Cross Of Christ
Bible Questions Answered:
“When Jesus died on the cross he
stoped the devil and what other things...?”

Bible Answer:
Bible Text:
Genesis 3:14,15 NLT
14 Then The
Lord God said to the serpent,“Because you have done this...
15 And I will
cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring
and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his
heel.”
This is a prophetic view of what our Lord accomplished on His cross.
Satan, would bruise, the body of Christ (But God would raise Him up
the third day), and
The Lord Jesus would forever destroy the serpent, the devil.
Our Lord's death on the cross was a sentence against Satan.
John 12:31 KJV
Now is the
judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast
out.
John 16:11 KJV
Of judgment,
because the prince of this world is judged.
Sentence:
Revelation 20:10 KJV
And the devil
that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone,
where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day
and night for ever and ever.
Some
Of The Things The Lord Jesus Has Done For Us:
Romans 5:10 KJV
For if, when we
were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son,
much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
I Corinthians
15:3 KJV
For I delivered
unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ
died for our sins according to the scriptures;
II Corinthians 5:21 KJV
For He (God
The Father) hath made Him (Jesus)
to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the
righteousness of God in Him (The
Lord Jesus Christ).
Galatians 3:13
KJV
Christ hath
redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us:
for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Ephesians
2:1-10 NLT Made Alive
with Christ
2 Once you were
dead because of your disobedience and your many sins.
2 You used to
live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the
commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work
in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.
3 All of us
used to live that way, following the passionate desires and
inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject
to God’s anger, just like everyone else.
4 But God is so
rich in mercy, and He loved us so much,
5 that even
though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us Life when He
raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that
you have been saved!)
6 For He
raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in
the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.
7 So God can
point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth
of His grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all He has done
for us who are united with Christ Jesus.
8 God saved you
by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this;
it is
A Gift From
God.
9 Salvation is
not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can
boast about it.
10 For we are
God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we
can do the good things He planned for us long ago.
Ephesians 2:1-6
MSG He Tore Down the Wall
1-6
It wasn’t so
long ago that you were mired in that old stagnant life of sin. You
let the world, which doesn’t know the first thing about living,
tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief,
and then exhaled disobedience. We all did it, all of us doing what we
felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same
boat. It’s a wonder God didn’t lose His temper and do away with
the whole lot of us. Instead, immense in mercy and with an
incredible love, He embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made
us alive in Christ. He did all this on His own, with no help from
us! Then He picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company
with Jesus, our Messiah.
7-10
Now God has us
where He wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to
shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all His
idea, and all His work. All we do is trust Him enough to let
Him do it. It’s God’s Gift from start to finish! We don’t play
the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that
we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves.
God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ
Jesus to join Him in the work He does, the good work He has gotten
ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.
Colossians
2:13-15 NLT
13 You were
dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet
cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for He forgave all
our sins.
14 He
canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by
nailing it to the cross.
15 In this way,
He disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them
publicly by His victory over them on the cross.
Colossians
2:13-15 MSG
When you were
stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to
God. God brought you alive—right along with Christ! Think of
it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest
warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s cross. He stripped all the
spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the
Cross and marched them naked through the streets.
Hebrews 2:14 KJV
Forasmuch then
as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself
likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy
him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Hebrews 9:1-28 NLT Old Rules about Worship
1 That first
covenant between God and Israel had regulations for worship and a
place of worship here on earth.
2 There were
two rooms in that Tabernacle. In the first room were a lamp stand, a
table, and sacred loaves of bread on the table. This room was called
the Holy Place.
3 Then there
was a curtain, and behind the curtain was the second room called the
Most Holy Place.
4 In that room
were a gold incense altar and a wooden chest called the Ark of the
Covenant, which was covered with gold on all sides. Inside the Ark
were a gold jar containing manna, Aaron’s staff that sprouted
leaves, and the stone tablets of the covenant.
5 Above the Ark
were the cherubim of divine glory, whose wings stretched out over the
Ark’s cover, the place of atonement. But we cannot explain these
things in detail now.
6 When these
things were all in place, the priests regularly entered the first
room as they performed their religious duties.
7 But only the
high priest ever entered The Most Holy Place, and only once a year.
And he always offered blood for his own sins and for the sins the
people had committed in ignorance.
8 By these
regulations The Holy Spirit revealed that the entrance to The Most
Holy Place was not freely open as long as the Tabernacle and the
system it represented were still in use.
9 This is an
illustration pointing to the present time. For the gifts and
sacrifices that the priests offer are not able to cleanse the
consciences of the people who bring them.
10 For that old
system deals only with food and drink and various cleansing
ceremonies—physical regulations that were in effect only until a
better system could be established.
Christ Is the
Perfect Sacrifice
11 So Christ
has now become The High Priest over all the good things that have
come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven,
which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created
world.
12 With His
Own Blood—not the blood of goats and calves—He entered The Most
Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.
13 Under the
old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer
could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity.
14 Just think
how much more The Blood Of Christ will purify our consciences from
sinful deeds so that we can worship The living God. For by the
power of The Eternal Spirit, Christ offered Himself to God as A
Perfect Sacrifice for our sins.
15 That is why
He is The One who mediates a new covenant between God and people,
so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God
has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty
of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.
16 Now when
someone leaves a will, it is necessary to prove that the person who
made it is dead.
17 The will
goes into effect only after the person’s death. While the person
who made it is still alive, the will cannot be put into effect.
18 That is why
even the first covenant was put into effect with the blood of an
animal.
19 For after
Moses had read each of God’s commandments to all the people, he
took the blood of calves and goats, along with water, and sprinkled
both The Book Of God’s Law and all the people, using hyssop
branches and scarlet wool.
20 Then he
said, “This blood confirms the covenant God has made with you.”
21 And in the
same way, he sprinkled blood on the Tabernacle and on everything used
for worship.
22 In fact,
according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with
blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.
23 That is why
the Tabernacle and everything in it, which were copies of things in
heaven, had to be purified by the blood of animals. But the real
things in heaven had to be purified with far better sacrifices than
the blood of animals.
24 For Christ
did not enter into a holy place made with human hands, which was only
a copy of the true one in heaven. He entered into heaven itself to
appear now before God on our behalf.
25 And He did
not enter heaven to offer Himself again and again, like the high
priest here on earth who enters The Most Holy Place year after year
with the blood of an animal.
26 If that had
been necessary, Christ would have had to die again and again, ever
since the world began. But now, once for all time, He has
appeared at the end of the age to remove sin by His own death as A
Sacrifice.
27 And just as
each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment,
28 so also
Christ was offered once for all time as A
Sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come
again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all
who are eagerly waiting for Him.
I Peter 1:18,19

