Bible Questions Answered: Kings And Priests

Bible Questions Answered:
What then do these do in heaven?
Himanish/ Mumbai, India

Bible Answer:

Born again*, children of God, when in heaven, will do what they are to do now, on the earth!

Born again:

John 3:1-7; 13-18 KJV
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto Him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a Teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with Him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be
born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto Him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven, even the Son of Man which is in heaven.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only Begotten Son of God.

Perhaps no other subject needs to be stressed more than the present position of God's people.

Ephesians 1:13 KJV
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Bible Text:
Revelation 1:4-6 KJV
4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from Him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before His throne;
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the Faithful Witness, and the First Begotten of the dead, and the Prince of the Kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

The born again Christian, is both a king in God's eternal kingdom, and a priest.

Christian kingship:

A Christian, is a servant of the King of Kings, the Lord Jesus Christ. We are kings in the Lord's kingdom of righteousness, we reign with and for Him.

Luke 22:28-30 KJV
28 Ye are they which have continued with Me in My temptations.
29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto Me;
30 That ye may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones..."

Revelation 3:11 KJV
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Christian Crowns:

1)
The Crown of Rejoicing: Faithful Service.

I Thessalonians 2:19,20 KJV
[19] For what is our hope, or joy, or Crown of Rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?
[20] For ye are our glory and joy.

Philippians 4:1 KJV
“Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my Joy and Crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.”

2)
The Crown of Righteousness: Faithful Testimony.

II Timothy 4:8 KJV
“Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.”

3)
The Crown of Life: Faithfulness in Trial.

James 1:12 NIV
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.”

Revelation 2:10 KJV
“Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

4)
The Crown of Glory: Faithfulness in Suffering.

I Peter 5:4 NIV
1 To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a witness of Christ's sufferings and one who also will share in the glory to be revealed:
2 Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve;
3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.
4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

Hebrews 2:9 KJV
“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man.”

5)
The Incorruptible Crown: Faithfulness in Self-Control.

I Corinthians 9:24-27 KJV
[24] Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
[25] And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
[26] I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
[27] But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Revelation 4:9-11 NLT
9 Whenever the living beings give glory and honor and thanks to the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever),
10 the twenty-four elders fall down and worship the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever). And they lay their crowns before the throne and say,
11 “You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.”

Revelation 20:4 KJV
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them..."

Revelation 22:3-5 KJV
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him:
4 And they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

II Timothy 2:11,12 KJV
11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him:
12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, he also will deny us:

Priesthood of the believers:

As the priests of God, we offer up prayer and praise!
We as believers, may approach God, directly ourselves, because of the finished work of Christ, who has torn the veil of the temple in two.

Matthew 27:50,51 KJV
50 Jesus, when He had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; (An act of God, not man.)

Hebrews 10:17-21 KJV
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20 By a new and living way, which He hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, His flesh;
21 And having an High Priest over the house of God;

Daily our duty is to bring offerings and praise of worship, to the living God.

Exodus 19:5,6 KJV
5 Now therefore, if ye will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto Me above all people: for all the earth is Mine:
6 And ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation..."

Isaiah 61:6 KJV
But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God..."

I Peter 2:5 KJV
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Revelation 20:6 NLT
Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him a thousand years.

Offering of Praise:

Psalm 107:21,22 KJV
21 Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing.

Psalm 116:17 KJV
I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.

Jeremiah 17:26 KJV
And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.

Jeremiah 33:11 KJV
The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of Hosts: for the LORD is good; for His mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD..."

Jonah 2:9 KJV
But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.

Hebrews 13:15 KJV
By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.

Offering of Thanksgiving:

I Chronicles 16:8-12 KJV
8 Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon His name, make known His deeds among the people.
9 Sing unto Him, sing psalms unto Him, talk ye of all His wondrous works.
10 Glory ye in His Holy Name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
11 Seek the LORD and His strength, seek His face continually.
12 Remember His marvelous works that He hath done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth;

Psalm 50:14 KJV
Offer unto God thanksgiving..."

Psalm 92:1 KJV
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:

Psalm 100:4 KJV
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.

Psalm 107:21,22 KJV
21 Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Colossians 3:15-17 KJV
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.

I Thessalonians 5:18 KJV
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

I Peter 2:9 KJV
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
