Sealed By God The Holy Spirit
Bible Questions Answered:
“What does it mean for God to seal
us?...”
Jean/ Houston, Texas U.S.A.
Bible Answer:
Bible Text:
Ephesians 1:13,14 NLT
13 And now you
Gentiles have also heard The Truth, the Good News that God saves you.
And when you believed in Christ, He identified you as His own by
giving you The Holy Spirit, whom He promised long ago.
14 The Spirit
is God’s guarantee that He will give us the inheritance He promised
and that He has purchased us to be His own people. He did this so we
would praise and glorify Him.
In America it is the custom of the bridegroom (a man who is to be
married.), to give to his fiancee, and engagement ring. It is a sign
that she is to be married, she has been spoken for, she is engaged.
The day of the wedding comes and a second ring is given her, the
wedding ring, and that day she is married to the one she loves, and
the two become one.
God in His great love for His people, has given us a sign that we are betrothed to Him. This sign, is not an outward sign, but one inward.
The sign to a believer is the indwelling presence of God The Holy
Spirit.
Homily:
When a flame is lit in the light house tower, all that region of the
sea, knows of its life saving brilliance.
And so to, the presence of God The Holy Spirit in the life of the
believer shines forth His life saving
presence!
John 14:16-18
KJV
16 And I will pray The Father, and He shall give you another
Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever;
17 Even The Spirit Of Truth; whom the world cannot receive, because
it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He
dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
John 7:37-39 NLT
37 On the last
day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the
crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to Me!
38 Anyone who
believes in Me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare,
‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”
39 (When He
said “living water,” He was speaking of The Spirit, who would be
given to everyone believing in Him..."
God The Holy Spirit, in the life of the believer is God's Gift, His
“seal,” of redemption and all that He has promised to those who
turn to Him.
Seal:
To assure, confirm, or bind with or as if with a seal:
They sealed the bargain with a handshake.

II Corinthians
1:20-22 NLT
20 For all of
God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding
“Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which
means “Yes”) ascends to God for His glory.
21 It is God
who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has
commissioned us,
22 and He has
identified us as His own by placing The Holy Spirit in our hearts as
the first installment that guarantees everything He has promised us.
Romans 8:32 KJV
He that spared
not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not
with Him also freely give us all things?
God The Holy Spirit, prepares the bride for her (the church of Jesus
Christ) marriage.
John 14:26 KJV
But The
Comforter, which is The Holy Ghost, whom The Father will send in My
name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your
remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 16:13,14
KJV
13 Howbeit when
He, The Spirit Of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all Truth:
for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that
shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.
14 He shall
glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall shew it unto you.
I Corinthians
3:16,17 KJV
16 Know ye not
that ye are the temple of God, and that The Spirit Of God dwelleth in
you?
17 If any man
defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of
God is holy, which temple ye are.
There is a marriage soon to take place, are you a child of God, a
member of the bride of Christ?
Matthew 25:1-13
KJV
1 Then shall
the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their
lamps, and went forth to meet The Bridegroom.
2 And five of
them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that
were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise
took oil (Oil, a type of God The
Holy Spirit) in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While The
Bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at
midnight there was a cry made, Behold, The Bridegroom cometh; go ye
out to meet Him.
7 Then all
those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the
foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are
gone out.
9 But the wise
answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you:
but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while
they went to buy, The Bridegroom came; and they that were ready went
in with Him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward
came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But He
answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch
therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein The Son
Of Man cometh.
Revelation
19:6-9 KJV
6 And I heard
as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many
waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for
The Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
7 Let us be
glad and rejoice, and give honor to Him: for the marriage of The Lamb
is come, and His wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her
was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and
white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith
unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage
supper of The Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings
of God.