18 Forasmuch
as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as
silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition
from your fathers;
19 But with
The Precious Blood Of Christ, as of A Lamb without blemish and
without spot:
I Peter 3:18 KJV
For Christ
also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He
might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened
by The Spirit:
I John 2:2 NLT
My dear
children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if
anyone does sin, we have an Advocate who pleads our case before
The Father. He is Jesus Christ, The One who is truly righteous.
2 He Himself
is the Sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but
the sins of all the world.

Have I Done My
Best For Jesus?
I wonder have I
done my best for Jesus,
Who died upon
the cruel tree?
To think of His
great sacrifice at Calvary!
I know my Lord
expects the best from me.
Refrain:
How many are
the lost that I have lifted?
How many are
the chained I’ve helped to free?
I wonder, have
I done my best for Jesus,
When He has
done so much for me?
The hours that
I have wasted are so many
The hours I’ve
spent for Christ so few;
Because of all
my lack of love for Jesus,
I wonder if His
heart is breaking too.
I wonder have I
cared enough for others,
Or have I let
them die alone?
I might have
helped a wand’rer to the Savior,
The seed of
precious Life I might have sown.
No longer will
I stay within the valley
I’ll climb to
mountain heights above;
The world is
dying now for want of someone
To tell them of
the Savior’s matchless love.

Hebrews 12:1-4
NLT
1 Therefore,
since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life
of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down,
especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with
endurance the race God has set before us.
2 We do this by
keeping our eyes on Jesus, The Champion who initiates and perfects
our faith. Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross,
disregarding its shame. Now He is seated in the place of honor beside
God’s throne.
3 Think of all
the hostility He endured from sinful people; then you won’t become
weary and give up.
4 After all,
you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin.
