Cleansed- By What Are We Cleansed?
Bible Questions Answered:
“I see contradiction in John clean
through the word but Hebrews clean through Christ!.....”
Balbir/ Kolkata, India (West Bengal)
Bible Answer:
No contradiction.
We are clean, through the shed blood of
God's sinless Lamb, The Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ our Redeemer:
John 3:14-18 KJV
14 And as Moses lifted up the
serpent in the wilderness, even so must The Son Of Man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in Him
should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that
He (God The Father) gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the
world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be
saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not
condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he
hath not believed in the name of The Only Begotten Son Of God.
I Corinthians 15:3,4 KJV
3 For I delivered unto you first of
all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins
according to the scriptures;
4 And that He was buried, and that
He rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Galatians 1:3-5 KJV
3 Grace be to you and peace from God
The Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
4 Who gave Himself for our sins,
that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to
the will of God and our Father:
5 To whom be glory for ever and
ever. Amen.
Titus 2:13,14 KJV
13 Looking for that Blessed Hope,
and the glorious appearing of The Great God and our Savior Jesus
Christ;
14 Who gave Himself for us, that He
might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar
people, zealous of good works.
Hebrews 9:28 KJV
So Christ was once offered to bear
the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear..."
I Peter 1:18-20 KJV
18 For as much as ye know that ye
were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from
your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with The Precious Blood Of
Christ, as of A Lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Who verily was foreordained
before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last
times for you,
I Peter 2:21-24 KJV
21 "...Christ also suffered for
us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps:
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile
found in His mouth:
23 Who, when He was reviled, reviled
not again; when He suffered, He threatened not; but committed Himself
to Him (God The Father) that judgeth righteously:
24 Who His own self bare our sins in
His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live
unto righteousness..."
I Peter 3:18 KJV
For Christ also hath once suffered
for sins, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God,
being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by The Spirit:
I John 3:5 KJV
And ye know that He was manifested
to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin.
Revelation 1:5 KJV
And from Jesus Christ, who is The
Faithful Witness, and The First Begotten Of The Dead, and The Prince
Of The Kings Of The Earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from
our sins in His own blood,
Revelation 5:9 KJV
And they sung a new song, saying,
Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for
thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of
every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
Now what about John's statement, that we are
clean through The Word?
This is no problem, The Word, is a "title" for The Lord Jesus Christ!
John 1:1,14 KJV
1 In the beginning was The Word,
and The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
14 And The Word was made flesh, and
dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of
The Only Begotten Of The Father,)
full of grace and truth.
The very Word Of
The Father, is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ.
I John 1:1 KJV
That which was from the beginning,
which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have
looked upon, and our hands have handled, of The Word Of Life;
I John 5:7 KJV
For there are three that bear
record in heaven, The Father, The Word, and The Holy
Ghost: and these three are one.
Revelation 19:11-13 KJV
11 And I saw heaven opened, and
behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful
and True, and in righteousness He doth Judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire,
and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no
man knew, but He Himself.
13 And He was clothed with a vesture
dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God.
There are no less than 103 titles for The Lord Jesus Christ,
God's Son. The Word, is but one of them.
Look for all these titles, in an upcoming blog.
John 17:17 KJV
Sanctify them
through thy Truth: thy Word is Truth.
