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy
sacrifice—the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way
to worship Him.
2 Don’t copy
the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you
into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will
learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and
perfect.
God, before creation, knew, who would turn to Him and His Son! This
is the omniscience of Almighty God. And knowing our choices (whether we would choose Him, or not), He
planed a path for us, a path of His blessings.

before Him, and destruction hath no covering.

they spring forth I tell you of them.
Isaiah 46:9,10
KJV
9 Remember the
former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God,
and there is none like Me,

visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;

unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
I John 3:20 KJV
For if our
heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all

God has a perfect path chosen for His people, but there is also a
permissive path as well.
Permissive:
If something is permissible, you are allowed to have it or do it,
because it does not break any rules, laws, or conventions.
The Free Dictionary/ By Farflex
Allowed to do it, but it is not necessarily God's “perfect,”
will.
Homily:
Having left seminary many years ago, and not finding a church to
minister to, joined a large Minneapolis bank as an employee, and
became a bank manager. All in the bank knew I had come from seminary,
and many over the years came to speak with me and ask or tell me many
things.
One day a vice president walked in, a man I knew very well, and he
told me, “you know God called me many years ago to be a missionary,
but I never went...”
This pastor told the man, you know …
Romans 11:29 KJV
For the gifts
and calling of God are without repentance.
Romans 11:29 NLT
For God’s
gifts and His call can never be withdrawn.
This pastor shared with him, that because God, could never take away
that calling, he must get to the place of God's Permissive Will, and
that immediately he should become involved in his church's missionary
programs, whatever they were, plus fully supporting them, and then he
would know the joy of The Lord.
Romans 8:28-31
KJV
28 And we know
that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them
who are the called according to His purpose.
29 For
whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be
conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be The Firstborn
among many brethren.
30 Moreover
whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called,
them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also
glorified.
31 What shall
we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Romans
11:2,33,34 KJV
2
God hath not cast away His people which
He foreknew...”
33 O the depth
of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how
unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!
34 For who hath
known the mind of The Lord? or who hath been His counselor?
Psalm
37:23 KJV
The steps of a
good man are ordered by The Lord: and He delighteth in his way.
How may we find the “perfect,” will of God?
Through The Word Of God, Through Prayer, Through
Humility and Yieldedness, through the Council of Godly
friends, Through the Spiritual Gifts God has given you,
and by the Opportunities that present themselves to you.
Matthew 26:39
KJV
And He went a
little farther, and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, O My
Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me: nevertheless
not as I will, but as thou wilt.
